The misogyny in the comments on multiple of these reaction videos is so disheartening. As a female BlindWave fan, one of my favorite things about this channel is how lovingly they review media that's made for the female gaze. Love that they do Bridgerton, for example. I'd love for this series to continue even post eras tour.
I have followed Blind Wave for a very long time for this reason. They're not afraid to put out new content, especially that which might go against what could be conceived as their 'core audience' tastes. No matter who you are, you can find content to watch here and it is given as much love and attention as any of the 'standard' content that most reactors do. Sometimes more. I am happy Eric was included in these reactions as he always has a keen appreciation for music and scores, which is one of the reasons I love the Game of Thrones reactions so much.
Is it because they are reacting to Kpop and K-drama too? Is it not manly enough for them? Why would you just visit a video just to write a hate comment? I don't understand it. I don't like Marvel movies but I don't go to the videos to complain, I just scroll past.
@@Eiko286 This. My thing is, if you don't like something don't watch it. However that misogyny is very prevalent in a lot of male dominant fandoms, not just with content creators. For example, I love Star Wars, and have for most of my life. However I have had to disengage with the fandom because as a woman it's no longer a safe space. You can't like something different. You can't have an opinion outside of everything sucks w/o having people throw the most vile, disgusting & degrading comments your way. I have always felt Blind Wave to be a safe space and a lot of that has to do with opening up the channel to new and different content, attracting different audiences and making the experience an overall appealing one.
Marjorie is one of the most special parts of the night, it made me cry. Then came Champagne Problems (back then that was the order) and I was sobbing for a good ten minutes straight lol
Big hugs to everyone during Marjorie. ❤️ Today is the first anniversary of my grandfather’s passing and even when I listen to this song before he left us it would still have me bawling my eyes out. Much love to you all!
Sending love right back to you ❤️ I’m so sorry for your loss. This song always makes me think of my mother. Lost her over ten years ago but still miss her with all my heart.
When you end all the eras, you should keep listening to Taylor's songs that she doesn't play on the Eras Tour! She has so many good ones that i think you would like!! Example: Exile, Cowboy like me, New Romantics, The moment i knew, Maroon, You're on your own, kid, Evermore, Getaway car and many more!!!😅
Marjorie hits different for me. When I went to the Eras Tour, I thought about how I was trying to get in touch with my roots as a Filipino. The line "what died didn't stay dead" resonates with me.
"If it's all in my head", could also refer to when she tries to communicate with her partner, she gets told she's imagining things, she's been emotional over nothing.
Fun fact! Taylor was inspired to write Tolerate It while reading the book Rebecca by Daphne Du Maurier. Marjorie always makes me tear up, I lost my grandma the same age that Taylor lost her's and she was my favorite person in the world. The lines that hit me hardest are "And I complained the whole way there...I should have asked you questions, I should have asked you how to be". Even though I was just a kid I can't help but look back at all the times I spent with my grandma and we only talked about me and how there are so many things I wish I had talked to her about. I feel so selfish looking back. Also the line "Should have kept every grocery store receipt cause every scrap of you would be taken from me" breaks my heart, that even something as mundane as a receipt with my grandma's signature was taken by time and that eventually she will only exist in my fading memories. On that happy note, the first song I learned to play on the ukulele was champagne problems! Very easy repeating notes :)
Yes she said out loud that she was reading Rebecca and that she realized that the character was only tolerating his wife. It probably illuminated something in her own life but I believe she was inspired by books and movies at the time and wasn’t outright lying.
During the pandemic when I lost my job and I was so bummed out this album and folklore were played on repeat. It holds a special place in my heart & it is not an easy listen the first few times. Really hits home on the emotions.
@@purplepurple8787 So sorry to hear that. It really was a rough time for so many people for so many different reasons. I love listening to these albums now cause they’re a reminder even during the hard times good things can happen that connect people. These albums are great examples.
Same! I was out of work for 18 months due to the pandemic and Folklore and Evermore were the sadness rafts that I clung to. I would stay up late every night working on a 5000 piece puzzle and crying to these albums in my headphones 😂
I agree with you. But people can interpret different things from songs. And I didn’t want to stop Eric from trying to figure out what he was feeling when hearing the song. ❤️
My sister and I lost our grandmother in May of 2020. As if that year wasn't hard enough, our family lost the matriarch of our clan. It was the worst time of our lives. I became a Taylor Swift fan when she released Folklore that July. Then of course, she surprised us all with releasing Evermore just five months later. My sister can't listen to Marjorie without crying and thinking of our nan Veronica. I can barely bring myself to listen to it, so I share the tears of everyone in the video. My nan was the kindest, most upbeat and positive, beautiful soul that my family was so lucky to be graced by. I miss her every day. It says a lot about Taylor's writing ability that she could write something so universally relatable to grieving the loss of someone important in our lives.
I think you might like Tolerate It as presented on tour. If you don’t want to present it here (that’s OK), watch it again after you see the tour in its present state.
i lost a co-worker who i saw a grandmother. Marjorie made me sob the day after I learned about her passing. I remember singing this song and start breaking down. I can’t help to think about my own grandpa and great grandpa, two people whom i’ve never met. this song really helped me during these times 🤍
I really hope you guys continue this series even after you’ve accomplished all the Eras. I'd love to see other reaction videos like, "Track 5 reactions," more music video reactions, possibly some documentary reactions, etc. I'm really enjoying this series and I'm glad you are too!
Yessss Evermore! I'll be honest I haven't been seeing all the Swift videos because I care only about a couple of her albums. Folklore was one. But anyway Im back and I love this! ❤
Really loved Marjorie, and I relate to your reactions. I lost my mother at age 6, and later my Grandmother, who raised me. Both of them had beautiful voices, my mother was so talented, in Musical Theater, and as our Church soloist! I cry everytime I hear this song. 😢😢 You missed Exile and Epiphany in your Folklore reactions.. please do reactions to both songs. In Epiphany Taylor compares soldiers who fought in wars to the ER Doctors and Nurses during Covid. Taylor talks about this song in her Long Pond Session. Exile, is one of her most beautiful sad songs.
i dont think they put her singing backing vocals in as a surprise for taylor. im pretty sure taylor was well aware and she was the one putting in the backing vocals
I love this format! May I suggest two things by Ren (you did Hi Ren by Ren): The Jenny and Screech trilogy (one video, three stories) and The Money Game trilogy. They are simply fantastic and I think you might enjoy them! Anyway keep up the good work!
