His surgical disassembly of the arguments made by the concessions for peace or so-called “realists” crowd is possibly the most important part of this video.
Absolutely. Noam Chomsky blaming putin’s invasion on the west and Ukrainian’s ideas of freedom broke my heart. The man who taught me about freedom seems to think only Americans deserve it. I am impressed with the professionalism with which TS addressed his peers, and think it’s cosmically hilarious that Chomsky always told us to be critical even if those we agree with, and that really applies on this. It’s nice to see it addressed.

Although it's not mentioned here, it's useful to know, Dr. Snyder speaks 5 languages fluently (including Russian,) and reads 10. And fluency means ones can read, write, and speak a language comprehensively.
A PhD in History in the time in which he would have completed it - he must have worked primarily with documents written in those languages - in his case, Russian, Ukranian, German - as his primary source of information, so it is sort of baked into the cake.
I always find it interesting how when I meet westerners who are fluent in a language but grew up in a completely different culture, will never understand the country and culture they try to speak about.
It’s always a pure pleasure to listen to the Timothy Snyder’s voice: vast knowledge, eloquent and interdisciplinary analysis and synthesis, erudition, great intuition, sense of humour, empathy and an outstanding didactic talent. I love his Yale lectures on Ukrainian history available on TH-cam. Greetings from Poland!
What an amazing interview, Mr Snyder and Mr Zygar! Thank you so very, very much. You named and pointed out so many things, I was struggling with. As a German leftist, I hope that this war - after Ukraine has won - will lead to a rethinking of history and positions of the German left.
@@majdavojnikovic I don't see Russia win. - I see a catastrophic defeat. And therefore a chance for Russia, to turn from an Empire to a (or multiple) nations... But to your question: The German left was deeply fractured since the reunification of Germany. On the western side there were the anti-imperialists and the anti-nationals while on the eastern side, there were anti-Germans and what I call the "traditionalists". As we are quite a few years after the unification, these lines ofc. have blurred to a large extent. But still - there are some leftists, that are still fond of Russia (some anti-imps and some traditionalists). This war is bringing these differences back on the table. While in day-to-day business, these questions may not be as important as they are now.

I'm so happy that due to my knowledge of English I was able to watch the original version of the interview. On top of that as bilingual Ukrainian whose mother is Russian and father is Ukrainian, I could truly comprehend most points. A historian Tamara Eidelman on her TH-cam channel also talks about the danger of simplifying the history, particularly in terms of connections between of Russia and Ukraine from both sides. When it comes to "rashism" used here in Ukraine, of course, it was instinctively coined as backlash. After a fascist calls you a fascist, the term is stolen and you have to find a new name to be understood.

