These guys are good and work8ng on great machines. Those machines can even survive a nuclear war in the way they were designed and manufactured. Have a great weekend, greetings from the Netherlands 😊
I use to work in a lathe shop in New Zealand early 70s.Our worshop was always kept clean an tidy. The boss would go off his head if we had a mess around our lathe. The conditions these men work in are deplorable. At least we where supplied safety glass's, safety footware, protective clothing, gloves, these men have nothing. Nothing less than industrial revolution conditions.
Expert craftsmanship but how they can work in such conditions is beyond my comprehension. Walking over knee deep piles of swarf in nothing but flip flops. No way.
Its a credit to the machines that they can survive the conditions and abuse. At 57:39 the young fella in the background is playing with his mobile phone, it would seem anything is better that cleaning the workshop or even moving some swarf. The comments amaze me "expert craftsmanship"? It's 2024 and we cant even concrete the floor let alone buy a dial indicator. It's entertaining but for all the wrong reasons. I hope the electrician is still alive.
They do what management tells them to do. They clear the chips when they can’t work around it. Why should he bother? What you want costs money and in case you haven’t heard, India is one of the poorest countries. Pouring a concrete floor for at factory would cost a vast amount of money that the company likely doesn’t have. If you’ve seen look at photos from large factories from 1900 and older, all you’ll see is dirt floors and parts and junk everywhere. I’ve got old books where it’s stated that a dirt floor is the best floor.
I'm a fan of this channel but there's too much fast forwarding in the video (like 1.25 speed) which this channel should not do if it wants to hold onto some viewers like me.
It’s not you guys but that piece of metal is scrape. Pits everywhere. That’s not good. Need a better cutting tool not machine. You all normally do great work. That big ring was pitted to pieces. I do enjoy watching.
The cutting tool was fine. The casting is unacceptable. I was thinking that they were going to machine beneath it, but I guess not. I wonder what it was for? Maybe for the purpose it was being used for, it doesn’t natter.
These guys are as good as machinists anywhere. Don’t kid yourselves. I recognize some of the equipment they have there and it’s very good. But you can see from this video that while the people doing the work are highly skilled, India will never rival China or any other country anytime soon. If you’ve seen Chinese repair work being done, it’s on another level. The people there are also highly skilled. But they would be doing this in a clean factory with concrete floors. The machinery will be modern and they would use a CNC gear hobber, for example. Unfortunately, Modi’s policies continue to cause major problems.
@@melgross except for the longstanding hostility between a majority Muslim country & a majority Hindu one with several wars & armed clashes since 'partition'. The two nations seem to have a lot in common with massive populations much poverty & nuclear weapons.
These guys are born with a metalworking degree.
The ingenuity and inventiveness of these chaps knows no bounds.

They do FINE work and see the welder is back!
You guys get it done!

Pulling steel swarf away without a swarf hook.
I learned the hard way😊
Ooooh, a new toy!
At 24:20 in the top LH corner there is a man smoking a cigarette. Don’t they realise how dangerous that is?

That’s the way it used to be.

He’d need to tighten up a few bolts what I can see and keep the lathe in better condition.
salam vean y aprendan
What is the Powder name used in geared hardening process
The first 50 seconds were reversed... I was expecting to see a lathe put metal back onto a rough piece.

This film is from Pakistan not India, so not Modi!
