I think it’s actually works out to be kind of less valuable. $1USD=$1.37AUD. People earn a much higher wage in Australia because everything cost way more than in the US. Minimum wage in the US is STILL only $7.25/hr, while Australia’s is $20.33!
@@kristy1653 that may be true, but the Australian dollar is still worth less, and factoring in currency conversion fees and changing value rates, along with very high shipping costs, buying anything in USD costs a lot more than it does to buy it in the US. Also, that minimum wage would be for someone who is 18-22, depending on your job. I'm 21 and get paid about $23/h I believe, but when I was 15 I got paid less, probably around $14-$17. For example, working at maccas at 15 the minimum is around $12/h. @@LiahariEren Yes, I’m actually agreeing with you that the Australian dollar is worth less. About $110k per year. 52 weeks about 2,115 a week. 1 hour early and late at Australian average work week of 38 hours so 48 hours with the rest of the 24/7 spent as on call. Seems to pay about $44 Australian per hour which goes down about 90¢ per extra hour worked. Down to $12.59 per hour if one actually could and did work 24/7 hours week.
@@JohnThomas-ut3go I'm not sure how Aussie labor law works, but if you are on call, you need to be paid to be on call in the US. The lady asking for $600/month AND a baby sitter is out right insane. She's not paying you to babysit, thats on her. And considering 3:15-2:30 AM is the hours when most jobs are going to be hiring people to work, that means OP expects someone to only work on the 3 days they don't have to babysit. If you work 8 hours a day at minimum wage you will bring home just about $600 a month exactly, meaning this woman is expecting someone to litterally pay her every single penny they make all so that they can babysit a child 4 days a week for 11 hours a day. Also, your expected to not take a single day off, everyday you aren't baby sitting your working or else you can't afford the rent. That lady is so detached from reality it is honestly worrying. Edit: Oh shit, and the very next one. "What skills will you need? You'll need ALL the skills in order to do this job!" OK? All of them? For the 100 hour work week post… that literally leaves barely over ONE AND A HALF HOURS per day to wake up, get ready, travel to work, AND travel home, shower, and get ready for bed if the employee were to actually get 8 hours of sleep per night. Also, that minimum wage would be for someone who is 18-22, depending on your job. I'm 21 and get paid about $23/h I believe, but when I was 15 I got paid less, probably around $14-$17. For example, working at maccas at 15 the minimum is around $12/h. Im not sure how age factors into minimum wage in the US, because in Aus it goes up a little every year until you turn 22 if I remember right correctly
@@LiahariEren Yes, I’m actually agreeing with you that the Australian dollar is worth less. The point I was making about the minimum wage was just that America’s is still so pitifully low and hasn’t changed in 13 years. It’s still $7.25/hr regardless of age. And tipped employees can make as little as $2.13/hr (depending on the state), therefore basically relying solely on their tips to survive.
@@kristy1653 ah OK, I misinterpreted what you meant. I knew the wage was bad and I've always despised the reliance on tipping culture, but I hadn't realised a full ass adult could be paid the same as a minor or not even earn minimum wage
The phrases “7-8 seat SUV” and “Good on gas” are not compatible with each other.
And if that racist choosing beggar wants to just cover the 3d printer filament, the OP should have just sent them a spool of filament with a note saying “you get what you pay for” and just charged for the shipping and filament

That insane job posting has me asking these questions:
- If you have to be on the job 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, how can you arrive early and leave late?
- When are you allowed breaks or an 8-hour sleep period?
- Is there an apartment above the worksite the potential employee can stay in?
- How many employees is the owner willing to hire so everyone can have proper breaks?
- Is the owner willing to put in the same amount of hours and work they expect of the potential employee/s?
They don't need to be on-site 24/7.
@@JohnThomas-ut3go so about 9.20 usd an hour if it was 24/7
@@JohnThomas-ut3go I'm not sure how Aussie labor law works, but if you are on call, you need to be paid to be on call in the US. My dad was a plumber, he would often take the on-call weekend shifts, because it meant extra money. I don't think it was full pay, probably something like half pay if he wasn't called in, but still.

"Butt pot." The whole thing was hilarious.
Idk man, if I needed an Airbnb and only had to pay $100 in exchange for taking care of some cute doggies I’d probably take it…but only if it’s $100 total. If it’s $100 a day then hell no 😂

Posts of people looking for a nanny for babysitter can really show who is capable of being a parent and who isn't.
As well as show red flags
Alright, well I currently am not able to juggle so I guess I can't apply for the job, don't have that skill. I also have a hard time snapping my fingers, so I guess that disqualifies me as well. I also don't know a single word of Bengali so that disqualifies me too I guess. Oh wait, none of those skills are required to do basically any job in the US? Well thats weird, your applications says I need all the skills.
Damn, I can't lick my elbow. Guess I'm not qualified.
For the 100 hour work week post… that literally leaves barely over ONE AND A HALF HOURS per day to wake up, get ready, travel to work, AND travel home, shower, and get ready for bed if the employee were to actually get 8 hours of sleep per night. So much for any social/personal/home life. You’d literally only have time for work and sleep EVERY DAY.
I Love your "entitled voice" it makes me smile and and be prepared to hear real justice 😁❤️

Her husband is military too, so she is probably in military housing, and the military makes damn good money if you are even somewhat smart about it. Going on deployment? You do so much casual math it's nuts. At fist it was no so much, the you started breaking things down to hours and bills. Good for you. This is like my 3rd of 4th separate subscription, thanks for the content
Rslash, it’s worse than a 40k salary in terms of hours. Because the US, that has some of the most relaxed labor laws, requires 1.5 time after 40 hours, 2x after 60 hours, and 3x after 80 hours. So it’s closer to a 20k job if divided by your time at work.
Not to mention, you get paid to be on call, I don't think a full wage, but that's lowering it even further

0:18 ffs this is something that always gets me riled, Why do people that can't provide for a family, have kids, like why
Not sure where you are, but where I live, birth control was demonized for a long time, even for married couples. Sex ed is also discouraged, so there were a ton of teenage pregnancies. Pretty sure some neighborhoods and schools around here that are still super religious are still that way. I know I didn't know much about preventing pregnancy until my little sister became a single teen mom. It's depressing, tbh. Sex ed should be encouraged
Single Mom pregnant with another kid. Where is/are the sperm donor(s)?
Right?? Fair enough if the kid was unplanned, or if the financial situation changed after having kids, but in most of these posts that's clearly not the case.
