    Fantastic flights! Your footage is great, its not as easy as people think to orchestrate the whole setup and film!

    Bloody good immature tiercel that, great footage. Hope to see you in Offaly sometime in 2019. Maybe with a couple of GSP’s or maybe a Braque. Although the setters seem to fairly steady.
    Please get in touch.

    Thanks for sharing, what's the average pitch 200ft?

    • @kerryfalconry
      @kerryfalconry  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Mostly 400-500ft, some lower, but a few around 1000ft.

      +Eric Witkowski Is there a reason why the hawks have a varying pitch?

    • @kerryfalconry
      @kerryfalconry  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      It is depend on the weather but also tiercel's weight. I had to drop his pitch as from around 1000 ft stoops he wasn't able to catch any snipe - it ended up with a few checks killed. 500ft was just right. Also the size of a bog is important, higher pitch the bigger bog needs to be.

      +Eric Witkowski Has anyone managed to catch snipe intentionally from say a 1000 to1500 ft pitch on a regular basis that your aware of? or from your experience would you say it's not achievable,

    • @josephking1947
      @josephking1947 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      It does seem a shame that a descent pitch cannot be achieved which is the essence of game hawking, as killing the snipe in style would require this, maybe this should be retitled Snipe coursing at low pitch rather than classical falconry emulating the hedge row pot hunting which perlins gave us at Woodhall Spa this being slightly different as a dog is used to flush in the open well done for your efforts and sharing the footage.