Lol too bad such comments are entirely without substance. These categories of "schizo-fascism" or whatever Snyder wants to use to rise up the ranks of corporatized/financialized academia (if one can call it that) are absolutely worthless for _actually understanding_ (descriptively ie _not_ normatively; historical materialism - cui bono? Who benefits?) that can _easily_ be applied with _more_ corroborative evidence to the so-called "West". Time for some _actual_ history instead of the 1-dimentional manichean "clash of civilizations" bullshit Snyder spews as his fucking profession. What is described as "not fascist" ie a "Liberal democracy" is in actuality a bourgeoisie (ownership class, ie _not_ working class) dictatorship. Liberalism is the unconscious death drive that fascism makes conscious (I mean my god, we're literally _destroying the earth_ and not only aware of this but accelerating this process), hence the appeal - it's honest/authentic about what capital-L Liberalism is. _This_ is what generates the social miasma of ubiquitous nihilism that pervades where "morality" and any normatively asserted values merely become shields of performative piety, excuses of plausible deniability to ritually absolve the actions of pure self-interest that are reinforced _materially_ by *capitalism.* I mean really, in the most important ways the nazis didn't really lose WWII. The only distinction between the US neoliberal corporate empire and the third Reich fascist project is that conscious aesthetic/ideological understanding that serves as a lode star of consensus values, chopping off the viscerally ultranationalist id in favor of a generic "cost-effective" corporate sheen (serving "the market" gods essentially; an unconscious ideological drive to maximize "efficiency" aka capital accumulation in neoclassical/neoliberal econ), trading an explicitly racist ideological lens for one guided by that drive toward technocratic "efficiency". As hilariously briefly referred to in a single aspect of his writings, fascist political theorists like literal nazi Carl Schmitt noting this distinction of authentic ultranationalism as the essence of "the political" itself; basically a tribal friend/enemy distinction at its core (check out his self-described "political theology" The Concept of the Political for more here), but beyond that that the only "principle" of Liberalism (undergirded by capitalism) is precisely to _avoid_ that "political", embracing conflict avoidance and compromise for its own sake, a fundamental _denial_ that 'the political' even exists and simply mediating between two _actually_ political sides (no surprise, aligning far more closely toward the side that benefits its material interests). Something Trump has intuited pretty well simply by being a resentful narcissistic dipshit and thus calling out (often correctly sadly) the media etc. _explicitly_ as "enemies", which masses of people inevitably relate to as their material conditions are inevitably stripped out and auctioned off to the highest bidder like obsolete copper pipe. From this understanding, Schmitt of course then conceives of the political tactic for the nazi party, which is to exploit such a tendency for Liberal capitulation to gradually accumulate institutional power/alignment over time until passing a threshold where a full takeover cannot be effectively resisted in that Reichstag Fire -> Enabling Act template of sovereign exception (reconceiving the idea of the political "sovereign" from the Hobbesian state leviathan or whatever, _instead_ as the entity who is able to decide on the state of _exception_ to that legal superstructure, as this act is inherently defined by its superseding of the law). Sheldon Wolin's conception of "inverted totalitarianism" I think elaborates this well also in its aesthetic distinctions and dogmatic devotion to capitalism, the god of gold. Far from hyperbole there's a direct continuity to the _literal_ nazis, with SS officers like Otto Skorzeny (basically nazi james bond, Paladin Group), Reinhard Gehlen (the Gehlen Organization), Klaus Barbie (the "butcher of Lyon" - active in France and then directly involved with Operation Condor in Bolivia), et al put directly on the CIA's payroll for anticommunism counterinsurgency bona fides (ie terrorism). Infamous pedophile Paul Schafer another notable SS protected in the US rat lines to South America, his "Colonia Dignidad" acting as a node for Condor in Chile to cultivate ideological alignment instrumental in Pinochet's ascension. Vincent Bevins' book The Jakarta Method I think also well illuminates specifically how the Indonesian counterinsurgency model was exported to Brazil, further evolving into this terror network of Operation Condor, effectively the Monroe Doctrine 2.0, the CIA of course acting as the SS 2.0 for transnational corporate/finance capital, extended further in its global latticework in the "stay behind" networks established in Operation Gladio and wielded as a part of its "strategy of tension"; basically acting as NATO's covert enforcement preserving its utility as a tool of political domination over Europe keeping "the Americans in, the Germans down, and the Russians out" as succinctly put by NATO's first secretary general (relevant in regards to NATO's role in catalyzing the current war in Ukraine with the OUN and all the intelligence cultivation of fascist paramilitary there and across the region). I mean this is the _tip_ of the imperialist iceberg here but one need only look at US "regime change" operations post-WWII (alongside their establishment of the international financial system that works at the behest of transnational US corporate power) Iran in '53 with Operation AJAX installing the Shah as dictator for the next 20+ years until a grassroots revolution took hold in '79, Guatemala in '54 with Operation PBSUCCESS, Sukarno in Indonesia, Lumumba in the Congo, the _first_ 9/11 in 1973 in Chile overthrowing democratically elected Allende for Pinochet's military dictatorship, et al.), immediately post-WWII imposing the Bretton-Woods international financial system with the US dollar as the "global reserve currency" using the leverage of being the only industrialized nation-state _not_ bombed to shit and taking the imperial baton from the British and their pound sterling. Which is merely all to point out the _enormous_ ideological lacuna (or just plain disingenuousness) stemming from a chasm of historical understanding from Snyder, ironic given that is his supposed profession (similar to Anne Applebaum), and subsequently the reality that there's really only two choices for humanity, to echo Rosa Luxemburg's succinct political slogan (before being executed by the fascist paramilitary freikorps who later become that SS - shocker - directed by Ebert's ostensibly 'social democratic' SPD, splitting with the international socialists over the issue of war bonds during WWI): *_socialism or [continued] barbarism._*

The point about Chomsky and Kissinger not knowing what it is to be under the Russian control is very significant in understanding how crucial it is for Ukraine not to lose this war. Unless you lived under the soviet era control, it's hard to comprehend how degrading and delibitating life is for an individual to live in that system. Point well made by the guest
Someone should suggest to kissinger that Israel give up territories for peace, or yo chomski that the US trade some of its states for peace when the next war cones. You understand he is telling disinformation from start to begin? Bucha atrocity is known to be made by Ukraine. Mariupol atrocity is known to be made by Ukraine. It is Kiev that was terrorizing, "reeducating" and destructing their citizens from what they were, to become something citizens were not, and then killed them for that if they didn't accept and yield, abandoning their language, culture, religion and soul. His arguments are simple because he is deceiving and reinventing events and cause-effect reasons, projecting almost everything.

