Ack... The tricks didn't work for me. I'm on 1803 and 1903 is refusing to install. I've tried to remove a few old drivers dated 2013. I've done the DISM repair and it found nothing wrong. SFC scan does nothing. The registry rename didn't do anything. Tried updating through Windows Update, USB Drive, Windows Upgrade Assistant. Nothing worked. My last attempt is trying to use the Media Creation Tool. Right now it's at "Undoing changes made to your computer" after trying the Provisioning rename. I'm at a loss as to why it's failing. It takes a long time to try difference upgrades due to a spinning hard drive and an AMD 2.2GHz CPU. Aaaaaa! Damn you Microsoft!
@@art3mis307 @Lachlan Mulcahy I did eventually fix it and get the new 1903 update. Luckily I was on 1803, so I downloaded the 1809 ISO from Microsoft's page (do a search, you can still get the current and the previous version directly from their Media Creation Tool page by doing some browser/mobile tweaks.). So I upgraded from 1803 to 1809, that went successfully. Then I was able to update from 1809 to 1903 successfully. If you're already on 1809, not sure what else you could do, but maybe try reinstalling 1809 then the update to 1903. Or try waiting for next feature upgrade.
Why edit the interior settings of the provisioning folder, then rename it to .OLD? Windows will make a new one, but will it pull it from the .old file?

Thomas Tommy when 1809 was still out and I tried to update from 1803 to 1809 it failed the same way.
