For the question about Maggi Curry, I feel like it is because everyone likes to customise it at home when they make it. That's probably why they sell the 5-in1 packs without the additional vegetables. It is also considered really cheap and affordable. No idea what is the actual reason but that's just my guess.
On the contrary, correct me if I am wrong (it's been a long while), but I vaguely remember that there might be vegetable packets in the cup versions that they sell. So, guessing there might be a convenience aspect involved?

Simple answer is, when maggi first started, dried veggies is not a thing yet. Japanese used seaweed i.e. nori but thats not a thing in Malaysia. Then companies started using dried veggies. Why didnt they start using dried veggies? Because why fix something that isnt broken? People are already familiar with maggi curry to the point where it has become a staple so why bother? Even today, after all different kind of fancy instant noodles come out, the basic maggi curry is still one of the top fast selling instant noodles.

Yea because Maggi is convenient tasty and affordable on its own, if you wanna add on stuff that's up to you. The cup Maggie has Vege cuz normally it's convenient when ur in the car or you're walking, short lunch breaks when u don't have bowls and cutlery

Lemak has other meaning. In nasi lemak context it's not fatty/fat but is "creamy" instead. Creaminess from the coconut milk. There is nasi minyak, which is what fatty/oily rice. Nasi minyak cook with fragrant spiced oil/butter/others

Maggi Curry is a must in every Malaysian household. We like to customize our own side dish such as vegetables, chicken or maybe some seafood. The packs are cheap so i think that's why they didn't include any vegetable in it. You can get the veggie pack in maggi curry cup ig.

Maggi curry mi I think was never made to include vegetables because the original range, such as Curry, Chicken (soup flavour) Laksa have been staples in almost every Malaysian kitchen,. The iconic taste over the years have been loved for generations and almost every family has their own way of preparing their own version by adding egg, garlic, onions, green leafy vegetables, meats and so forth. And there are those who just prefer the original taste they've known since childhood. 😊

In truth the word "lemak" in nasi lemak means cooked with coconut milk that the rice becomes "lemak" meaning delicious. While "lemak" literally also means fat, translating nasi lemak as fatty rice as some Malaysians do, is not quite accurate.
There are also several other meanings of the word "lemak".

Sambal nasi lemak is very diverse in terms of its taste because some people love it sweet, some love it spicy. But they all use dried chilli paste to make it. Personally, I love that sambal if its a little tangy, spicy, sweet, and salty. Also, I'm one of the Malaysians who didnt eat peanut with Nasi lemak cuz I dont like it. As for Maggi kari, I love to cook it on stove and add some bakchoy, cabbage and eggs. If you like it a little spicy, try adding more store curry powder or bird eye chilli. Anyway, thank you for trying our food!😁

Actually Lemak has 2 meanings depends on the sentence or usage. The first one is FAT, which is already well known. The second one is less commonly known which is CREAMY. So in the case of Nasi Lemak, Creamy for Lemak is more relevant because the rice do taste creamy after being cooked with coconut milk.

But, most Malaysian people love to add more ingredient in it such as garlic, chicken, egg, cheese, veges & etc. We also use maggi kari to make Murtabak Maggi. Its delicious & crunchy. Lemak has a few meaning, 1 means fatty(lemak) as in chubby the other meaning refers to creamy coconut taste(lemak).

haEun will read all the comments.. okay noted.. LMAO.. peter gonna have a hard time brainstorming about what he gonna cooked next.. maybe pisang goreng or roti canai or maybe nasi kerabu and nasi dagang??
HwaRin doesn't like cucumber.. and Peter is right about we Malay used cucumber to calm down the spicyness.. it one of what we called "ulam-ulaman" there two types of ulam-ulaman the mild one and the hardcore one.. the mild just fresh veggie and herb the hardcore is those that will give you a aftermath bad smell from your mouth and when you pee or fart.. (petai, jering, kerdas)
She really remind me of hachubby because she also dislikes cucumber..

Hi friend, Thank you for your comment!
Yeah you are right. It's hard to find Malaysian food in korea. so time goes by too quickly when I think about what to do next week. haha
In fact 'Hwarin' is challenging Malaysian food every week at my suggestion, even though there are many foods that can't be eaten. Others have no fear of new things. But every week, she overcomes her fears and works on this shoot. Please support her a lot!

Lemak is fat but in Nasi Lemak means 'creamy' because we put coconut milk together with rice...

Lemak means creamy not fat. Even though you can use lemak for fat. But when used to translate we should translate lemak as creamy cos of the creaminess of the coconut cream in the nasi.

For the vegetables, usually the fried one (maggi goreng mamak the best) will have the vegetables but for boiling usually we didn't put the vegetables. Usually we cooked it with onion, garlic, chillies, egg

ummmm... seems like you didn't fry the anchovies and groundnuts. it look very pale to me. also the sambal for nasi lemak should be a little more water-y and that's why for Malaysian nasi lemak, we don't put sambal on the side, we put sambal on the rice.
as for the maggi Kari, seems like you know the right measurement of water for the soup. 👍🏼 for you.
