My great grandparents used to live on the Namakogan River in Seeley! I remember as a kid hearing the stories about grampa Art Thompson and his pet black bear! Maybe you’ve paddled by Thompson landing? Anywho love your videos!

We definitely paddled by and it was some of the most beautiful scenery on the river. So cool they named a landing after him!

New to your channel. First video that I'm starting out on. I actually watched it in entirety. Thoroughly enjoyed the content. I like how it its a family and pet video, and you are all enjoying nature and the great outdoors to its fullest. I love canoeing and really need to do more of it, camping too. Very informative video, too. It's really nice scenery there on the Namekogan. I'll definitely be back to watch more in the future. Take care 🙂

Nice trip indeed! You'd like it. I don't think you would have to portage much either since you kayak.

Great video and information. You mentioned printing those maps on water proof paper. Can you shed some light on that in terms of where to get it and how that's done?? Thanks. PS. Do you happen to know what the USGS readings were at the Leanords Gauge ?

Thank you. Water levels are usually on the park service website www.nps.gov/sacn/planyourvisit/paddling.htm
I just checked though and for some reason that specific page is down. Maps can be found at the same site. I just downloaded and had a print shop print it for me. They had that paper option so that was helpful.

When in the year did you do the trip. We were going to do our annual trip aug 11 but the river levels were too low

The last weekend of June, and it was low then. We dealt with record low levels last year too. Hopefully it's not the new norm!

Where did you park? Any trouble with busted out windows?

I've canoed the namekagon and st.croix many times and have never had any problems with the car break ins. Parked one vehicle at phillipi landing in the town of cable. The other at the trego town park landing.
