There was none of this trying to force a story down our throats that was too distilled and safe anyway because it's Pokemon and they can only go so far.

Well, she was under Nihilego's control, I think, and it wanted to eliminate all of her Pokemon or use them to help itself, I assume. Lunala was the Pokemon who ended up cancelling out Nihilego's power, so you just kinda kept the Motherbeast fusion busy until Lunala could come out and save the day, I guess.
Ozoku yep I'm copy pasting this from another comment of my own, but it's my point, so yeah. I see this everywhere but the fact is that if we would've fought her it would be morally wrong. Look at just after the fight, where she tries to kill the player and Lillie, which sparked people's attention for being brutal. If we were to battle her, we would essentially be doing the same thing that she tried to do. Plus, who would try to attack Lusamine in front of Lillie, who only went to *save* her mother? Especially as the player is Lillie's friend. If we attacked her mother in front of her, we would essentially be betraying Lillie.
Eh. I always imagined they were being taken care of by the professor, like in the anime. Before the newer games gave them a paradise or jobs and college.

Ugh ultra is sooooo bad with how it changes the story. Easiest way to ruin a story is by putting a chainsaw to the originally satisfying conclusion and using it to recontextualize the entire game!

I guess you make a good point how the new story makes lusamine a way less interesting character. But I liked the part where it seems like the story is going to go the exact same of jumping into the wormhole to stop lusamine, but then necrozma appears out of it and just drops her and guzma in front of them implying that necrozma beat both of them itself with ease. And after fighting necrozma I can see why. Although this was necrozma before it went ultra form it was probably still considerably strong since when you battle it on the mountain before the champion league it's in a weakened state but can still uphold a half decent battle before it's caught

I am so disappointed this scene was removed from Ultra Sun/Moon. Lusamine is a pretty abusive person and it was satisfying for Lillie to stand up to her. She is equally as horrible in Ultra Sun/Moon and people just...forgive her. The quality-of-life improvements were all I could hope for in Generation VII. But they seriously downgraded the story from something that was initially ambitious for "Pokémon."
Plus, a lot of peeps here were pretty dissapointed that Lusamine doesn't actually fight you herself. I mean, what is the purpose of going full One-Winged Angel if Gamefreak is just gonna ruin the hype by limiting her cool form to yet another boring magical monster cockfight? I remember reading how the bad guys in a certain Pokemon game (the one where you fight evil shadow pokemon clones) would actually personally come up to you and *beat your ass to a pulp* after defeating all your pokemon. And there's an episode of the Diamond and Pearl anime where some inspector beats up Team Galactic grunts with a staff. Throwing your pokemon at Lusamine in her fused OWA form as she personally rains hell upon you would be the most badass way to break the mold yet.

I like how she has control over 10 Ultra beasts, transformed with them and yet she still used pokemon. Her team was Powered-Up but that doesn't excuse it.
Take into consideration that she also said anything she doesn't consider beautiful doesn't matter to her. It could've been an attempt at manipulation. Though let's give her the benefit of the doubt and say she wasn't in her right mind to begin with.

Ms. Wicke said that Nihilego can also remove any inhibitions and amplify the the host's natural abilities to their fullest extent, so yeah, maybe it did that too with the obsession like you said.
And then Ultra Sun and Moon removed the entire scene, removed the entire fight, tried to make her a nice person, and then had her get kidnapped and you have to go rescue her. Which just reminds us that anything awesome Pokemon does these days is entirely by accident, and they'll undo it or neuter it at the first chance they get.