What is rather interesting to me from my culture, is that people were aware that colonialism was wrong. My society in the past found it very easy to blame other european countries for the death and destroy of others in America. Yet my society went on to become an imperial power almost covering the entire globe. The justification was that the local inhabitants were less cultured and it was right to colonise them in order to share our enlightened values. The government to this day says that it is wrong to vilify the past and that it has always been tolerant. (yes we should ignore that religious freedom did not exist for 100s of years) Indeed those enlightened values are present today in those who criticise colonialism. The rational reasons provided by the rulers are at odds with the country's culture. "Science, poetry and thought are the lamps". History can always be revised. There was a lot of death and pillage in America, but likely not to the extent you're imagining. Most people died due to disease Europeans brought with them, and not because Europeans decided to murder them.

That is not the essence of fascism. Fascism is a state united around a dictator. The U.S. has never had a dictator, though Trump seems to want to be one.
Have you ever been to the US? Maybe only a slightly less self deprecating country than Canada or Germany! There's a lot of "American patriots" that prefer to be edgy and in your face, but they're dwarfed by the amount of people who want the country to do better and ashamed of parts of the history. I voted for Trump. I support Ukraine. I don't like Trump's personal character. I also empathize with Ukrainians being referred to by Putin generally as NAZIS, because of who I voted for. I do feel a bit irritated by the fact that the person I voted for was laughed at when he railed against European dependence on Russian energy. When I hear him praise the intelligence of Putin, I don't hear it as a love for him but rather as a critique of the types of people who were laughing. I guess my issue is with dismissiveness of each other. I know there's a large segment of conservatism that is sort of siding with Russia, but I would like to think I'm not that odd as a Trump voter. I didn't "vote for fascism", I voted for just taking the border situation seriously, being proactive on energy, and things like that. We only get two choices. I also worry about the over praise for Trump by a lot of his supporters. I worry that highlighting everything he says as racist and downplaying every statement he makes to the contrary will only encourage the base that I don't want to be his base. I would prefer that people like me be his base if it's going to come to him again. "Bad hombres coming across the border" can either be taken at face value or be sold as an endorsement of racist beliefs by Trump, thereby encouraging THAT base. I voted for Youngkin in Virginia. The rhetoric about him has been almost just as bad. And that rhetoric only encourages the worst rhetoric from exactly the type of Republicans who I don't want to be the base. In fact, I want Ukraine to stop being perceived through our political lenses. The war is entirely about Ukrainian sovereignty. That's something the average conservative ought to be able to understand if it's delivered that way.
Hey there! Kudos for nuanced take on politics. As a Russian interested in foreign politics (partially because we have none functional in Russia) and didn’t sleep through the night on 2016 elections, I was amazed at what happened and had high hopes for Trump. As much of a buffoon Trump is, he was the sort of man Putin perceived as a threat to deal with carefully rather that start war while he’s in office. The other thing was that Hillary, a corrupt to the bone establishment politician, had no honest stance on anything. I don’t think voting for the one candidate that has no dementia is bad. You also now have really based Ron who doesn’t make himself a buffoon in public eye and thus presents as a more competent politician rather than media man Trump is. Stay strong, stay sane, don’t fall into far-something ideologies. I hope it all ends soon
@@jordanhicken7812 I appreciate that reply. At times I feel a little bit sick over the whole thing in Ukraine. Not just the war itself, but the ways different people are dealing with it/experiencing it. Quite a few people I know and love. I don't like a lot of the knee jerk hate towards Russians, though I think a lot of what I saw in Georgia wasn't really hate and was more frustration. One of my closest friends from Kazakhstan is ethnically Russian and very orthodox and is now living in Russia with her husband and daughter and she's trying to get her Russian citizenship. She's one of the kindest people I've ever met in my life. We connect over our common faith. Calling ourselves "conservatives" doesn't seem to say much to me. She's my friend and she affirms my faith in being called to love. She knows Americans don't "hate Russians" in a personal way through her friendship with me. I have another close friend from Kazakhstan who lived in Russia and now lives in Tbilisi. When I visited her in Russia, even though she's not religious she found a Catholic Church so that we could go to mass together. I didn't even ask. She thought that was important for me. I saw her and her husband recently in Tbilisi. I love her a ton. She doesn't want Georgia to get too russified, but primarily she speaks Russian 😂. She knows that. She made pancakes my last day there. My friend and sister. Calling her "liberal" doesn't mean much. I have a Russian flag and a Ukrainian flag at home. I hate that a Ukrainian flag bumper sticker now suggests something about my politics to people. It's like how the mask during covid suddenly became a political symbol whether you wanted it to or not. If you wore one it was because you supported the new global elite, and if you didn't it was because you wanted to kill babies. - I love my friends. I can't celebrate everyone's beliefs, but we're each individually called to Love.

