One piece of advice that maybe could help you sound more authentic with your Finnish pronunciation: the stress of a word is always on the first syllable. So "VARmista", not "varMISta". Nice reaction to this absolute madness. :D

It is from this video that got me understand this band.
"Lataa" means "load" and "varmista" means "ensure, verify, or confirm." In this instance it means "lock and load." BTW, Turmion Kätilöt means "The Midwives of Ruin."
I would translate it as Midwives of Decadence. "Turmio" can mean many things but judging from this bands lyrics, videos etc. it's not ruin or destruction. In finnish "decadence" translates as "rappio" among other which by defination is moral degradarion.
I've alway felt like "turmio" on the bands name has to do with indecency. But that's just my opinion.

You're not far off with your thoughts about an S&M themed concert. TK used to have concerts where they had people swinging on hooks through their backs and playing with angle grinders and the like. I think some of it is still available on youtube as part of their live DVD.
