Not at all, MPLS is something I would like to put into a video format and it is relatively easy to configure on MikroTik routers. Although the concept is a bit on the advanced end and may confuse some people who are new to it. I am currently working on a few other videos. I will however add this to my to-do list.

1.basically, when connecting more than 1 remote site-mikrotik router via l2tp tunnel, you MUST assign 2 profiles with different WAN IP addresses on Mikrotik that acts as a l2tp server (in this case 10.1.0.1 and 10.1.0.3 ) for them to be able to connect properly? Could you just assign 10.1.0.1 as local address for both sites or that would not work? Also do you need to assign those static routes in mikrotik l2tp server or would the mikrotik server learn the route automagically when they connect for the first time? 2. When creating l2tp client connection from mikrotik clients can you enter dynamic dns name associated with your ISP given IP that changes every 24 hours in Dial Out Connect To setting? 3. Also when you set the DNS options on server or client side when configuring stuff, can you set split dns somehow, so the remote clients use mikrotik l2tp server as dns server when in comes to local vpn lan queries and use google public dns when they are browsing the web on that remote location? Hopefully i made sense with my questions :) Great work Berg, keep them coming.

    Hi,
    1. Is it possible to configure Microtic as Openvpn-client to a Openvpn-server installed on Ubuntu machine?
    2. If yes, then how is it possible to make Mikrotik read its Openvp-client configurations from .ovpn file?
    3. Would you please create a video for that purpose, the goal is to use Mikrotik as the encrypted GW for all clients that are connected to it and rout to internet through the Openvpn-server 🙃

      Hi,
Please elaborate on what you mean packets might not be routing correctly? Perhaps give me a scenario where you have issues. For the most part routing traffic over a L2TP tunnel is pretty straight forward and rarely experiences routing issues.
