Great video as always guys
Just found your channel and love this review. I don't think I can get 3 of the machines here in the States but I'm going to look them up. The AS Motor really was impressive with the electric motor. I think I can get the Stihl here or a version of it as Stihl is very popular here. But great side-by-side tests and Walley in the background was making me laugh! Thanks guys..👍And as a side note, I'm retired now but I own two 48 " mowers. One is a Scag hydro walk behind with a sulky and the other is a Bunton 48" belt drive that is as old as dirt but still runs like a tank. The Kawasaki 14 hp engines on each are wonderful motors that start 2 pulls max every time.
We had A S 4x4 20 years ago couldn't justify the running costs. Now run a webang, what I call a multi purpose middle of the road mower. When thay die get a new one its putting up a proper fight . The frunt wheel drive is counter Intuitive going up a hill I'm inclined to give a helping push which pushes down on frunt wheel drive and lifts up a rear wheel drive. I find these tests to be very interesting the other major factor ye are going to have to take into account in the future is the cutting high measuring the actual high the blade tip is from the ground as hight adjusters might be slightly different
I do both mulch and collect , i got three weighbangs small meduim and large . large being the professional , and i cant fault any of them , the only differance is , i use the high lift blades on them all , and trust me please folks the high lift blades are the thing , compared to regular blades , (( go get yerself some high lift bades )) You will be amazed at the differance .
Look like all good quality. I think the AS mower is the best of them all.
Have been looking at the grin the past couple weeks, look tidy fair play. Nice comparison guys👍
Thanks Nath! Yeah they are well built 👍🏼
You certainly will NOT grin when you come to replace a badly damaged cutting blade!
Too late that you need to nearly empty the bank, account, again.
If you find a manufacturer with a more expensive blade replacement, please TELL Machinery Nation!
Be aware that the metal 'constitution' makes resharpening less easy, and as for the "convoluted" blade shape, this guarantees to make the process more difficult than any conventional mulcher blade which do respectably good jobs at an honest price!
Wow that AS w/EGO motor was a beast! I wish I could get an EGO motor assembly to swap out the petrol motor on my old Craftsman mower!
well, why cant you? i dont think its that expensive.
It really is! I haven’t seen them on the open market as yet.
@@Sigurd651 it probably isn’t but I really don’t want to get into a 9th battery platform…lol! It would be better if I transplanted the motor assembly from my 20” Ryobi 40V mower or find a donor Ryobi 40V mower.
Roman definitely loves the AS-MOTOR 510. I even spent my own money to get one! Ergonomics and the fully foldable handle bar are very helpful in every day use. On combustion models the engine is turned 180 degree around to make them lightweight in the front and to protect the carburetor. Great 👍 videos.
Thank you Roman, we throughly enjoyed using the 510, we hope to catch up with you soon. James
I'm italian i have the little grin em37, corded push mower with 1600w motor. I love it, the grin prices are a little bit high but ghe quality is very good. Also the Marina System mowers are italian and very well made
Brilliant mulching lawnmowers. I am still trying to save up for the Stihl RM4 RTP. At the moment I have a Ariens razor 21 2 in 1 lawnmower and it's been the best lawnmower I have ever had for my gardening business. Great video lads. Fantastic and informative.
Thank you 🤩
I collect at the start of the season then try mulch as much as i can. I use a husqvarna mulching mower. I do like the front wheel drive. Maybe in the future ibwould love the AS motor. With local council in Scotland starting to charge for the green waste bin maybe in the future the AS will be bought. I love the height of cut on the AS motor whichbgive you advantage of mulching long wet grass
You pay dearly for the advantage of the extra cutting height!
Great test 👍🏻 but you should test an AS Motor with the AS made two stroke engine, thats a beast 😊
Yes the two strokes are amazing
battery is good for this work dont bog down when in long grass unlike petrol
Very true! Thanks Russell 👍🏼
Do love those grin mowers, proper built!!
Well built machine for sure 👍🏼
4 height cut only. Adjuster in the vertical position is a pure pig for snagging under shrubs. Built for dry Italian climate gardens where wheel "scrapers" are not needed. I think they are overpriced (and AS machines) compared to the competition. More alternatives than just the 4 tested!