Great interview. I'm at a loss for words. And being a retired academic, that is saying a lot. I will definitely subscribe to this channel. Thanks to Timothy Snyder for providing great clarity in these, our dangerous times.
The issue here is eastern Ukraine plus Crimea, which is historical Russian land since the 1700's to about 1920, and Russia having a naval base in Crimea since the 1700's. Then the USSR happened, with Russia being the big dog state of the USSR, Ukraine being another state. And, the Russian Ruling Elite don't want The West to have that land by way of Ukraine. It's prime real estate, with a substantial Russian history and ethnic-Russian population, and it's a core of Russian history, it's core Russian neighborhood. Russia is taking a stand on multi-polarity of the world, along with China, in counter to The West / USA.
@@bonsummers2657You are right, that is the Russian perspective and Russian military really covets Crimea as a port. But most people in Ukraine are not Russians. They speak Ukrainian as their mother tongue and Russia annexed them and forced Russification on them, just like China made Xinjiang its colony and forces Chinese on the Uyghurs. Japan also tried that with Korea and Taiwan. Colonialism always fails.
The Donbas region, and sort of Crimea, was more of wildlands, and that's why Russia took it over, it's what was done in the 1700's/1800's, and, Russia won't allow the loss of those lands to the West by way of Ukraine. @@markdouglas8073
Mr. Snyder, please continue to do this important job like in the discussion and to tell the truth about today, as well as about Ukrainian history. Long time it was covered by rotten russian lying propaganda!
China is doing the same with Tibet and Xinjiang. They always blame the West for colonialism that ended. But they are colonizing other nations right now, Muslim Uyghurs to steal their land and oil, and Tibetans who also have a different language and culture. All incorporated in their fake map as China. And they cannot wait to attack Taiwan and force a democracy to be a communist dictatorship under “Xi Jinping Thought.”
Great interview. You forget to mention (talking about "impressive" russian expansion) about all the ethnic cleansing and genocide committed in the colonized territories.
Brilliance Brilliance Brilliance. Nobody else is talking about German history in Ukraine or Dostoyevsky's writing as a part of this. Not to mention the better known brilliance of talking about Rashism.
As a Ukrainian whose family is affected by the russian war, I would like to have a Ukrainian side present to tell our point of view too. There is a great saying "nothing about us without us" that I feel is appropriate in this case.
@@kkpenney444 A good idea is to invite a Ukrainian volunteer or expert who knows the matter from inside. I have a great respect for Tymothy Snyder but he is not a Ukrainian, doesn't reside in Ukraine and cannot know all the context. Especially when interview comes from russian side, feels weird discussing what is happening in Ukraine without anyone who actually lives here.
As a Ukrainian, I am very pleased to hear an adequate analysis from Snyder. But there are drawbacks. I see how Snyder is trying to give a complimentary answer about russian culture. He constantly draws parallels between Russia and the USA to avoid accidentally accusing Russia of something. It's amazing to see. The USA and russia are like heaven and earth. It is impossible to compare them. The presenter again promotes these pro-Russian narratives that the West is supposedly tired of war. Only russia is tired...and it is profitable for them to promote such narratives. No matter how hard the presenter tries to look adequate, he remains a jerk to the marrow of his bones. When the presenter asks "is it fair that now Russian culture is mixed with fascism".....He and all Russians need to understand that 80 years have passed since World War II!!!!!!!!!!! and no one can say whether during the war itself the entire Italian culture was associated with fascism or not. Years must pass for this. And I very much doubt that all Jews have forgiven Germany for what it did to their people and will never EVER 100% forgive. Because such forgiveness is so easy, it will never happen. But I noticed that Russians..." good russians" want to be forgiven here and now...already...immediately. Damn racists - you have no right to demand from Ukrainians and from the world that they immediately forgive you and accept your cursed culture. Your culture is fake..it is the culture of evil. Few foreigners really understand what Tolstoy or Dostoevsky or Pushkin wrote about - they wrote about Russian imperialism...for example, Pushkin praised the Soviet Union's war of aggression in the Caucasus and the enslavement of the Caucasian peoples...moreover, he took part in it... and now the whole world speaks of Pushkin as an angel. Russia killed so many, tortured and destroyed Ukrainian poets and artists in general... if the world knew it... so many Ukrainians died in the Gulag... Russia always destroyed our culture... they always feared our culture... when in Ukraine (the previous name of Kyiv Rus) there were already universities, by the way, one of the first in Europe - there was not a single university in the Muscovite Empire! it's true... Russia, as a metropolis, has always drawn the most talented people from Ukraine and then called them in front of the whole world as Russians... 50% of the so-called russian writers, artists, scientists, and poets of Russia are Ukrainians... and no one knows about it knows...because once upon a time there was one empire and everyone was branded with the word "Russian" just because you were a colony in that empire. Russians need to understand that they will not get respect and forgiveness just like that...they need to earn it. And you will try for years to get this forgiveness and deserve to be treated equally with other countries. The world still does not understand that simple Russians are the real evil...they raised Putin. Just as simple Germans in the thirties of the 20th century adored Hitler, so now Russians adore the confused...they raised him. There are no innocent russians...there were no innocent ordinary Germans. Everyone in russia is guilty.

