Getting it to connect is sometimes a pain but once it does, it works great. I can record my dynamic mics (in particular my sm7b without any kind of cloud lifter device It’s impressively clean…super impressive how much gain is available. And the effects sound great and are perfect for my needs. I bought this unit days before the new Apollo released --which is ultimately what I had been waiting for for a long time. But as it stands, I’m perfectly happy with the Zen!
Recently bought an Antelope Discreet 4 Pro because I miss my old Orion converters. I I run my Neve DPA through it and it feels better than my Apollo x6, so I sold it. I'm back home with Antelope. LOL
780$ is a fantastic price at least for what you get personally I think the antelope seems better than the apollo UA interface line and I plan on picking this up soon
It won’t. The real cool stuff is 32 bit float like on rode wireless pro mics for example. For on location recording especially run and gun movie shoots it is awesome. But for professional music production in highly treated environments it really isn’t necessary. And as little site note all those 32 bit interfaces aren’t 32 bit float so you don’t have that cool benefit. Also most of them are beginner to prosumer interfaces. The real professional ones are industry standard 24 bit and it’s more than sufficient. Anything else is marketing to sell interfaces that lack crucial features trying to cover it up with the new and special 32 bit. But it really isn’t a new thing.
the Zen Go had 32-bit/384kHz, i personally never use anything above 96kHz, but for the price you are paying they should have at least kept the 32bit 384kHz for the folks who do use it because this feels like a step backwards, even the new SSL mkii has 32bit support
hey Archie thanks for this cool run through of the zen quadro. i have a question concerning another product you've reviewed on your channel, the UAD Sphere DLX. you were insisting on using this mic with an Appollo audio interface. Could you tell me if using the sphere mic with the Zen Quadro could be a good combo, or you wouldn't recommend it? thanks. Mitchell
Honestly, I've tested with only one set of monitors...My focal trio6 and it sounds great. I'm doing a few test with a multiple monitor setup this weekend. I will definitely let you know what my findings are. Thanks bro.

I bought this interface right after it came out, and I'm thrilled with it. :)
Very nice. I rarely use plugins when going in so having that available and ready to use is great.

Can you high pass the main monitor outs and output another stereo out via the 3rd and 4th out with low pass for 2 subwoofers?
How do the converters compare to the new Apollo x Gen 2?
Its sad for that price and its not 32 bit. I think 32 bit is becoming the new standard probably within the next 1-2 years.

A lot of pro studios still use 24 I don’t think it’s that deep
32-bit is just a marketing fuzz