Chester Vince Alcolea Cyrus, Maxie, and Archie actually had good motives. Lusamine and Ghetsis are plain crazy and just awesome. Lysandre wanted to destroy the world but his whole motivation was stupid imo... 3/10 worst team leader
Chester Vince Alcolea Ghetsis isn't that good. It would have been fine if he just kidnapped Pokemon because he was so into his idea, but instead he's just Giovanni in a crazy wizard outfit wanting Pokemon for himself.
Pierre Begley But that's the whole reason he's one of the best. The whole game you're fighting a cause that is actually not that unreasonable on the surface and then you find out this guy was pulling the strings and manipulating everyone so he could rule the world. Not only that, but then he comes BACK, with a reformed criminal organization under the idea of simply taking over the world from the get go, and then he actually almost kills the player? One of the most detailed and fleshed out characters to be in a pokemon game imo. Oh and his team can be incredibly powerful if you're only of equal level to N.
Honestly, I thought he was Lillie and Gladion's dad. Him and Gladion are Team Skull members, but I think Mohn is their real dad. Pretty sure Lusamine thinks Mohn is dead or she just knew he was gone and was like "Yeah I'm leaving you". Either Guzma is their dad or she just fell in love with Guzma.
Lusamine is honestly one of, if not arguably the best villain in all of pokemon. She is exceptionally creepy and evil, mostly do to the ultra beasts poison to be fair but still, and her fights are actually difficult for most people. She's everything you can ask for from a main antagonist, not sure how Nintendo will be ever able to top her.
Personally I believe Ghetsis takes the cake on best Pokemon villain with how he tricked and manipulated thousands of people. Not to say Lusamine was a bad villain, she was definitely creepy. My problem with her is that she really didn't do too much. This just my opinion however.
When she sends out her first Pokémon it almost looks like she’s charging at you, wouldn’t it be cool if you fought her and her Pokémon in a double battle, but whenever you try to attack her, the Pokémon she sent out will defend her? And when you take them all out she calls for ultra beasts (can’t remember the name) then you can actually damage her, just a crazy idea, but it would’ve been epic

Psyco Josho the Protagonist changes expression constantly in animated cutscenes, are in-game cutscenes the ones where the protagonist has this unchanging, unsettling smile and this blank stare the whole time...
In my opinion, I think this is easily the best climax the Pokemon franchise has ever had. And when you compare it to USUM's climax, you really begin to notice that Gamefreak might want to cut back on the end-of-the-world stories, and make more personal tales like this one.
Gen 2: Dad leaves to get the milk, son fights back against his mafia along with some kid he pushed at a lab Gen 5: Dude grooms a kid into becoming a mob boss, abuses him, and tells him he's adopted after said kid fails to beat up some rando who hasn't even started puberty yet. Gen 5 part 2: the abusive dad goes bonkers and nearly kills a kid with a depressed dragon he found in a cave, he abuses it and forces it to fuse with his disowned son's cool dragon Gen 5 manga edition: abusive father is saved from death thanks to disowned son, shows his thanks by beating him bloody with his cane Gen 5, but now he's back again: the dude is from an alternate universe (that very well might be the true universe) where he wins and now threatens to give the little girl ptsd of her mommy abusing her. Also plans to rule the universe because Arceus was on its coffee break. Gen 8: dude sort of adopts kid, destroys his dreams (for admittedly a good reason) activates pokemon that would destroy the world and acts like its all Gucci Gen 9: Mother/Father dies, Father/Mother leave son in a lab with a prehistoric dog/robo motorcycle, and refuses to elaborate. Son becomes resentful, and after recruiting some schoolmates, storms his home turf in a giant crater. He finds out his parent got mauled and created a robot to impersonate them in their death. Robo parent says that the originals loved their son dearly, the son says its all 🧢 . Watches with glee as they leave, and goes out on a trip with 2 girl buddies and 1 boy buddy, and in another scenario, bro has rizzed 3 ladies that go to his school
Fredrick Iyeh A missed opportunity by pokemon to truly shake things up. Forcing the player character to battle, hurt, or possibly kill another human in order to save not only the main cast but the entire world. The worst part is it's neither Lusamine nor Nihilego's fault as neither one of them intended to become such an evil threat. Lusamine became obsessed with the ultra beast for a noble cause but lost herself in that obsession and Nihilego is just a creature that feeds off other beings, doing what it needs to for self preservation in the process vastly amplifying the physical and mental attributes of it's host while driving it insane. So all throughout thr battle you question is what you're doing is right? But yet you have no other choice. It would have been a cool battle, a chance to finally have a TRUE boss character/battle in pokemon. One that would take your wit, skill, invetory, and the entire team you had built to that point to take down the threat. But at such a terrible price, all while calling into question the ethics of having pokemon battles. Darn it pokemon. You could've really knocked people socks off with this game. oh well. It was still enjoyable.
Fredrick Iyeh Well, I meant as far as the situation goes. Humans stand no chance against most attacks from pokemon so actually doing battle might seriously harm or kill Lusamine. Of course it would never happen in game but the thought of the possibility is what makes the tension. And pokemon is barely a children's game. Most people playing are adults and they know that. And death is nothing new in a Nintendo games. Mario has killed millions of creatures in his day by stomping on them. I think pokemon actually developing the storyline with more serious themes improves the series overall for all players young and old.

