      I have always kind of envied those that can shave with a razor of any kind. When you have coarse, curly hair, the results of using a razor are bumps and ingrown hair. The illustration for this product shows the hair follicle is cut straight horizontally. Normally, a razor will cut coarse, and heavily curly hair at an angle, that often angles back into the skin, causing itching, ingrown hairs, and bumps. Is this product claiming it won't cause this kind of issue?

    I totally agree with your basic concept - I honestly think Elon sees the Tesla Bot as the key to colonizing Mars ... think about it: Those initial missions to Mars can be done with a small army of Tesla Bots - they don't require food or oxygen - only energy (solar power will easily solve that issue) - the initial missions will be dangerous, of course - so any catastrophic failures won't involve the loss of any humans - only some (relatively) inexpensive and replaceable Tesla Bots - and that small army of Tesla Bots can be used to create enough of the basic infrastructure needed for a true Mars colony that is populated by both Tesla Bots and humans, where all the most dangerous tasks are given to the Tesla Bots, of course ... and those first missions to Mars will clearly be used to debug and clear the way for the arrival of the first humans that arrive on Mars - it's a simple and obvious gameplan ... great analysis! I've been talking to my friends and family about this since the Tesla Bot was introduced on AI Day - they all think I'm nuts and that it's unrealistic, but as my favorite tee shirt says, "Don't Bet Against Elon" ... :)

    As a retired window cleaner, I reckon robots would be able to use the squeegee but maybe not the cement removing razer sharp blades (not without scratching the glass). They might need a few algorithms for that. And with window cleaning on new buildings, removing the concrete and paint is really what it's all about.

    • @miroslavmilan
      @miroslavmilan 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I still believe it’s a silly idea to put humanoid robot into this particular role. Surely it must be WAY harder than inventing a specialized cleaning machine that can hold onto the facade, secured from the top? I mean, sitting on the perch, secured by waist strap, trying to keep balance not to fall off, and only being able to use one hand most of the time? I don’t think the human form is helping in this particular scenario in any way, it’s just that someone has to do it and we didn’t come up with anything better yet. I think the buildings should be built with automated window cleaning in mind, in the first place, with attachment points for the robots so they can get enough grip and leverage for doing the job gently and effectively.

    • @nebelparderk
      @nebelparderk 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @K lake Yeah. But I think all of you are overestimating how well those bots will be able to do this kind of work. It will be hard enough to teach them how to walk properly without tripping or falling over. I am not sure if it will be easier to teach them complex jobs like that. Our bodies have like millions of "sensors" which are all taken into consideration by your brain simultaneously.
      One day, yeah maybe they will be capable of something like that. But I am sure this will take some more time. A lot more.

    • @Justwantahover
      @Justwantahover 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @K lake They both have their uses. The humanoid can use stuff that humans use and that makes the Teslabot really useful. But the specified bots like vacuum cleaners also have their use. Better and cheaper than a Teslabot vacuuming, that's for sure. And it would be a whiles before that happens and only when they use the humanoid for other stuff as well.

    • @Justwantahover
      @Justwantahover 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@nebelparderk It will take a while before a Teslabot could vacuum like a vac-bot can. Walking is really hard and needs tons of time and effort to pull off properly. How Elon can make the Teslabot walk, run and do backflips. Buy Boston Dynamics.

      In actuality….we won’t know what human functions a TeslaBot will successfully- including economically successfully- do, say, in the first 10 years from introduction. Some will be in areas we can clearly see now; some areas we THINK now they SHOULD be able to step into….will turn out to either not really work (either because other humans resist too much, or, not truly economically viable, or…..), whatever; and the third category…..those that would actually surprise the hell out of us now a TeslaBot will step into and really just end up makin a difference and fitting like a glove. - Dave Huntsman

      Water vapor doesn't work like that. It can only power a turbine when under pressure. Where do you get the pressure from when the vapor is just hanging in the air? Also, no water on Mars does NOT "flash into vapor". Water on Mars vaporizes. That means it dissociates into hydrogen and oxygen. In other words, it is no longer water. It would be useless for power uses.
      Mars doesn't have dust storms as the atmosphere is far to thin to sustain wind for more than a few microseconds. Further, robots would NOT be solar charged as the panels would need to be fixed in place and thereby negate the usefulness of a robot.

