Excellent interview, one of the few Americans that understands how Russians think. Another subject that would have been great to touch on is what the US strategic objective for Ukraine and Russia longer term? Why the US has been and continues to be so hesitant to provide offensive weapons to Ukraine? For example, why not allow Ukraine to strike more distant targets in Russia with US made weapons?

Makes more sense to appoint career members of Dept of State as ambassadors than rich randos that contribute to campaigns.

On PBS Sullivan described trump as chaotic and self serving. But when asked, he said he would vote republican quoting reagan's 11th comandment - not to critisize fellow republicans. So, party over country: I guess there is a difference between loyalty and patriotism.

I wish John could answer this: D Trump said the Ukraine war wouldn't have happened if he was in the White House. What do you think John?

After listening to Sullivan's complaints, I almost feel like making a donation the US government to help them defend themselves against the world. This is so ridiculous. Not an ounce of truth.

Give me a break! How many aggressive wars or interventions have the US conducted since 1945? It is around 100. Over 50 countries, I've lost count, have suffered US aggression. The US is the last country who should criticize any one for aggression. This is preposterous, to quote Sullivan.

Sullivan has a very selective memory. Re Koweit, which is a minor incident compared to the WMD reason for the invasion of Iraq, the US ambassador, who was a woman at the time, if I recall correctly, said to the Iraqis that the territorial dispute with Koweit was not a matter for the US. It was in the paper and it struck me at the time when I saw the reaction after the invasion and the claims of babies thrown out of incubators and other fake news spread to justify the US attack. The problem if I recall was that Saddam planned to trade oil in Euros, and that's why he had to go. We can't rewrite history just to justify our actions.

Remind me how much the US is spending in Israel to conduct a genocide against occupied Palestine to help Netanyahu, a convicted war criminal. Has Sullivan read the UN Charter on the right of self determination and right to defend oneself from an occupier by any means including by force?
