Because we are use of being poor but having lots of friends and family around. Fact is we stay poor even if we already have the money that's because helping family and even friends is an obligation. I don't like it, I so hate it, but that's our culture.

Try to visit my country im proud a filipina .yes its true filipino kind they offer you to help what u need for free especially in the province...and i am from visayas leyte province and so many beautiful white beaches
Provinces are better, cities in our country are too westernized by the industry. Filipinos in the province are very kind and generous even and don't expect anything in return, even city dwellers like me get reminded to be humble and appreciate what we have haha.
I wouldnt really say most of us are fluent however it could be somehow a good english that can be understood.. I think fluent would be an over statement...
Well you’re in the city you’ll find more Filipinos fluent in English. But anywhere in the Philippines in general you can converse or communicate in English.
I'm purely malaysian and currently studying here in Philippines. But now I love being filipino, they're very polite and charitable, at first I don't know how to speak filipino language, but here I am now acting like pure filipino.... Po- mean a sign of respect. Hepakabar kabar semuya😍😍😍

I just came back from the Philippines and can tell is true for every single point on this list. I'm in love with the Philippines and it people and I Can't wait to go back.

@@iamben7152 my fiance (He's from the USA) asked me if I could teach him Tagalog. 🤣 I immediately told him that he should learn Bisaya too as its the second most common dialect.
The primary point of difference of the Philippines compared to other countries in the world is its integrated and unique Hispanic-Asian identity. It is unique because it is the only country to integrate both western and asian culture to create its own. It is integrated because it doesn't feel forced. In contrast, it's like an american hispanic country (e.g Mexico) but instead of amerindian culture mixing with hispanic culture, it is asian. East timor is the only other country I know to have such well-integrated mestizo (mixed) culture. Hence only the Philippines and East Timor were members of the now defunct Latin Union. It is literally apparent everywhere, though most Filipinos don't even realize it or reject it due to their inclination to indigenous culture and hatred to colonial culture. Though this is another topic. In architecture, it is only in the Philippines where bahay-na-bato or arquitectura mestizaje can be found. It is an evolution of the nipa hut (pre-colonial) and application of western architectural techniques. The infamous earthquake baroque architecture is also unique in the Philippines, due to the fact that the archipelago is in the pacific rim of fire. This is why belfries of churches are separated from the main church, churches are also lower and are supported by huge buttresses for structural support. So to say that heritage houses in Vigan, as well as the Paoay Church or Binondo Church are purely Spanish is erroneous, they are Filipino, hence hispanic-asian. In culinary arts, foods here are a mixture of indigenous, chinese, spanish, mexican and just recently american techniques. From the chinese siomai and pancit canton to the spanish caldereta, menudo, afritada, arroz valenciana and more. In language, Filipinos before the 1987 Constitution has 3 national languages: Filipino (based on the tagalog language), Spanish, and English. The Chavacano de Zamboanga and Chavacano Caviteño are local creoles unique to their regions. In tradition, it can be seen on religion as well as practices such as the siesta. We also keep the ñ on our local alphabet. Only hispanic countries use such. Moreover, with a colonial writing system, we also maintain the indegenous Baybayin, Kulitán, Hanunuo etc. To sum it up, Filipinos should acknowledge the diversity of their culture instead of rejecting one in favor of another due to irrational hatred. Filipinos should use it at their advantage since such unique and beautiful identity can be used to at least give a general identity or brand for the country. Filipinos were the first bridge of oriental and western culture and must foster that part of its history.
@@navigatorofnone shhhhh you don't have to bring ANY political parties to blame, its all about individual mindset you know, and way back before, the Katipuneros made a kartilya to point out what makes us Filipinos that is still relevant until to this day.
@@navigatorofnone You're obviously a tabogo, but man, you gotta learn to respect yourself. Or get some education, not that it would matter much anyway.
the hearts of Filipinos is as warm as their weather and the friendship you find there is as sticky as rice... you meet a friend, you leave as their family, sounds cliché but true. It is so easy to find friends there and smiles from everyone, young and old. Respect is the key, give them respect and they'll give it back a thousand fold. I've been there 4 times and I love it. It's true the Filipinos are friendly. I learned Tagalog before I went and it astounded them. They all laugh uncontrollably and answer in English. The food, I'm not so fond of because I try to eat healthy... not much healthy food to be found. I cry about those who live in severe poverty and it hurts me to know they almost all believe they must leave to earn a good living. am going there this year ,, from the UK , for 3 weeks ,,,, can't wait ,,, thank you for the video ,,so helpful,,,, as this is my first time aboard , and yes first time flying ,,,,
Good luck and enjoy... its really fun in the Philippines there are a lot of good people and fun to be with but just like any place there's still a few individual who wants to take advantage of other people have fun but still dont let your guard down
There is not doubt you'll enjoy it. I've just come back from Manila and been to many places. It's my fourth trip so far and many more to come. There are lots of beaches depending where you are but worth checking out!
I'm a Filipino living here in the US for 10 years and I really really missed a real friendship a Filipino friend can offer. They are there for us anytime, anywhere just one call thru laughters and tears. Here in the US everything is all superficial. I don't know why.😢
I met a girl from there recently, she's about three years older than I but we fell for each other, I got to see her family in video calls and they are some of the warmest, kindest people you meet in the world. I love how faithful they can be, intelligent and giving. they are very selfless. I can't wait to fly there for the first time by next year to see her and meet her family and friends in person. Filipinos and Filipinas really do act the way you see them in this video.
Got to get to the Philippines within the next few years everything I've seen from various travel vloggers, books etc has lead me to believe it's a place I would really enjoy. I will be heading a trip through Vietnam and Cambodia in just under a month and I already have my next two vacations planned but after that I really need to consider the Philippines.
go there you wont regret it , people are the true beauty of the country , sure the place itself is very beautiful but its the friendly locals you meet and get to know that really are the true experience , would recomend it to any traveller
We don't need to know who they are. I just always find it odd that people watch a video and then give it a thumbs down with no comment. I mean what were they looking for to begin with? And what didn't they like? You two are very likeable and such a cute couple and the Phils is so beautiful.
I've been watching your vlogs before i moved here in Bangkok to work. I'm a proud Filipino and this video made me cry. I've seen a lot of vlogs and stories about the Philippines but this so far is the most honest, real and heart warming. It made me realize how i totally love and miss my country at the same time. Love you both! Continue to explore the world and travel and share it to everyone! ❤

