This week's episode highlights another fun kitchen session that you'll surely love. If you're ready to get creative with food, let's get started!
Is this your first time baking yuca fries? If you haven't heard about it before, I'm happy to explain what it's made of. Yuca is a starchy root vegetable or tuber that has a waxy outer skin and a starchy center. It is native to South, Central America, and the Caribbean and often used in Latin dishes. Compared to potatoes, yuca root is higher in calories, protein, and carbs.
Ingredients:
✅ Salt
✅ Yuca
✅ Water
✅ Garlic power
✅ Paprika
Cooking directions for your reference:
✅ Peel off the thick layer of brown skin, leave out the tough fibrous core and cut them into wedges. Or, any shape you want to!
✅ Take a big pot of salted water, throw in all the wedges that you just cut up, and boil them for fifteen minutes.
✅ Once cooked, transfer to another container. Sprinkle a generous amount of paprika and garlic powder for more flavors. Pick your choice of flavor!
✅ Put it in the oven and bake for a few more minutes until you achieve your preferred texture and color. Whatever works for you!

Wow, I have never tried anything with yuca. Thank you for the video, I will be making yuca fries next time 😋
Hi Natasha! Definitely give them a try, I think you'll love it!
We are going to try it. Really looks good.
As a Latino, I've had yuca a bunch of different ways but never baked; must give this a try. You can also fine them peeled, cut and bagged in the frozen section at many major supermarkets. They also work very well since most often you have to boil them first.
Very true. I have bought them frozen like that many times. I added that option on the website post. Unfortunately, there is only one brand available to me that way and I won't buy their stuff anymore.
Quick note: my mom buys like 5 big yuca roots, peels and cuts them up, then freezes them for whenever she wants to cook some. She's single so it works out great.
I’ll def try this it looks good
I can't wait to try yuca fries! Thanks for sharing.

Isn’t there a core that needs to be cut out. It looked liked after peeling you cut the entire yucca into wedges.

Love it, but what temp did you use in the oven?
Hi! Bake at 425º degrees for 40 minutes or until they are golden, flipping them halfway through.

Baking temp and time? Important ? Lol
Hi! I have the link to my blog with the full recipe in the description. But here is the baking time: Bake at 425º degrees for 40 minutes or until they are golden, flipping them halfway through.
Wow first time seeing this group food
It looks like Cassava
Hi! Yes, that's another name for it. In Dominican Republic we call this Yuca. With one C. In America they call it mostly Yucca, two c's. in DR, we call casave when the yuca is ground and baked into what looks like a big toast. Super interesting. I may make it one day on the channel.
😎
Good to know you have to boil them first!
Yes, otherwise they will be so hard you won't be able to bite through them.
oh no I didn't catch the oven temperature or time in oven :( I would love to make it!