Hi James & Josh all looked good mowers the AS Motor & Grin top job for machines with out a big following ( is that down to being top end commercial with a price to match ) ? or just with the Grin not having been sold in the UK is not well known yet look well built then webang appeared from know where a few years back Thanks again
The Grin looks good but the constant contact handle drive system would be a deal breaker for me, no to the FWD Stihl as well. I would probably go for the Weibang, simply on price, compared to the AS if i had to pick one. Cheers for the review chaps 👍
I would like to see another line up including the Husqvarna LB553S mulcher ? 😊
Like the Stihl rm 4 rtp, only comes with a "fast" single speed. Suggest you consider the RV model with the 150 cc Kohler engine?
A video compairing the honda hrx vs the hrn series would be cool to do before they are gone according to what ive heard they will stop production in september
That would make a good video. But, If that’s the case, probably not much point 😂
Let’s look at what you could have had!
Take the batteries out before touching the blade just in case the safety mechanism goes haywire so you don’t lose a finger or two.
Great review. The stihl mower definitely had the longer thicker grass than the others.
⭐⭐⭐⭐
It does look at way in the video for sure, we picked the most even bit we could.
Gotta love those Kawasaki engines! The Grin was definitely impressive
They are good, but, they ARE overpriced.
Replacement blade prices are OBSCENE!
Great video guys.
Weibang definitely got the better of the Stihl.
Closer between the AS and Grin. That's a tough choice. Does the Grin with Kawasaki get the edge over the AS with Briggs if going petrol v petrol?
Keep up the good work 👍🏼
Thanks Graeme! I think the AS with a petrol engine would be on par with the Grin.
sthill motor is absolute weakness you better put a stick in governor spring to boost speed :)
I was going to buy still R4, but now I watch your program I am bit confused. I don’t know other prize my budget is £600.
Love a.s motor mowers but can't use them as all my customers want a roller mower .
Have you guys heard of “Klippo”? Would be nice to see a comparison as they do make really nice mowers
Yes very familiar with Klippo. They were bought out by Husqvarna n 2007 and are now branded as Husqvarna. Unfortunately Husqvarna have not as yet confirmed to do videos with us this year.
@@MachineryNation Damn thats too bad. Theyre a big thing here in Denmark. (especially 2nd hand). Hope theyll turn around eventually. Thanks for the quick reply!
Weibang was pretty impressive
Very good machine 👍🏼
A 4 tip mulch blade system be better for our spring grass like the rover mowers set up
I got two rover mowers and I agree the four blades swing blades are brilliant
The rovers were great machines! Shame they change the design and moved production to China 😂
@@MachineryNation your right I am using a rover procut560 and brand new old stock of rover 750 with brake clutch. I love the 14 height of cut and 10 height of cut. I hate mowers with six/seven height of cut.
not a lover of fwd but i think the reason sthil are missing the v drive is if you need to slow down in tough grass you can lift the mower on rear wheels to slow down also less maintenance with no vdrive
Yeah I suppose that could be another way of doing it, thanks Russell 👍🏼
Grin is the best!
Did you not get a husky mulching mower on demo?
No, unfortunately Husqvarna have not responded to us this year which is a shame, as we are huge Husqvarna fans.
Thanks for the video. Would a small elderly woman be able to start the kawasaki engine by herself?
More revealing from wally!!
Haha, he is the star of the show.
No Ego LMX5300SP ?
This video was for dedicated mulch mowers 👍🏼
Can you make a video with mcculloch
I doubt it, sorry 😟
@@MachineryNation 😕😕
No Husky?
How much are they then.
Give them a Google, prices change all the time, so we don’t always say the prices 👍🏼
Where is husky?
I love the AS 510! We meet at the Demopark last year . Here is my 510 vid.

Where is STIGA?
These were full commercial grade mowers and Stiga unfortunately don’t make a full commercial mulcher (not in the UK anyway)
In the repair shop, if anything like mine…
Using a Stiga Multiclip 50S Rental.
Being using Stigas for years, and had no problems.
@@spencehh 🤣
Which mowers have a ten year warranty or more? The rest are of no value, as if the manufacturer has no faith in them.
