This was the best Husker moment I've ever experienced in person... ... and it wasn't even at Memorial Stadium. Every cent that I spent that weekend to get to College Station and back was totally worth it.
This year in Nebraska football was such a wasted year. The team was so much better than the record showed. Shoulda outright won the Big 12. The coaching staff was just so bad! This drive and the 27 point underdog win in Boulder against Colorado were the lone highlights of the entire Callahan era.
well 3 years later and its BIG 10 and now we are probably going to the big 10 title game. I love A&M and i love Nebraska in 2010 it was a big game for me to watch whether to side with my dad (Big RED) or my mom (aggie). in the end i felt bad for both and felt good for both. A&M doing pretty good in the SEC and nebraska is kinda apart in the big 10 but they're getting better, just 2-5 more years and we got a powerhouse.
I'm a Husker fan! I love playing @ Texas A&M! Such a tough place to play! Oh yeah I remember this game! But Callahan sucks! Can't wait to play there next year! Go Huskers! Beat Colorado! Beat Texas!
I'm a die hard husker fan, but I will admit that the roughing penalty was very weak. Watching it in slow-mo doesn't do it justice. At full speed, you can tell he let up after the throw and contact was incidental. Don't feel too bad for the Aggies though since they got away with murder in the 2010 game.
Little known trivia: on the roughing the passer play near the end of the game, Zac Taylor tore his sac. Thereafter being known as Zac "the Sac" Taylor.
4:42 You don't want to get greedy, you don't want to turn the ball over on a greedy throw. Frost should make every QB watch this video & make them memorize that line.
I can't believe I missed this game...I guess it was for good reason though, I only missed it because my HS team was in the playoffs (and eventually won :D) Go Huskers! National Title '07
@whiteman800 It's exactly what the announcer said. It wasn't necessarily as violent as Osborne's on Saturday (which was still a legal hit, he didn't lead with his head) but it was a hell of a lot later. Watch as #94 takes two steps before he hits Taylor. Osborne took 0 steps from the time Tannehil released the ball to the time he made contact.
We'll be good next year, but powerhouse? I don't think we can go that far. Yet. We'll have to play some tough teams, Oklahoma, Kansas, Colorado, and Baylor's probably going to be better than people are expecting. I'm excited, though.
Man I'm gonna miss Nebraska when they leave for the Big 10. Our conference, the Big 12, just got that much less interesting. It's like taking the Yankees or Red Sox from their AL Division.
+Ocho6012 Definitely all the awful calls and the A&M player grabbing Ben Cottons balls and Cotton getting flagged for kicking him off still pisses me off to this day.
this should be titled "game tying drive". Video ends with it 27-27? This was Callahan's one good year. I went to the Big 12 Championship in KC and it was like 10 below zero that night.
since colorado now officially sucks the only thing u can do is put bad comments on Nebraska vids. Nebraska/CU isnt even a rivalry colorado thinks it is but it really is a rivalry between a hammer and a nail.
I was at this game in the nebraska band. We were losing our minds.
Zac Taylor is now the head coach of the Cincinnati Bengals.
Zach "The Boy" Taylor does it again. He was the man and saved Callahan's ass a lot.
And by tonight he might just be a super bowl champion
Taylor was a QUALITY QB. He got let down a lot. Maybe not the #1, but really good.
This was the best Husker moment I've ever experienced in person...

I am a Husker fan from texas and I was at this game, the best game I have ever seen live.
I was at this game. Totally classy aTm fans. Love that place. Zac Taylor = one of NU's best ever.
Fun Fact: Zac Taylor is Mike Sherman's son-in-law. Mike Sherman was the Aggies head coach at the time if you didn't know that.
This is not true. I think this game is 2006 and that would have been Franchione as Texas AM head coach. Does the coach look like Mike Sherman to you?
@@stevenfortney2752 You're sure about that? I could've sworn Sherman was the coach at A&M in '06.
Listen to the crowd after Purify catches the winning td, a lot of Husker fans there in Aggieville.

what about when they put up 70 against k state? lol either way it was a shitty ass staff especially defensively
Caleb Jurgensen the mich alamo bowl as well
Game of the century!! Gotta love Nebraska Football. Go Big Red!
I like that he went to Peterson again after the drop. in 2 minutes, you can't hold grudges.

