      I felt that line. That shit hurt. D-12 was bomb but Shady blew up, now they're all gone. I can really hear the the pain in the verse about this. There's so much to unpack in this one line. I can't imagine what Em felt when he wrote this. Idk wtf I'm even sayin, I just relate to losing people you THOUGHT were family and having that hit harder than losing blood family. GET Em. In the end only you look out for you. GOAT.

      @@haj619 yeah, altho it's sad to see where Swifty and Kuniva are now compared to Em. When D12 formed, I could see all of them being very popular. Especially Swifty. No one talks about him but he had talent. Many MCs under Shady Records and those related to him..most of them just stay underrated for some reason. Swifty, Porter, Kuniva, Crooked. Even Royce is underrated. He should do some songs with them. Swifty released an album 2 years ago but I doubt anyone even knows about it.
      It would be so awesome seeing these people jump on the track again with Em when someone beefs with him. They absolutely smoked everlast and ja when they were on the diss tracks, and seeing all this lord jamar, joe budden, nick stuff, it would be great to see how the group toys with them.

  • @scamrasc

    It's so fascinating that he feels guilt for not being able to maintain the pressure of holding up the careers of d12 as well as his own career....that he couldn't "provide" in a way for the others, or an even worse feeling..... a sneaky little guilt inside him that he "used" them as stepping stones to his own phenominal career.
    That's not what happened and everybody knows it - eminem never abandoned his people when he blew up. He tried very hard to bring them all with him. He supported their ventures, brought them in on his own, brought them on his tours, and frequently stepped back on d12 records to let the other guys shine for a bit. He tried hella fucking hard.......but as he admits, that pressure of carrying everyone was starting to get to him, on top of all his WELL documented personal shit, and then Proof's death shook everyone to their core and really sealed the fate.
    I just find it so interesting the mindset that he feels he should apologise to them......for, basically, the fact of his own success...even though he acknowledges that they don't harbour resentment, it's still just what he feels.
    He must be an INCREDIBLY loyal person.

      Frankly, I don't think D12 would have become even remotely famous without Eminem. I don't know how they sounded before Devil's Night, but that album, to me, is an extension of the slim shady persona. They copied his formula to try and make it sound more like the slim shady LP. Fans loved the slim shady stuff, so it was only logical for them to want more of the same, which was Devil's Night.
      If they had to do it without Em's star power and industry connections, they might have remained unknown.

    • @cjb444220
      @cjb444220 4 ปีที่แล้ว +17

      @@krasiomilchev160 yeah I agree. I think without Eminem attached to D12 they would not have been as popular as they were. I think this still a good chance they may have been popular locally. And maybe even ended up with a hit or two but I feel like having Eminem as part of the group was a double-edged sword. Because he was obviously the best lyricist out of the group . There's no question about that. Proof was right behind him. But once Eminem started to get more popular and didn't have as much time to spend working on D12 and having proof die. Everything fell apart. Having D12 without Eminem isn't the same so having him around in the beginning helped them out a lot. But it also hurt them in the end when he wasn't able to keep up with everything. And I'm pretty sure they do harbor some resentment. I know Kuniva does or did. And Swifty. From what I've heard there's alot of stuff that happened behind closed doors. Em would take them off songs without telling them etc. But either way, in the end I don't feel like he should blame himself for anything. I feel like he did try to do his best with them. But as I stated before not all of them were amazing there was this . In especially with the way things are now having bizarre on a song talking about raping his grandmother wouldn't go over as well as it did in early 2000 period because even then it didn't exactly go over well LOL

    It's nice that he laid this one down for his friends. I hope he puts any regrets on this topic to bed now, it isn't his fault they didn't blow up. If anything, they wouldn't have likely made a fraction of the money or impact they were able to without him caring enough to allow D12 to happen at all. His talent gave them more exposure than 99.9% of aspiring rappers will ever get.

    • @KafanskaTV
      @KafanskaTV 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Exactly. Without Eminem they would never even get a chance to rap anywhere outside of a few Detroit spots. He pushed them, gave them a chance to earn money, gave them exposure.. he owes them nothing. They were simply never that good to stand on their own.

      Kafanska TV And you missed the point Jesus Christ Eminem “Fans” don’t listen to him I swear to god. Eminem feels that if he never joined D12 these guys would have been bigger because they wouldn’t have been overshadowed by his rising star. Regardless of how Eminem fans feel the guys were talented but it’s hard for people to see your gifts if you’re literally rapping next to one of the best rappers in the game. That’s where his guilt is the members don’t want nothing from Eminem but he’s said they feel they can’t talk to him.

      The plan was put everyone in position so that they knew how to stand on they own"
      "I love all of you, men
      But I just can't be the guy
      Everybody depends on for entire careers
      'Cause that's not even fair"
      Here is where he clearly say he doesn't want to carry the group on his shoulders. And, let's not lie, most of them were average at best who would never get any shine if there wasn't for Em. He is the one who carried them higher then they ever would go without him.
      Before Proof died he was the leader of the group, and after he died they also turned to Em for leadership, as well as riding his coat the entire career, and he simply saya I hoped you would blow up and stand on your own so I don't have to take care of all of you. But they didn't, because they weren't good on their own. And Em wasn't in a state of mind to pull them forward. He became a recluse, left if all behind to focus on himself, year later it just wasn't the same
      I just noticed the oomf was gone when we go in the booth
      'Cause the truth is, the moment that Proof died, so did the group
      And maybe they fell betrayed for it, but they had no right to. He brought them up, and let them stand on their own. They couldn't, they fell.

    • @jerrymoore8701
      @jerrymoore8701 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Kafanska TV But Eminem said in his interview with sway it’s still all love and they don’t blame him. Eminem himself felt it was his duty to carry the group no one told him to do this listen to shit like yellow brick road he’s very aware that his star wouldn’t be as big if he wasn’t white and with everyone ignoring his friends who once again I not going to agree with you the other members of D12 are way above average as you keep saying their freestyles show that. I’m not sure what other rap groups you’ve listened to but once again when you’re rapping on the same song with one of the best you’ll look average. Shoot, many great players never got their shine because Michael Jordan was so dominant at the game and Eminem is MJ. Listen to some of the other guys solo projects they are good remove add Eminem then your ear will be like well it’s no mmlp

And realistically, the generally relied on Eminem to make hits and he couldn't carry them forever.

    The reality em will never get is he is just flat out much more talented than any of them. He can’t see it because they are his idols and mentors and peers. But they had no shot if going big without him. I have them a chance as a kid and a shady fan. They were all great but not undeniable like slim. It’s not his fault he was simply better and destined to be big time