The reason of "schisofascism" is simple: in 1930's the word "fascism" did not have a negative connotation worldwide, before the WWII explored. Since a while, in a public, particularly in the former communist word, "Fascism" became a simple swear word, assuming that "fascist" is simply a bad guy, without deep analysis of the political phenomenon. Hence it became practical to call those one doesn't like "fascist", which means something like "bloody bastard". The perception of historians and political scientists simply is now different from the general public perception.
"particularly in the former communist word" Yeah, calling anyone you don't like a fascist is definitely something you hear very rarely in western democracies, especially these past few years...
It was because the Soviets couldn't call the Nazis either "Nazis/national socialists" (too close to Soviet socialists) or Germans (since they were helped by a dozen other counties and communism is supposed to be internationalist). (The other term used during the war was "Hitlerite".)
You are correct. Soviet propaganda never explained fascism in terms of dictatorship. Because if Russians knew what it was, they might want to fight their own government. So the meaning became diluted in the Russian consciousness. When Putin claimed Ukraine and Zelenskyy were Nazis, the West burst out laughing at that nonsense reason for war.
His surgical disassembly of the arguments made by the concessions for peace or so-called “realists” crowd is possibly the most important part of this video.
Ever heard of the Monroe doctrine ?!!
1823 ? Check it out and stop acting like an "international Nazi " fascist.

Absolutely. Noam Chomsky blaming putin’s invasion on the west and Ukrainian’s ideas of freedom broke my heart. The man who taught me about freedom seems to think only Americans deserve it.

_This_ is what generates the social miasma of ubiquitous nihilism that pervades where "morality" and any normatively asserted values merely become shields of performative piety, excuses of plausible deniability to ritually absolve the actions of pure self-interest that are reinforced _materially_ by *capitalism.*
I mean really, in the most important ways the nazis didn't really lose WWII.
Which is merely all to point out the _enormous_ ideological lacuna (or just plain disingenuousness) stemming from a chasm of historical understanding from Snyder, ironic given that is his supposed profession (similar to Anne Applebaum), and subsequently the reality that there's really only two choices for humanity, to echo Rosa Luxemburg's succinct political slogan (before being executed by the fascist paramilitary freikorps who later become that SS - shocker - directed by Ebert's ostensibly 'social democratic' SPD, splitting with the international socialists over the issue of war bonds during WWI):

Russia isn't fascist, at all. They're not exploiting resources or labor, and they're not shaming or putting jews and minorities in ghettos, they are autocratic though, they have a bunch of oligarchs in the government and they all have to obey a supreme leader. So its a mix of autocracy with oligarchy, and they are attacking civilians, so you could say that they are terrorists, like the Taliban or the narcos
About exploiting and Jews and minorities...Neither did Italy in the 1930's, and they proudly called themselves fascists@@Supernimo735

I think his answercwould be different. The French never accepted the loss of their Eastern provinces to Germany, so I hope macron doesn't want ukraine to do that either.
True. I live in Russia. It's a repressive society underpinned by mind control beyond the comprehension of anyone from the west, and the fear is very great in the population at large.

