The Dunbar Initiative at the University of Dayton

The University of Dayton is preserving the legacy of Dayton native Paul Laurence Dunbar, one of the first Black writers in the U.S. to achieve national prominence. With support from the National Endowment for the Humanities and the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, UD is developing interdisciplinary courses and creating a digital library and archive related to Dunbar’s life and works.
