Not having in-unit laundry is a bit annoying but like you said at least it's down the hall on the same floor and you don't have to leave the building or go on a different floor/basement to do the laundry. I am in the same situation at my apartment and have gotten used to it but still wish I had in unit so I didn't have to have shared laundry.
