- Even though it just released earlier this year, speedrunners have already found ways to beat Kena: Bridge of Spirits in under 30 minutes. Ride along with members of the Kena: Bridge of Spirits development team from Ember Labs as they watch their game get completely broken by speedrunner SwiftShadow.
Participating in the commentary from Ember Labs are: Josh Grier (Producer/Writer), Tyler Kirk (Engineer), and James Beck (Combat Designer & Animator).

You guys should be very proud of this game. It was beyond refreshing from what else is out there. It’s beautiful.
Beat the game on master spirit guide difficulty last night. Don't let the Pixar aesthetic fool you, when it comes to bosses this is becomes a Dark Souls game.
To me inexperience is the biggest difficulty additive in this game, Master was actually easier than Normal. Its all about knowing enemy weaknesses and attack patterns to hit those parries.
@@Carlisho which is exactly how Dark Souls difficulty works. If you know when to roll and where to stick next to bosses they are laughable exploitable.

@@Youre-absolutely-right 8-10 hours. It took me 15 hours to do a 100% playthrough on the master spirit guide to open the platinum trophy.

Speedrunners are underappreciated. They literally comb the game in and out to find glitches/bugs so the devs can make a better game next time or make it more enjoyable for the fans. I'm sure if another game comes out they'll surely learn to fix these glitches before releasing it.
Loved the game, and* bravo to Ember Lab, but it took me like 25 Hours to get everything, and I'm stuck at 90% with Trophies since these guys patched out the Master Mode Exploit... and it's not gonna happen for me the legit way.

Well, devs gonna have to fix many things after watching this.
It's funny hearing the devs be like "H-HOW DID HE DO THAT, YOU SEE THAT?"
As long as the bugs presented here don't effect players during normal gameplay, there's no reason to patch them.

Wow - that opening reminds me a LOT of the opening to Raya and the Last Dragon - but knowing how long it takes to accomplish anything in both game and movie production, I'm sure it's just a coincidence.
so this game has 2 unskippable cutscenes, at the beginning and the end. that's neat

Great game, played it or normal difficulty and really underestimated it. But its beautiful.and a great story.
Its bit on the shorter side (since it was made by a small studio) but the game feels, looks, and plays like a AAA action/platformer game.

Can anyone explain how to do that flying exploit?
We stack the pause menu and photomode menu on top of each other, then we do to a ledge and do a dash after we've lined it up. We then time a pose+opening up photomode again to extend our dash without losing any height.
@@clarathesassy pardon another question but what's the button combination if possible. Like how do you stack the menu? I've been trying to do for a couple hours and can't seem to figure it out

Making your single-player game exploit-free might be appealing for the perfectionist, but what does the average player really get out of it, rather than a more expensive game?

It's a shame it sounds like the Devs are making a list of ways to stop the processes the Speedrunner is taking rather than just really enjoying it.
Because one of the major part of game developing is to fix up bugs that may lessen the intended gaming experience to the players.
Sure its cool you can just roll over to avoid events in speed-runs, but what if a regular player accidentally roll over pass those events?
@@fartyfat6539 It takes very specific methodology to do most of these speedrunning strats. This group of Devs have already decided to remove things that were incredibly difficult to get to and only used by Speedrunners in the first week of the release.
I've been in talks with one of the devs and they shared their interest in the run and have stated that the devs want to keep the speedrun enjoyable and keep it's integrity. Speedrunners are safe with this game.

This game is quite difficult to achieve a trophy. Fans avoid it. In recent games, trophies are becoming easier, so please refer to it in the production of KENA2.
