Tried this. Didnt work for me unfortunately. Trying to go from 1803 to 1903 because 1806 failed as well. I also tried disconnecting external devices and usbs. Uninstalled norton antivirus. Uninstalled a bunch of drivers I thought might be a problem and started from fresh with the windows update - redownloading multiple times. Everytime the same thing happens: Used the updated assistant and regular windows update, it downloads and then reboots my computer, then i get the blue update screen and it goes to about 9% then reboots, then gets back to the blue update screen goes to exactly 48% and the whole thing just goes black forever. Checked the windows update history once i manually power down and reboot and it says Last Failed Install Attempt 0xc1900101. I'd reaaaallllyy prefer not to reformat to install. Any thoughts? Thank you!
same happens to me when I try to update from windows 1803 to 1903 and it also happend when i tried to update from windows 1803 to 1809 I got a blue screen and it restored to before the update.
Finally figured it out and got it to work. Something was screwed up with my Nvidia drivers. Had to completely uninstall and remove everything related to them to the point where there was no display driver whosoever. Then i tried the windows update and it worked.
Hello MDTech. I like your tutorials, how you explain all, seriously helpful. In this case, i can`t upgrade from vs 1809 to vs 1909. The download runs well, but when the system restart to update everything stop at 40%. Monitor black and I need swith on manually. The error is 0xC1900101, that appears in Windows Update Tab (Control Panel). Why? What do i should to do? What do you think? Thanks a lot!!!!! cheers
What about the update error code 0xc1900101-0x30004. Because that is the only error code I keep getting. And I don't have any antivirus software on my pc at all everything along with firewall and windows defender are disabled and still get the stupid error code it's like windows 10 is being a freaking nuisance and not wanting to upgrade from 7
When my computer attempted to upgrade from Windows 10 version 1803 to 1903, I got this message: Windows could not configure one or more system components: "To install Windows, restart the computer and then restart the installation." I followed that instruction but keep getting the same message.
@@MDTechVideos I am not sure what else I can say to elaborate. When the update to 1903 starts, it goes through all the installing, then at the end the message I noted pops up on the screen. When I click OK below the message, it goes through the uninstalling process and goes back to version 1803. The attempt to upgrade happened 5 times with the same unsuccessful results.

Hey, guys, I have had the same problem you’re having. I have run the update from v.1803 to v.1903 about 20 or 50 times already, with the same results. I think what I have to do now is to trash my computer and never, never, did I say never, use Windows ever again!!! Cuco Negron San Juan, PR
@@jimstelljes3925 I have the same problem . Uninstalled anti-virus and drivers no luck. Windows needs to fix this issue. I am afraid this never worked for me still fails I followed your instructions to the letter. Fails at the 2nd stage of installation at around the 60% stage and then tells me its returning my pc to what in was at 1909 and OS build 18363.788. Tired of this now that's the 8th time I have tried
Now on my 12th attempt this is what I have done so far. Followed your instructions to the letter- failed on same error. Then several attempts later I got a BMODE and a BSOD error so I updated all my drivers and this has cleared. Cleared all the recommended caches and total purged the failed updates Tried the update several times using a USB using a copy of WIN 2004 -failed again. The problem is that it goes through the 1st stage of the installation every time but then fails when the PC goes to update around the 50% mark on the second part which is soul destroying as it take about an hour or so every time. I cant really go down the clean installation road as I have far to may programs and files that I can not afford to loose and end up with a brick
@@austinhaynesmusic Hi Austin well I tried every suggestion there was on the web all to no avail. Perhaps you solved the problem, I don't know because I haven't tried your solution yet----but you have neglected to tell us what the problem was in the first place and why are we going through the machinations to begin with? What is being changed, or accomplished, here that has solved the problem you have neglected to explain to us or how this problem occurred.
To be frank with you Gerland, if you are looking for a potential cause, Google it. A vast majority of the people here want a quick answer, they don't want to be told about the problem they already have. Audience retention drops by 50% after the first 10 seconds, people want to skip to the solution. I think the goal is pretty straight forward: fix the problem. I am not here to reassure people of the validity of my work, especially since I have no clue what your setup is, what attempts you have already made of repair, or if you are even on the right tutorial, every viewer is a crap-shot in my opinion. Hope I cleared it up for you, have a good day.
