Great video and timely for me! I just got some Anchovy hops in my latest hop box from Yakima Valley. This gives me some ideas on what to do with them. Cheers!
I just brewed a pale ale with anchovy hops and get the same flavor notes that you guys get. Kinda disappointing that it's nothing like the description on yakima valley hops. It's still a nice hop, but I'd say lemon pith is the main flavor for this one.
I find that Chico really drives that “candied” flavor in fruity and citrusy hops. I wonder how some of these hops would present with a yeast like LA3 which tends to bring out “riper” and less-refined flavors. So many variables in brewing!
I've come to learn that there is a scale kind of when you let friends and family and whoever tastes your brew. You get a slew of different descriptions of the beer and most don't agree with yours as the brewer cause they don't understand the differences between styles of beer. At least that's what happens to me

Let us know how it goes! Cheers! -Mike
I have to say that I initially thought I slept through the entire winter and woke up on April 1st when I saw the title of this video 😂
Someone in the marketing department must have a stroke when they decided the name of this hop
Just watch this become the next citra. Hipsters and meme culture are/is weird.
It would be like naming it butt crack. 😅

Thinking the hop may be good in a sour, maybe a saison.
agree that so many differences are tiny/insignificant between lots of varieties
Nice job guy! What a weird one.
