Sanibel Island is so beautiful and relaxing. Sights mentioned if short on time: Lighthouse, Bowmans beach, Blind Pass and Turner Beach (great for shelling), JN Darling Refuge (low tide best time to go, National Shell museum, Sanibel Historical Museum and Village, Renting bikes (personal favorite of ours!), Old Pioneer cemetery. Food: Jerrys Groc, Baileys Groc, Loveboat Icecream, Grandma Dots for seafood, MadHatter or Island Cow (wonderful food!). Captiva sights: The Green Flash Rest (seafood and water views), the Mucky Duck, Bubble Room for desert. Thanks for the wonderful video !!
Here as Sanibel Island takes a direct hit from Hurricane Ian. The destruction is just devastating! Hope this wonderful island will be rebuilt soon. Stay safe and strong everyone 🙏🏼
Don't put things on a bucket list. Just do it. I put Sanibel /Captiva on my list and now it has been devastated by hurricane Ian. Looking forward to your amazing comeback Sanibel /Captiva 🙏
I never heard of this island just curious because I’ve seen how sad of what happened today a few days ago and if they rebuild again I wanna come visit!!!
Captiva is the most lovely place I’ve ever visit. Oh, the shells…But most of Florida is suitable for Faina and Flora and not to humans. If humans just could leave Nature alone
Nice too see the birds ,beautiful water and very very low land.I was there. Not much land at high tide.I had a bad feeling it floods often.Low land is good for nature. Not a $2,000,000 home.
This video paints a romantic and iconic place I have been watching many shellers...and they all come up with a variety of 8 different shells. It's hard to believe you when you sand there are over 250 types!... I call b.s.
Perhaps. I have found much more than 8 and much less than 250. 🤷🏼♂️🤣 I have seen that statistic in a number of places though. Here is just one. portsanibelmarina.com/shelling-of-sanibel/how-to-find-perfect-shells/
HEY GLOBETROTTERYOUR COMMENT WAS SEEN DID YOU APOLOGIZE FOR YOUR VULGARITY AND SUSPICION TO THE CREATOR OF THIS VIDEO WHEN HE SENT YOU THAT LINK BECAUSE I READ IT AND HE SURE MADE YOU LOOK BAD
@@ShoreMeSomeMore I told that person that commented that he doubted your statistics that he should apologize because you sure put him in his place like he deserve good work! That link was very informative that you sent him!
Those poor birds at Jerry’s that were left in their cages during the storm!!! No excuse, at least they are free from their lives living in those cages.
An island with no free parking designed to cater to the super rich. It will cost you 9$ at the bridge and hourly parking anywhere on the island. The only ways to get there for free is to ride a bike or take your own boat.
@@montanaliving4769 Parking passes are really only for residents of Lee Country, they are around $300 a year. 😅General parking for anyone visiting the island at the beaches $5.00 per hour if I remember correctly. Turner Beach has great shelling especially during low tide! Blind pass is also a good shelling spot. 🙂
@@SuperLalalandXD The money grubbing council lost so much revenue from shutting down the beaches during the pandemic they raised the parking rates to over $20 for a couple of hours. Then they raised parking fines to $200! They are even on record during a council meeting discussing raising fines to offset their revenue losses! I'll never go back. Better beaches elsewhere
it's all gone.....will all those people, if survived (and they all didn't), STILL want to rebuild there again? .....I sure hope not....need your head examined if you do....sad, but it wont ever be the same....it's an apocalypse..
I'm going to Sanibel next month, cannot wait!

It was beautiful 🥲
Never been there but I love what used to be there from this video and I hope some day they can rebuild as well as the rest of most of Florida.

Great video!!!!!
Thanks for the narration Patton Oswalt... well done.
Welp, there goes my anonymity.
Used to visit here all the time when I was a kid, it was a pretty place until Ian leveled it. Lots of memories there.
So beautiful,I hope to visit one day😍
I love this place
not how it is now...so sad.
Family went to Sanibel island in 1975. Experienced it once.
I went there years ago before it was so built up. It is very beautiful! Collected many beautiful shells. 🌞
Sanibel will rebuild stronger and better. I'm so sorry.
Is the Bubble room restaurant still there?
It is still standing! Lots of recovery is needed island wide, but it is still there!
Wow thats a really beautiful sunset near the end.I can see why they risk the sea.The only really tropical state.
Don't forget Hawaii
Hawaii is very tropical

Wanted to see what it all looked like before Ian 😢
Is this narrated by Patton Oswald?

That's why we call it a vacation. But nope would not pay that here for parking at any beautiful site. Its ridiculous.
you both don't have to worry about that now....that's the least of anyone's worries....it's goneeeeeeeeee....
Are we camping, Jake?
You know we can do that.
Time to get rid of this video. Sanibel island was destroyed.
$6 bucks to cross the bridge and outrageous parking charge per hour.
Get a parking pass! 😄
@@SuperLalalandXD will be staying 4 days, how much is a parking pass and are there other good shelling beaches?
