This seems like the ideal method to help new quilters make precisely-pieced blocks! My mil is so scared to start quilting because when she tried making one last year, it was a disaster! When putting the blocks together, things went awry due to issues with imprecise cutting, inconsistent seam allowance, etc. I'm going to get her a layer cake and a Cake Mix Recipe and have her try again.
Just finished piecing my first one from cake mix 1. Just received 2 more cake mixes-looking forward to using my layer cakes! My blocks were so accurate-love this product!
Just made this Cake Mix Recipe #2 and when you do another printing of these, I have a recommendation: On the cutting lines -- sequentially number them using the small white # in a dark SQUARE. Just a thought, as I wrote the sequential cutting numbers in red on one of the extras, then laminated it and saved it for future reference.
Can you use the clips around the edge of the paper/fabric to keep them all in place. I worry that using pins will make a bubble on the pattern and then the final product will be off.
Hi Radonna, the quilt in the back does not have a pattern, but our best estimate is that it uses 1 recipe pad and 2 fabrics for the vertical sashing and borders.

Love this. Looks like a great way to do a puppy dog block I've been wanting to try.
Hope you demonstrate all four. What a great product.
I agree! =) I'd love to see LOTS more tutorials for more quilts using the recipe cards =D
Amazing, I will try it with my cousins
So sorry for question earlier! I'm able to see it clear now on the screen!

Thanks for the feedback! We will pass this information along to Moda! :)
OOPS, use a dark SQUARE (not circle) to differentiate it from the stitching sequence #s.

Love your tutorial!!!!! Where do you find the pattern of the block seen on the beginning on the cake mix pattern 2?
I love the cake mixes!!! the quilt in the back how many cake mixes and extra materials are needed?

Thank you so much!!!! Always enjoy ur tutorials!!!!
I use a dab of glue in the center of a few triangles on paper and then between the fabrics. No pins!
🍵looked like you need to engage the dual feed if that is a D foot on the bernina
You are quite correct, looks like we forgot that :)
Is this good for beginers?
Yes, triangle paper is always a great tool for beginners to create accurate half square triangles.