Beat Texas!
Unfortunately, the only thing Nebraska fans have to feel excited about is You Tube videos from 10 years ago. Never should have left the Big 12.

yes it was a bad call but not near as bad as the year before lol
He hit after he threw the ball
Ah yes. Zac "the man" Taylor. One of my favorites. Saved Callahan's ass a couple times.

Taylor would have been like Sam Bradford had he had a good O-line, anyone can throw a good pass when u get that great of protection.
I remember thinking at 51 seconds left there was no way they were gonna win. I couldn't beleve purify cought that ball. soooo exciting.
Callahan was the worst thing to happen to Nebraska football. But on this drive, I loved him.
No, Scott Frost is much worse than Bill Callahan.
@@Patrick-sg7cm if somehow he could see the future 10 years ago....
Why do I revisit the nightmare of Billy C on the sideline?
Get over it
Much better than the current nightmare Nebraska has on the sideline
@@Patrick-sg7cm billy c was not better than SF. You’re delusional.
@@JB-uv4hm look at Scott Frost's record 13-21. At least Bill Callahan had a couple winning seasons at Nebraska.
@@Patrick-sg7cm off of FS teams. Then he ran it into the ground. BC is not a better coach for NU than SF. Discussion over.
Go BIG RED!!!!!
Future father-in-law throwing up the arms to signal the TD is priceless.
btw i was at the 2010 game.
big ups to taylor and purify that drive was fuckin amazing saw it in person and almost shit myself
The fact that that many Cornhuskers fans made it all the way down those sh@tty roads to College Station is something in of itself.

That was one of the longest 1:53mn I've ever had...
This makes me feel a little bit better about the virginia tech game, but I am still pretty pissed they made that bomb!!!
Man I'm gonna miss Nebraska when they leave for the Big 10. Our conference, the Big 12, just got that much less interesting. It's like taking the Yankees or Red Sox from their AL Division.
Plot Twist: Nebraska football is terrible now.
sweet man
HA HA! its so awesome, the stadium just gets dead silent when the refs raise their arms (well except for the Nebraska section and band). GO BIG RED!!!
Cut the video short! why?
awesome prediction we won 10 games and the big 12 north......weird
Aggies cheated SHÎT in 2010
+Ocho6012 Definitely all the awful calls and the A&M player grabbing Ben Cottons balls and Cotton getting flagged for kicking him off still pisses me off to this day.
Yeah fuck that game I remember that shit.
@huskerboy1212 ik thts exactly what I thought
lol...even the dog is contributing to the famous 12th man.....

They went on to kick the extra point dip shit
I know that. Just commenting that they didn't show the actual "win". I didn't know an extra point was a 100% given.
The Alamo Bowl win over Michigan was another great game during the Callahan era
Zach Taylor flamed out and disappeared...derp.
He's an NFL head coach. Not exactly flamed out and disappeared.

7:08 - I'm a Husker fan and I don't like that call... that's a rather ticky tack roughing call
Why do they always start with the I'm a Husker fan lie?
@Bensker yep. the guy could have literally stopped and stood there. doesn't have to be a hard hit if its 5 seconds after the ball is out of his hand
ya i was at that game it was rediculous. the cu fans were a bunch of sore losers.
what a horrible call, at least the one against nebraska could be made a case for since the guy led with the crown of his helmet
Good thing he caught that pass so he could go home and enjoy a nice relaxing night of bar fights and getting DUIs.
You still a miserable fan?
Nebraska football 2019 preview
#blackdiamondpress_19*% ...dis Great Audio!!!!!!!!!! "still Plenty of TIME",......!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Jr.Jr.
Bill Callahan was better than Mike Riley! Taylor was an excellent QB, really accurate arm and mind.
I hope Zach succeeds at Cincinnati.
What a weak foul
they did not win
we got a last second field goal and won
Lol A&M lost
they did not win