I was in the Philippines as a child. My dad was in the military. We absolutely loved our 3 years there. It was hard being away from family, but we all have fond memories of our time there.
All very good points. The last time I was there was in April and I didn't want to come back to the states. Next time I don't plan on coming back. The people, the food, the beauty, the weather, and the affordability, what's not to love.
@@maddhammer5776 - I agree that the people have something to do with your love for the country but the weather??? Lol! I'm a Filipino and live in Davao but will move to a cooler place called Baguio. The heat can be overwhelming!
Thanks Mr Hammer, you make me feel more appreciative and love for my country. Most Filipinos think otherwise, going to the US to immigrate. God bless you sir.
I have to agree with you that the people are the greatest feature of the Philippines. They are very warm and friendly and welcoming. However them not asking for money and not wanting money isn't the same. In many countries, saving face is more important than needs. So I hope that others don't take it literally and take advantage of the wonderful people of the Philippines. Even is they don't ask, they will be more than happy to get a gift for services rendered. Whenever I travel there, I always hire a guide, it's really cheap and you help a family put food on the table.
I thought he was just trying to test if he could still get a motorcycle ride without paying. But you're right, one should be kind and considerate enough to give a service fee for them.
Dont worry theres a lot of opportunistic fellas especially taxi drivers here in Manila. But those who offer it for free is really just kindness, if you offer money, a lot of us would refuse or would take a lot of convincing since were not originally in it for the money. I think offering food would have a higher chance of being received well.
7:55 - 8:50 Teary eyed! I am so proud being a Filipino... Filipinos are the most resilient people on earth. Thank you for this. Sawasdee Khrab and Khab Khun Mak Khrub!
Sir and Maam is a colonial mentality that is taught to the Filipinos back in the days and it has become a form of greetings or respect to the person you just met. It is like bowing in Japan and South Korea.
children bow to their elders (mano po). During colonial times they said Jefe, senor, senora. I think ma'am and sir was more integrated due to Americans. Filipinos always use "po" which roughly translates to sir and maam already, they just needed an English version. Americans probably up until the 60s use to call their elders sir and maam such as a father or teacher. However, they lost that as part of their culture and only use it now mostly in the service/retail/hospitality industries.
I have a different opinion. The counter part of bowing in japan and korea is 'pagmamano' in ours. We often use mam and sir to address the authority or strangers. See how we call our teachers in school, we use Mam/Sir and not Mrs/Mr in contrast with other countries . Look how people trying to sell something call out the attention of customers, they use mam and sir. Honestly, majority of filipinos are not really concious when using it..
Wrong 100 percent incorrect Filipinos are one of the bravest human living on earth, and their smile is from the heart no matter what the situation. Its genes not culture or influence of history.
Filipinos are kindhearted, they smile eventhough there are so many problems. Philippines is so beautiful. People are kind + beautiful destinations = Perfect combination

Thanks Divert Living for this wonderful video. Here in the Philippines, we look much deeper than just skin color or race. As long as we have a chance to show kindness to others, it is treated as God's given opportunity to prove ourselves worthy of God's love.
I am a Filipino but I spent the last 30 years of my life in the US. With all the years I have been there, I missed the Philippines so much. It's not only because it was my first home but it was because I miss the simplicity of the life there. There, people can smile and laugh even if they have no money. For them, life is something to be embraced with no matter how it is.
That's very sweet and kind:) But I wouldn't want to offend such hospitable people for refusing to eat their food because it's heavily meat based (I am vegan). I'd have to bring my own food or cook for myself if I visited.

