- The Leader of the Opposition, Mrs. Margaret Thatcher, makes a fiery statement in criticism of James Callaghan's Labour government and its handling of industrial unrest during the winter of 1978-1979.
Mrs. Thatcher also criticises the rising power of trade unions and outlines prospective policy that would prove pivotal to her first two terms in office as Prime Minister.

Good grief she was formidable and knew how to gather information and express an argument vs many who interrupted her. There were some rather dangerous, and indeed ignorant individuals who served in that Labour government.
An absolutely exemplary performance. One of her best, and something the country desperately needed to hear.
The trade union movement destroyed itself in the 70s.