Nah, there is dozen of more emotional scene like N goodbyr in Black/White and AZ redemption at the end of X/Y. Heck, the whole Episode delta of ORAS is good too
So if anyone's wondering what is going on with why Lusamine is so chill after the battle with her, it's because she was affected by Nihilego's neurotoxin years ago. For a short description, Nihilego injects it's prey with a neurotoxin and according to Freud's theory of the Ego (reason) and Id (desire) we can discern that the neurotoxin effectively terminates the ego leaving only the id or "desire" behind. For those wondering how this works, when you desire something the Id gives you the thought that you want something but the Ego acts against the Id, making a person consider consequences of obtaining or owning the object of desire. If one were to be injected with Nihilego's neurotoxin, the Ego would not be there to put the brakes on the Id and so it would run rampant and unchecked causing a person to do anything it takes to obtain what they want with no thought of consequences. We can see Lusamine acting in this way, asking us _why_ she shouldn't do what she wants even though it causes harm to others. The removal of the Id can turn a person into an uncaring monster who only cares for what others or things can do for them never stopping to think of regret or consequences. To them, the object of their desire isn't something they want, but rather need.
I was so proud of Lillie...finally standing up for herself and her friends. And then Lusamine transformed and I had to put on FFVII's "J-E-N-O-V-A" in the background. Awesome sequence.
I'm kinda sad that this part was removed in the Ultra versions. I had some trouble with the super tanky Clefable, while the rest of them are pushovers. Though most importantly, this theme scared the hell out of me the first time I did this.
And this is why I say that the Original Sun and Moon have the best story in a Pokemon game. A young girl with a Narcissistic mother finds the courage to live for herself, and in doing so, finds it in herself to stand up to her mother and tell her off for the way she's treated everyone around her. Lillie is such a strong and brave person. How anyone can look down on these games is beyond me.

The reason it's like that is because it's prevolution, Charjabug, has higher physical attack. Also, I have no idea how he got it as you can only evolve Charjabug after this battle if I remember correctly.

Rellmon Shade Ghetsis is a badass sicko without an “one winged angel” form like Lusamine. She’s baddass, but recurring to a monster form downplays her a little. Ghetis is also the best worst dad.
ghetsis in usum straight up attempts to kill lillie because he cant take a loss. lusamine in sun and moon is just as bad, at her worst moment, but lusamine was very unwell for the whole game and has that possibility of redemption. ghetsis has no fucking hope.
The writing in this game was really damn good. Honestly one of the best I've seen in Pokemon period. I just wish we actually got to fight her Ultra Beast form. I was so ready to throw some hands.
I wish that gamefreak brought back the Ultra Recon Squad. Or anything involving the megalopolians. Theres an entire alien world connected to the pokemon world now with a humanoid species and you want us to just forget that and head off to Britain and Spain? NO GAMEFREAK. NO. This is the greatest 'boss battle' Pokemon has ever done. The setup, the artwork, the MUSIC. The entire thing felt like a true RPG Final Boss battle and I loved all of it (yes even you, you pesky Clefable)
@Legends77 no,the way the event worked was that people with sun/ultra sun would get palkia,and people with moon/ultra moon would get dialga. It was a simple gift Pokémon and it destroyed everything considering I wasn’t that far in-game when I got Dialga.
I'm surprised on how close a Pokémon game came to actually seeing a character die. For how light a colorful this game looks. It can't hide the darkness this fight brings.
Every one of Lusamine's tentacles have a different main color gem. It would have been cool if this was done like a horde battle, and every tentacle had an element you needed to defeat.

Most likely the main reason we don't actually get to fight her as a Pokémon is probably because if she was registered as a Pokémon in the game files modders could make it so we actually could use her as a Pokémon

Well, Sun and Moon's Lusamine life is just full of tragedy tbh, her husband dissapears, she gets possesed by and UB, she feels like her own children neglected her, and on top of it after everything that happened she's just left with herself having to realize how much damage she caused to everyone and her own family, she can't get up from bed at all and she's probably going to die without being able to fix her mistakes (and almost none of that is actually her fault...), it made me feel so bad for her...