(yes we should ignore that religious freedom did not exist for 100s of years)
Indeed those enlightened values are present today in those who criticise colonialism. The rational reasons provided by the rulers are at odds with the country's culture.
"Science, poetry and thought are the lamps". History can always be revised.
The idea that identity is formed by interaction with others is a key theme of frankenstein. The creature was not made a monster, but became a monster because he was abandoned by frankenstein.
What or where is your society?
There was a lot of death and pillage in America, but likely not to the extent you're imagining. Most people died due to disease Europeans brought with them, and not because Europeans decided to murder them.
This interview was a noticeable step up for the channel. Congrats.

If the essence of fascism is having an external enemy and perceiving oneself as innocent in all situations, how is the U.S. not itself fascist?

I am here in may 2024. It is impressive how spot on his assessments still are, yet he made them almost 2y ago.
You are very brave to out yourself like this on the internet. Regardless of wether or not we agree politically I respect your honesty and openness.
The comment of the sane outlier here... TDS seems to have eaten Snyder's brain. And his wholly unsubstantiated regurgitation of the Russian collusion hoax. Fine historian but when it comes to analyze the reality in the country he is living in he is more than clueless
@@LoliLikesPedobear lol you actually think putin thought of trump as a 'threat' to be dealt with carefully?? There are none so blind as those who won't see.
America is the ultimate terrorised state which invaded dozens of countries, if America is nuked the whole world 🌍 sigh with relief
++++
Hi Mikhail Zygar, thanks for your articles in Spiegel!
So what, every time a foreigner is interviewed about Ukraine there has to be a Ukrainian present? Was Snyder wrong about you?
@@kkpenney444 A good idea is to invite a Ukrainian volunteer or expert who knows the matter from inside. I have a great respect for Tymothy Snyder but he is not a Ukrainian, doesn't reside in Ukraine and cannot know all the context. Especially when interview comes from russian side, feels weird discussing what is happening in Ukraine without anyone who actually lives here.
@@hann-pro This is ridiculous. You're allowing perfect to be the enemy of good. I guess we should all just shut up about you then. Good luck.
Yes. Seems to me there should be more explicit emphasis that US support for Ukraine is a national security issue, not a “foreign aid” issue.
He isn’t always right. But as close to real situation as American can be, probably.
Props to the interviewer his thoughtful self-awareness in his question formulation showed that he did his homework on Snyders work and made for a very interesting facilitator and moderator of the discussion.
Very good questions, hence very interesting answers. Subscribe!
Loved this, great guest!
Characteristics of fascism: 5:08 "the cult of a leader", "single party state", "beginning politics from the enemy", "mass propaganda". You're perfectly describing Trump's political agenda.
plus "glorifying a seemingly better past".
As Ukrainian can say that Timothy Sniders's pretty reasonable when he's talking about Ukraine and moskovia.
He reminds me Steven Martin from Roxana movie. The more hi lies the more his nose grows, like Pinokio's. He has "no comments option" for practically all his videos. The biggest Historian Lyer in the World. Hi from USA. 😁😁😁😁
It's very important for our future
Snyder said losing a war gives an opportunity to reconsider. Now that it is becoming clear to almost everyone that Russia is winning this war, will Snyder "reconsider" some of the babble he has stated in this interview?
Now that the us has finally passed another aid package to Ukraine will you reconsider your comment?
@@justsomedude77 Did you even look at that "aid package"? Doesn't change anything. Ukraine's situation has gotten even more dire since I wrote that comment, even with the aid. That Mearsheimer dig though… I want to see this guy and Kotkin in conversation with M
"particularly in the former communist word"
Yeah, calling anyone you don't like a fascist is definitely something you hear very rarely in western democracies, especially these past few years...
Not really. A schizofascist is a bad guy that does not know he is a bad guy, just like all the bad guys.
@@Saruman38 He's talking about where it started, not how it's used now only.
