I'd say that it sounds a bit like his earlier work, such as "Bust a Soda" in the first EarXtasy or some of the songs from the Resolution CD which release show was done with the AT300. Definitively, for someone who likes Andy, you recognize some of his signature tones. Personally, I always go back to his earlier work, when he was not yet known as he is today. For example, Groove or Die... which he never plays any longer....

Perhaps you know someone in the USA? have him/her purchase the guitar, and bring it to you. He/she obviously needs to be a foreigner, not a Brazilian citizen. As a visitor, you don't pay tax or duty on your personnel belongings, as one would expect. I personally always travel with my guitar everywhere I go. Before the airlines started to charge for luggage, my guitar always travelled in a rugged flight case. My company has a research center in Rio. I was on a rotation schedule, so I would travel in and out at regular intervals. Being a foreigner, I never had any trouble getting in or out with my guitar. Today, it is much more complicated, and I only travel with a headless which can fit in the cabin overhead baggage compartment.

The only limited edition is the first ever signature Andy Timmons, manufactured to 150 pieces in 1999. I have one of those. I also have one of the AT300. I prefer the AT300 to the AT100SB because of the mahogany body and darker tone.

I set camp there in 2003, and saw the situation degrade more and more to what it is today. Unless you are filthy rich, you are obligated to buy local brands. This is the sad truth of many Latin American countries. I think Chile is slightly better though. The principle remains the same. If you know of someone that lives in the USA and often commute to Chile you may be able to strike a deal. I have been an expatriate all my life, and I always had requests to bring stuff from abroad in the countries I worked. It is more complicated now, because the airlines are just charging for everything, but it is still possible. The other possibility, is to order from one of your guitar store that sells Ibanez guitars. Of course.
@@racerx3065 Most of the recent signatures are sunburst. They probably wanted to do something different. If I am not wrong, Andy said this was in homage to Blackie, Eric Clapton's black stratocaster. Indeed Andy Timmons continues to play his first prototype as his main guitar.

I think it would have really taken the black meaning to a different level. If you are really partial about natural looking, you may want to look for an AT300 which has that violin mahogany look. I kind of prefer to see the wood grain too. My own AT300 is not as pretty looking as that of Andy's. He obviously benefited from book matched halves. Also, the ATZ neck/finger board is slightly wider than the original ATs. It helps with the E1. There is one major difference though. On both the AT100SB and AT300, the electronics have the two volume arrangement, which was an Andy Timmons trademark in the early days. The new signature issues, starting from the AT100CL went back to the traditional volume, tone, tone. I like to have the two volumes.
Why don't they make the neck with 24 frets? you can't play the tapping section of "cry for you" without 24 frets... actually why don't they make all the guitars with 24 frets????
I got a feeling the brand ambassadors (Timmons, Miller, Quayle,) receive signatures made with “extra love” and are probably USA made models they demo, but we think we are buying what they are playing when ours are lesser quality made in Japan. Yes Japanese make higher quality things like cars, but their guitars are NOT higher quality. I kept my HSS Japanese AZ a week and realized the pickups were so brittle sounding and the neck was dry and fought me. And they’re obviously in bed with Laney since “coincidentally” theyre always demoed hand in hand in most of the various brand ambassadors videos (except Timmons who usually uses Mesa, but the other big guys are always Laney). Japanese isn’t always better, its why Fender Japan are cheaper yet compensate with fantastic artwork. A USA of the same artwork would cost much more due to the quality, not just the aesthetic. Dont be in denial thinking Japanese is always better. I will always buy Japanese cars, but NOT their guitars. The guys they pay to demo their guitars could make anything sound good, so dont let that fool you.
USA made ain't always better. Just look at the EVH Wolfgang MIJ vs made in USA. They are equal. But the USA model is about 2k more expensive. I have played several Gibson Les Paul's and compared it to Eastman from China, many times I thought the Eastman won. I have played Gibson Custom Shop guitars with fret issues, bridge issues, nut issues. Heritage H-150 that felt lifeless, also made in USA. Then we have USA made Ernie Ball Music Man which never fails to impress. And Japan ain't always better either. I have looked at two Ibanez PIA with finish issues. The guitar was fantastic but finish issues should have never been sent out of the factory. I played a EVH Frankie (modded strat) made in Mexico that blew my mind, and played USA made Fender Stratocaster that felt underwhelming, and a Telecaster with bridge issues. I also recently got an EVH SA-126 which also blew my mind, made in Mexico, but I have also played 4 EVH Wolfgangs made in Mexico with various issues like major fret sprout, the EVH D-Tuna would require modding with a drill bit on some of these, some finish issues, and then I found one that was perfect. I think guitar players should stop thinking that the country matters as much as they currently think. You can get a high quality guitar from any of these countries and you can get a bad quality guitar from any of these countries.