    Think about it: the lifting capacity of a Tesla bot on Earth is a puny 150 lbs. On Mars with 1/3 Earth gravity, the lifting capacity doesn’t change. What does change is a 450 lb Earth weight now weighs 150 lbs on Mars. So it makes perfect sense that the real application of a Tesla bot isn’t on Earth but on Mars or any other low gravity environment. Elon always keeps his 👀 on the prize in everything he proposes or does.

      "puny" 150 pounds? That's more than most people can lift and move around. Even though I can lift 150 pounds, I would not care for that to be my job on a regular basis. My back is already damaged enough. A Tesla bot would be extremely useful to me here on earth.
      There are robots that are built especially to carry heavy loads around, but the Tesla bot is not one of those. That capacity is not generally needed in a regular household. Tesla bots are designed for tedious tasks. I would not be surprised if they design a Tesla bot for industrial use that has a much higher capacity. These tesla bots are designed to be safe and not intimidating. They are built weak for a reason.

Following into a seamless automotive process for the end-user. Now I understand - this has already been done, to some extent. Both scary and fascinating. So many possibilities - many of which have yet to be fully realized. People can be so linear...

    Although this is late. Robots on Mars are the key to colonizing it. Robots can work on the surface 24/7 without special equiptment and/or bulky space suits, immune to radiation and hazardous conditions. Many of the early Mars personnel will have mechanical/electrical engineering backgrounds to repair and maintain the robots that build and expand the Mars base colony for future groups of personnel. I would assume in the future that much of the cost of going to Mars includes the cost of multiple robots(with spare parts), that offset your initial burden on the colony.

    Tesla will invent friken Lazers to clean the windows, but I take your point. They could also coat the glass with a superhydrophobic coating is a thin surface layer that repels water. It is made from superhydrophobic (ultrahydrophobicity) materials. Droplets hitting this kind of coating can fully rebound.

You see a room full of employees on omnidirectional treadmills wearing a full kit of sensors and virtual reality headsets. You then find out that for each employee there is a Tesla bot on mars being operated via omnipresence through cameras on Tesla bot streaming to the vr headset while the employees trackers control the Tesla bot. Then able to perform real world tasks in extreme environments just like mars etc. essentially we could live vicariously through the Tesla bot.

    Dude, there isn't even a prove of concept prototype and there isn't going to be one for years and you're saying as if it's a done deal. Making a human shaped robot is several orders of magnitudes harder than a self driving car.
    Tesla is solving vision. But the navigation of a car based on what's around it is not that complex, because there are clear rules for the correct behaviour. There are only so many degrees of freedom to control. Moving around as a bipedal is much more complicated than moving around on 4 wheels.
    Another problem with a human shaped robot is that it's a piece of junk until it actually works. Tesla cars weren't able to drive themselves a few years back, but they were still amazing cars. They were able to sell a product and make enough revenue to sustain the R&D for the AI development. Just imagine how much investment tesla bot would require upfront.
    "It's great that we can land a starship on Mars". No, we can't. Starship is still in development, it isn't clear whether it can become truly rapidly reusable. There are thousands of unforseen challenges that might get in the way. Please stop using present tense for things that haven't yet happened.

    My generation learnt about global warming in high school, It changed label to climate change not long after, The point is not that is a thing or that its a threat. take climate change as a concept, and humanity as one organism, dominance doesn't mean force or pressure, it doesn't describe a right to exploit harm or control, it does mean responsibility, similarly to how our parents once has dominance over us as children. This planet will become as we envision it, Our numbers are so many and our capability so large that we are now directly affecting how it evolves and how life here sustains. What this planet will be in 20 years from now will be the result of what we deem important.
    Our values morels and priorities will be reflective of the environment we pass down to our children to inherit. Once humanity crosses the threshold of 10 billion the impact we will have will be felt by every single generation of humans born on this planet after that, Which places us at a very precarious position . We are looking down the barrel of a gun knowing what we do or don't do during our life times will create a precedence that will be follow by future generations.
    We must lay the foundations of the world to come, We must begin to steer in a direct to lead the way for future generations to continue with. The threat we now know is very real isn't the only reason for humanities need to become more aware. we are part of this planet and it is a part of us its our home. We have spent all of human history thus far being selfish as individuals, we have nice homes cloths, cars, stuff, etc. Our numbers are so many now that we must being to become a selfish super organism by ensuring we have a nice planet to exist within.
    Begin to think of your house or flat as merely a dwelling and the planet our real home. trust me on this if we do this right with the knowledge we have gained thus far the changes we make will create a planet that enhances our experiences lifestyle and lives in ways you cant possibly imagine because humanity has never attempted such things on a scale able to bring forth real change.
