This song follows a simple theory of "social construct" Some particular set of chords, not by tone, but only by extensions, tensions whathever they are minor or major, have a specific role in visualization, specially in gen z which are the generation that was born with "media education" and "digital culture", but this phenomenon is here since the existence of cinema, one of the first powerful attempts to combine music and imagery. So basically, if in the market blue is associated with water, peace, and nature, then the sounds, chords and scales that were used in the market to ilustrate those feelings will, indeed, work better to comunicate those feelings in our current generation, not because of the chords alone by themselves, but rather of how this chords were used to represent that exact idea. This theory relies on the simple idea that most intelectuals fall that is to claim that everything is a "cultural construct" in this case, by corporations such as Microsoft. On the other hand you can claim that this is a false statement, simply because the market itself had to study how to ilustrate certain specfici emotions, let me rewrite, the musicians that were hired for this chore had to create a way to find certains chords, scales and sounds to emulate, in this case, water, or the utopic future that "frutiger aero" wants to evoque. In this case yes, i rely on social construct imagery, the whole idea frutiger aero asthetics is based on a market logic, but the market relies on genuine human feelings, it has to connect in someway to the consumer. This sounds like water, not exactly because the market had told us from years, but because being underwater sounds dense, kinda silent, wavesounds dont behave the same in water than in air, thats a scientific fact, thats real, so music that represents air will be more "airy", well, air is chaotic, it doesn't have a particular direction, while water (in pools lets say) is peaceful and calm. Water also affects our perception, particulary in ears, which are fundamental for estability, so to emulate water i used a stereo effect that messes with this sense of estability that we often have in the surface. The piano keys and "bellarinas" emulate sparkles, raindrops and the reflection of the sun.
