    Problem nibs are fun! Sometimes. Until the ink blobbed out, it looked pretty good. I mean I think I’ll try to find a sample of it. Good job. Looking forward to the next episode. 😊

      LOL...it's all fun and games until the ink blobs out!

    I would try a wetter ink. I find the feed on the Moonman dry. You could also use a brass sheet to open the tines a bit. But I would definitely try some other inks before calling it quits. The dipping of ink could be the burp. I am planning to change mine to the 0.6 Nemosine nib too. I am using Monteverde Canyon rust...which is medium wet. Hoping it goes well with me! Good luck and keep us posted!

    And, the Nemosine saga continues! 🤔 The suspense is killing me! 😉

    I am far from being an expert, but I used Graf von Faber-Castell Royal Blue in my Faber-Castell Ambition and found it to be rather dry. I replaced it with Diamine Sargasso Sea and it was surprisingly wet again. So maybe, GFC inks in general, just like the Pelikan Edelstein collection, flow rather dry and a change of ink might help you out. Whick is a bit sad because it is a beautiful ink. My current grey ink, Lamy Crystal Agate, is pretty dry and I used it to "tame" my Pelikan M400, which was a bit too wet. So maybe you just need another pen/ink combo. Thanks for the video!

      I've been experimenting with different inks and paper and it appears you are correct. This pen seems to perform best when used with a moderately dry ink, but not too dry.

    I would say before you mark this as a failure try letting the ink work its way through the feed if that doesn't work then try flushing it with some warm soapy water, put in a ink you're more comfortable with for testing out to see whether the nib is causing the dryness or if it's the feed, and the burping could've been caused by you dipping the pen and over saturating the feed with ink.

    Just to add to the overall hassle you're going through, might I suggest subbing out your plastic feed for an Ebonite feed ( which can be purchased from any of the mail order vendors you might prefer) which could then be Heat Set to better fit that troublesome Nemosine nibbage?
    Besides, we'd likely ALL cherish seeing how your own gadget-sensibility deals with heat-setting a feed.

      An ebonite feed is something I need to investigate for the long term. However, I've made some progress by adjusting the nib and experimenting with different inks and paper.

    Dang, is that poor Nemosine 0.6 EVER going to find a home? You are so patient.

    Whatayaknow. Thought about changing nibs on some of my Moonmans, and look what I found. Thanks Cathy. Hey, do you know if say, Goulet nibs would fit in a Moonman pen?

      I was wondering the same. I want a 1.5 italic nib on a moonman t1.

    Hey!! Thanks to your video I saw how gorgeous this pen is! Got one... but... last night I replaced the moonman nib with an FPR Ultra Flex nib and all seemed well till I began inserting the cap. The nib was a bit too long and the cap bent it downwards completely. I tried fixing it with no success, and there was no tipping material left anyways. I ordered another one... Could you tell us what pens will fit that #6 FPR Ultra Flex nibs? I don’t like FPR Pens or ranga pens. Thanks in advance!

    Thanks for this video Cathy- I can’t stand the awful nib that’s in my Moonman M800, so this will definitely be replaced now! 👍

      I would suggest sticking with a fine or medium replacement nib. The feed has trouble keeping up with anything larger. I think I'm going to use the Moonman nib to try my hand at nib grinding.

      gadgetstop321 thanks Cathy. Yet another Chinese fountain pen with flow issues! I think that I’ll just tinker with the original nib.

    Like you, I write better with EF and F nibs. I would love a stub to fit my M800 that is less than the standard 1.1mm #6 . No luck, Nemosine apparently is out of business. Where do you get (fine) stubs?

    Burbing pens scare me... I'd be interested in seeing a solution, if found! 😊

      Burping pens scare me too! 😨 However, I'm happy to report that I'm making progress with this pen!

    I'm thinking of getting a Moonman M800 or M600 and swapping in a 1.1 nib. Are you aware of any 1.1 options for Moonman?

    • @gadgetstop321
      @gadgetstop321  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you get the model that has the Moonman nib you can swap it with any Jowo #6 nib. Goulet and Anderson Pen sell Jowo replacement nibs. They can also be found on eBay. However, I don't think #6 Bock nibs are interchangeable with Jowo. I think they use different feeds and collars. Doug Rathbun's channel is a good resource for information about the M800.

    Is it ok to put the nib unit in the boiled water .. will it damage the plastic as I have difficulty pulling out the nib..

      That's a good question. I don't know.

      @@gadgetstop321 thanks, I used plier to pull out and both nib and feed came out. Worked for me..

    Did you figure out a solution yet? I got my m8 but I haven’t replaced the nib yet. Probably later this week

    • @gadgetstop321
      @gadgetstop321  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I tried using Graf von Faber-Castell Stone Grey and Monteverde Moonstone and they both burped ink so I cleaned it out and put it away for a day. Then I got it back out and inked it up with Iroshizuku Chiku-rin. I've written several pages with it over the last two days and it hasn't burped...🤞

      gadgetstop321 I had a thought on that - maybe the curve of the nib is slightly different between the two nibs and the resulting gap was causing the leaks. When you left the nib in there for a day, maybe it relaxed into the curve of the feed and now is working fine. Just speculation