Well, she was under Nihilego's control, I think, and it wanted to eliminate all of her Pokemon or use them to help itself, I assume. Lunala was the Pokemon who ended up cancelling out Nihilego's power, so you just kinda kept the Motherbeast fusion busy until Lunala could come out and save the day, I guess.

I see this everywhere but the fact is that if we would've fought her it would be morally wrong. Look at just after the fight, where she tries to kill the player and Lillie, which sparked people's attention for being brutal. If we were to battle her, we would essentially be doing the same thing that she tried to do. Plus, who would try to attack Lusamine in front of Lillie, who only went to *save* her mother? Especially as the player is Lillie's friend. If we attacked her mother in front of her, we would essentially be betraying Lillie.

I guess you make a good point how the new story makes lusamine a way less interesting character. But I liked the part where it seems like the story is going to go the exact same of jumping into the wormhole to stop lusamine, but then necrozma appears out of it and just drops her and guzma in front of them implying that necrozma beat both of them itself with ease. And after fighting necrozma I can see why. Although this was necrozma before it went ultra form it was probably still considerably strong since when you battle it on the mountain before the champion league it's in a weakened state but can still uphold a half decent battle before it's caught

I am so disappointed this scene was removed from Ultra Sun/Moon. Lusamine is a pretty abusive person and it was satisfying for Lillie to stand up to her. She is equally as horrible in Ultra Sun/Moon and people just...forgive her. The quality-of-life improvements were all I could hope for in Generation VII. But they seriously downgraded the story from something that was initially ambitious for "Pokémon."
Plus, a lot of peeps here were pretty dissapointed that Lusamine doesn't actually fight you herself. I mean, what is the purpose of going full One-Winged Angel if Gamefreak is just gonna ruin the hype by limiting her cool form to yet another boring magical monster cockfight?
I remember reading how the bad guys in a certain Pokemon game (the one where you fight evil shadow pokemon clones) would actually personally come up to you and *beat your ass to a pulp* after defeating all your pokemon. And there's an episode of the Diamond and Pearl anime where some inspector beats up Team Galactic grunts with a staff. Throwing your pokemon at Lusamine in her fused OWA form as she personally rains hell upon you would be the most badass way to break the mold yet.

The whole game you're fighting a cause that is actually not that unreasonable on the surface and then you find out this guy was pulling the strings and manipulating everyone so he could rule the world. Not only that, but then he comes BACK, with a reformed criminal organization under the idea of simply taking over the world from the get go, and then he actually almost kills the player? One of the most detailed and fleshed out characters to be in a pokemon game imo. Oh and his team can be incredibly powerful if you're only of equal level to N.

The most fucked up moment in all of Pokemon. I knew she was insane but I wasn't expecting this would happen.
Lusamine is honestly one of, if not arguably the best villain in all of pokemon. She is exceptionally creepy and evil, mostly do to the ultra beasts poison to be fair but still, and her fights are actually difficult for most people. She's everything you can ask for from a main antagonist, not sure how Nintendo will be ever able to top her.
if the sinnoh remakes are in fact coming like people say, cyrus can be made to be an even better villain, but we will have to wait and see
Personally I believe Ghetsis takes the cake on best Pokemon villain with how he tricked and manipulated thousands of people. Not to say Lusamine was a bad villain, she was definitely creepy. My problem with her is that she really didn't do too much. This just my opinion however.

In my opinion, I think this is easily the best climax the Pokemon franchise has ever had. And when you compare it to USUM's climax, you really begin to notice that Gamefreak might want to cut back on the end-of-the-world stories, and make more personal tales like this one.