Thank you Keith ! I (Tah) cried for the number 2 while editing this video .. well we really miss the Philippines and believe you will have a blast there:)
Try to visit my country im proud a filipina .yes its true filipino kind they offer you to help what u need for free especially in the province...and i am from visayas leyte province and so many beautiful white beaches
We are poor country but rich in nature and having a good behavior...Proud Filipina❤
Yvonny Mara I’m coming to visit. In October of2019. Staying at my girlfriends house in Province for 2 weeks 😉
Provinces are better, cities in our country are too westernized by the industry. Filipinos in the province are very kind and generous even and don't expect anything in return, even city dwellers like me get reminded to be humble and appreciate what we have haha.
People in the Philippines is the real Treasure. They're so kind and also fluent at speaking english.
Aww they are! We love it there!
Thank you 😚
I wouldnt really say most of us are fluent however it could be somehow a good english that can be understood..

Thanks for the kind words, brother. 🙏

At 7:56 when you said "HELLO" and then the person inside the house said "DAYON." They're actually inviting you inside their house. Dayon=Come in
that's sooooooo good to know ! Thank you !:D
Dayon= come in. Its a bisaya word. Mostly who speaks bisaya are from Visayas and Mindanao, the 2 of 3 main island in the philippines

"No problem about money" thanks to you kuya, im proud of you.

You can thank the leftists Aquino regime for destroying the filipino culturally and economically.
Philippines is the friendliest country in the world and is the happiest place on earth not Disneyland. - love from Australia

The ‘no money no problem’ is exactly like helping without anything in exchange. It happens everywhere in The Philippines and it’s called bayanihan.
Aww its so beautiful!
It's taught to us on school, we have a subject "edukasyon sa pagpapakatao" (ESP) which is "education to become human"
@@что-топриятное-л5я I think the right English term for that is "Education of Humanity"
True Bayanihan exist in the Philippines but except in the bigger Cities like manila and National capital region. where life is so hard to make a living because all people live there is being forced up of the "need money for a living to survive" the modern way.
"money is no problem" so glad to hear that. Its called courtesy and hospitality.
Its beautiful!
Yes true. Courtesy Hospitality the exact word!

I'm a Filipino living here in the US for 10 years and I really really missed a real friendship a Filipino friend can offer. They are there for us anytime, anywhere just one call thru laughters and tears. Here in the US everything is all superficial. I don't know why.😢
Perhaps due to materialism
agawid kan angkel hahahah
Bcoz of materialism, vanity and too much pride
Try going to the south in USA. It's a lot more welcoming. Food is great there as well. Also more respect.
Nah the nation is divided, it ain’t United state no more it now call divided state 😂
Philippines has the most welcoming people in the world!
We totally agree with you!
TaKashi thank you im pilipino
You should! Its so beautiful there!
Yeah! See you here sir. 😂😂
go there you wont regret it , people are the true beauty of the country , sure the place itself is very beautiful but its the friendly locals you meet and get to know that really are the true experience , would recomend it to any traveller
Have a safe trip sir

They are amazing:)
I thought he was just trying to test if he could still get a motorcycle ride without paying. But you're right, one should be kind and considerate enough to give a service fee for them.
@@righteousman04 oo naman kahit maliit lang basta lang makabili ng makain nila sa isang kainan diba?
They just shy to accept the money or gift. You have to inisist giving the money to them and they will bw happy and shy at the same time
Dont worry theres a lot of opportunistic fellas especially taxi drivers here in Manila. But those who offer it for free is really just kindness, if you offer money, a lot of us would refuse or would take a lot of convincing since were not originally in it for the money. I think offering food would have a higher chance of being received well.

Sir and Maam is a colonial mentality that is taught to the Filipinos back in the days and it has become a form of greetings or respect to the person you just met. It is like bowing in Japan and South Korea.
Ahhh i never thought of that
children bow to their elders (mano po).
Maybe because they were conquered by Spain firs*
Wrong 100 percent incorrect Filipinos are one of the bravest human living on earth, and their smile is from the heart no matter what the situation. Its genes not culture or influence of history.
Filipinos are kindhearted, they smile eventhough there are so many problems. Philippines is so beautiful. People are kind + beautiful destinations = Perfect combination
