Nice use of a cheap uC. The effort you've put into documenting AND SUPPORTING your project with a web programming interface is impressive. Not crazy about the mini-USB, but I totally get it - we've had design requests to use USB-mini because students were less likely to steal the cables, and the port is relatively robust. Glad to see it on HaD. Keep up the good work.
I wonder if you could cramp in Bluetooth functionality. Bluetooth modules by itself are a few bucks, maybe the cost might can stay below $5 if engineered wisely.
Yes, there are 3 separate channels of 0805 LEDs at the bottom of the PCB (Design to reduce the number of parts in BOM list and hence reduce cost). You can modify the PCB layout to fit a ws2812b if you want.
Awesome work man, i love macropads, I've done one by myself and i'd like to create one that's really small and portable, is it by any chance possible to see your pcb schematic? I would love to create a mini portable version open source to the pubblic :)

That is really rad that you're able to make that for $3. Nice job!
Awesome project, thanks!

Looks so nice, maby make one for use on a iMac for the specil keys that have.
Are there enough free pins to add rgb support? Maybe 4 ws2812b?

Can you share the schematic of the circuit? 🙏🏽🙏🏽
Awesome, nice work! I was thinking if it's possible do a similar HID using bluetooth and esp
Do ESP8266 / 32 have USB HID support?
@@tobychui esp32-s2 actually has
Super nice 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
