_L.I.-4 Hégu | joining valley
1. Yuan-source point of LI
2. Gao Wu Command Point
3. Ma Dan-yang Heavenly Star Point
4. Regulates face, eyes, nose, mouth & ears
5. Activates channel & alleviates pain

_location
1. Ask the patient to squeeze the thumb against the base of the index finger, and locate Li-4 at the highest point of the bulge of the muscle and approximately level with the end of the crease
.
_needling
1. Perpendicular insertion 0.5-1 cun
2. Oblique insertion directed proximally 1-1.5 cun
.
_caution
1. Contraindicated during pregnancy

_ hemiplegia
1. paralysis of one side of the body.
2. a condition caused by brain damage or spinal cord injury
.
_ technique
1. Oblique insertion (w/ larger needle) through Large Intestine Meridian Li-4, crossing through San Jiao Meridian, Sj-3, and finally connecting through Small Intestine Meridian, Si-3.
