    In regards to the statement, "who carries around bills?" If you live in Florida, hurricane season can knock out electricity for a while so it's always smart to have a few weeks of expenses in cash for buying things until it gets back up and running.

      Yeah in Wisconsin ice storms are now common and it's smart to have cash just in case the ice storms freeze the antenna on stores that allow cards to be read. My store had ours knocked out for a week due to ice freezing the dish and us not being able to get a dude out to fix it. This is likely to get more and more common and severe in the coming years as well.

      ??? I live in Florida. Even when our power was out for two weeks following a hurricane, we still used a card to pay for things? Because businesses either had a a back up generator to provide power...or closed down? Who would go to work in a building with no power, and who would shop there? Even WALMART closed down during that time.

    The homelessness ones hit way too close to home for me as that is how I started out my adult life. I was 15 and was able to learn how to make it living under cardboard for several months to finally living in an apartment, finish school, and build the life I have now. The terrible thing about living that life is that when you try to leave it behind you, the physical and mental stress and injuries will catch up with you and wreak havoc in your later years. The upside is that my wife & I have helped a lot of kids and their kids from having to go down that road. I guess that's why I'm a rolling Santa every year. The funny part is that I absolutely love my no drama life so I am the shelter in eye of a hurricane when the kids need me. Yes, the kids are in their 30s but they'll always be my kids!

      How does a kid end up homeless? That has to include some major screw up by parents and officials...
      Being kicked out at that age is awful and should have legal consequences for the parents at least they have to pay for the kids stay in some kind of help program...
      The second thing that hurts is, that apparently no one was bothered by a homeless minor and that there isn't any kind of help program that send for teenagers that picked you up to offer a place in a shared living facility for teenagers after repors about a homeless teen were made...
      I'm pretty sure that many countries have these programs and have legal measures against parents kicking out teens that aren't legal adults yet.
      That's such a sad story about so many people messing up or deliberately ignoring a young person...

    • @jaspr1999
      @jaspr1999 2 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      @@annasstorybox7906 - The first question, how did I end up getting kicked out, I dated someone I liked that my parents didn't.
      The next part is, it was the 80s so no one paid attention to another dirty face on the street. Not a whole lot different today but there is more help available than there was then. Still, orphanages for teens were a VERY bad idea and a straight line to reformatories.
      All my life I've watched people step around or step over someone that may be asleep or dead and no thought about that person was ever given. It's why I do what I do and I do it from my wheelchair. I try to not be cynical about the world but I know how uncaring it really is. Very few want to personally do anything about it, they just complain to some public office but the only way things get done in the world you describe is by doing things yourself and learning who needs help and who is just trying to take advantage of you.
      I do apologize for being so bad at wording but I have never learned a better way of answering your questions. I hope I made sense.

      This is exactly why giving money to homeless people you don't know is a pointless crapshoot. If you want to help them, give them supplies like nonperishable food, warm clothes/blankets, clean water, or occasionally a small tent. It's less likely to just be burned on drugs and even if they do somehow end up trading it for cash to buy drugs, at least your charity is ultimately going to someone other than their dealer and it'll most likely be another homeless person that you're helping.

I told him, "That's a vacuum cleaner belt" and offered to go talk to the shop owner to clear things up, and he left. The woman looking for a free photographer annoyed the hell out of me. I used to do art modeling before my chronic pain issues got worse & I exclusively did TFP shoots _for my friends_ - I never hit up photographers that I didn't know, purely because I was flat broke, so I knew I wouldn't be able to pay them LOL
    Art trades just don't work like this, regardless of the mediums being used. If you're going to trade an artist something for their work, it either needs to be money or an art project of your own - for example, one of my art friends makes little crocheted dolls. In exchange for her doll of Caduceus Clay, I'm sending her one of the edited/reworked Monster High dolls I make. A doll for a doll, effort for effort.

    second story: i would have played the stock photo game too and sent him stock pics of money and mansion claiming it was mine XD then watch him say: this is not your photo! you're lying! Or... i would show a pic of my pc like: here's 1.5K XD

      I was thinking the same thing, re: the bathroom story. Another way to split the space would be to partition either the living room or bedroom. It's not ideal, but sometimes people can share a space that way.
      But I don't think anything will work out with her, really, since she's trying to split a one bedroom apartment while being completely separate from the other person. I understand a person being hard up for money, but that kind of arrangement is nigh impossible.

    About the wedding one: "You guys don't have jobs?" Yeah CB they have, that's why they are doing it instead of doing your stupid wedding photos for "exposure"
    About the beggars ones: sometimes near my old work there was a woman with a kid asking for money to buy food. I instead always got her a to-go meal in the restaurant I went for lunch, and she always gladly accepted. If people are really in need for food, they'll always accept things like food direct or help in getting food like how to get stamps;
    If they claim they want food but are A: picky about it or B: insisting they prefer money it's either a scam or money for drugs instead.

    • @CidVeldoril
      @CidVeldoril 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@CidVeldoril Tbf I don't consider telling someone "hey, can you get something without X? I'm allergic" being picky;

      The key is to never offer money in the first place. Instead of cash, my folks keep home-made hygiene care packs in their cars. Toothbrush, toothpaste, a clean pair of socks, a washcloth, a comb... It's also worth having a 'feminine' hygiene care pack with sanitary napkins inside. The care packs last way longer than most food items would (pure honey lasts forever since bees are so ascetic). Giving out care packs instead of cash is much better, since it'll be easier to tell who really needs it and who doesn't. Those who only want cash are typically addicts. Anyone truly in need will be grateful for the care pack.

It probably won't go through the door, especially not if it's a twin, and it will take at least 3,5 minute to deflate it enough so "you" can move it...
    You know what they say "Well when you gotta go you gotta go, right?"

    Chances are, the "professional model" is an Instagram model with absolutely 0 experience working with professionals. Most likely she's also used to having sponsors offer her some token free samples and some money for shout outs. That's why she thinks she's being oh so generous and "low maintenance" by giving you that exposure AND access to the party for free.

    If I ever see a woman begging for help with a sign with children I'm calling CPS on them immediately because 99% of the time it's a scam thing that they're doing. Plus it's probably child abuse by having them out there in The god-awful Heat 2

    Many beggars are not really unemployed or down on their luck. I once saw 'shift change' at an intersection near work. Two men of similar appearance, dressed identically. One dropped a backpack under a shrub, crossed to the median, and took the sign from the man already there. That man then walked away.

    I've become something if a translator here for the sub species known as the "Karenos integritous" let me try to explain the dialect here "Would love to collab" Appears to be english for "Bum off YOUR time and effort alone" And "You'll get exposure" seems to be Karen for "You'll get to work for me without compinsation cause I can't afford your work but still give it to me." Truly fascinating language these mammals have created.

    Here is my rant about the "homeless" beggars in my city... They aren't asking for food or jobs, just MONEY. Many of them should just be called con artists. IN my city, you can tell where the "homeless" have been begging on any given day because they leave behind unopened food and/or trash where they stood. We have many shelters, food pantries and charities that will help anyone in need.

    My dad once had a similar thing happen to him. He was in another town for work and saw a lady with her baby asking for money to feed the kid. He gave her enough money to buy formula and walked off. Later he went to a bar to have something. He saw that lady then and there ordering alcohol. Since then he never hands out cash. He usually asks these people to go with him and pick some food. Or offer a paid meal nearby. He also saw the absolute piece of a choosing beggar. A man complain somebody gave him too little money. He refuses to give any money to that man since then.

    During a snowstorm, I was waiting for my bus, decided to stop at a... Subway or Blimpie, forgot which it was... and one guy walked in and was just hanging around, and when someone was going to toss out half a sub, the guy politely stopped him, then took the tray and wolfed down the sub like anything. I felt bad, 'cause I only had my token (yeah, *that* long ago, and I was still in school) and pennies in change, but man, if anyone ever needed food, it was that guy.