Gen 5 part 2: the abusive dad goes bonkers and nearly kills a kid with a depressed dragon he found in a cave, he abuses it and forces it to fuse with his disowned son's cool dragon
Gen 5 manga edition: abusive father is saved from death thanks to disowned son, shows his thanks by beating him bloody with his cane
Gen 5, but now he's back again: the dude is from an alternate universe (that very well might be the true universe) where he wins and now threatens to give the little girl ptsd of her mommy abusing her. Also plans to rule the universe because Arceus was on its coffee break.
Gen 8: dude sort of adopts kid, destroys his dreams (for admittedly a good reason) activates pokemon that would destroy the world and acts like its all Gucci
Gen 9: Mother/Father dies, Father/Mother leave son in a lab with a prehistoric dog/robo motorcycle, and refuses to elaborate. Son becomes resentful, and after recruiting some schoolmates, storms his home turf in a giant crater. He finds out his parent got mauled and created a robot to impersonate them in their death. Robo parent says that the originals loved their son dearly, the son says its all 🧢 . Watches with glee as they leave, and goes out on a trip with 2 girl buddies and 1 boy buddy, and in another scenario, bro has rizzed 3 ladies that go to his school

Forcing the player character to battle, hurt, or possibly kill another human in order to save not only the main cast but the entire world.
The worst part is it's neither Lusamine nor Nihilego's fault as neither one of them intended to become such an evil threat. Lusamine became obsessed with the ultra beast for a noble cause but lost herself in that obsession and Nihilego is just a creature that feeds off other beings, doing what it needs to for self preservation in the process vastly amplifying the physical and mental attributes of it's host while driving it insane. So all throughout thr battle you question is what you're doing is right? But yet you have no other choice.
It would have been a cool battle, a chance to finally have a TRUE boss character/battle in pokemon. One that would take your wit, skill, invetory, and the entire team you had built to that point to take down the threat. But at such a terrible price, all while calling into question the ethics of having pokemon battles.
Darn it pokemon. You could've really knocked people socks off with this game. oh well. It was still enjoyable.
Fredrick Iyeh Well, I meant as far as the situation goes. Humans stand no chance against most attacks from pokemon so actually doing battle might seriously harm or kill Lusamine. Of course it would never happen in game but the thought of the possibility is what makes the tension.
And pokemon is barely a children's game. Most people playing are adults and they know that. And death is nothing new in a Nintendo games. Mario has killed millions of creatures in his day by stomping on them. I think pokemon actually developing the storyline with more serious themes improves the series overall for all players young and old.

I think another thing. If Lusamine is male, Lillie would’ve abandon her completely.
So if anyone's wondering what is going on with why Lusamine is so chill after the battle with her, it's because she was affected by Nihilego's neurotoxin years ago. For a short description, Nihilego injects it's prey with a neurotoxin and according to Freud's theory of the Ego (reason) and Id (desire) we can discern that the neurotoxin effectively terminates the ego leaving only the id or "desire" behind.
For those wondering how this works, when you desire something the Id gives you the thought that you want something but the Ego acts against the Id, making a person consider consequences of obtaining or owning the object of desire. If one were to be injected with Nihilego's neurotoxin, the Ego would not be there to put the brakes on the Id and so it would run rampant and unchecked causing a person to do anything it takes to obtain what they want with no thought of consequences. We can see Lusamine acting in this way, asking us _why_ she shouldn't do what she wants even though it causes harm to others. The removal of the Id can turn a person into an uncaring monster who only cares for what others or things can do for them never stopping to think of regret or consequences. To them, the object of their desire isn't something they want, but rather need.

And this is why I say that the Original Sun and Moon have the best story in a Pokemon game. A young girl with a Narcissistic mother finds the courage to live for herself, and in doing so, finds it in herself to stand up to her mother and tell her off for the way she's treated everyone around her. Lillie is such a strong and brave person. How anyone can look down on these games is beyond me.

The reason it's like that is because it's prevolution, Charjabug, has higher physical attack. Also, I have no idea how he got it as you can only evolve Charjabug after this battle if I remember correctly.

Lusamonster is the sickiest evil leader after Ghetsis, and, boy, he was sick!

Rellmon Shade Ghetsis is a badass sicko without an “one winged angel” form like Lusamine. She’s baddass, but recurring to a monster form downplays her a little. Ghetis is also the best worst dad.
Rellmon Shade Lusamine was controlled by Nihilego.. Thats why she was insane.. But ghetsis was literally insane and tried to kill you
ghetsis in usum straight up attempts to kill lillie because he cant take a loss. lusamine in sun and moon is just as bad, at her worst moment, but lusamine was very unwell for the whole game and has that possibility of redemption. ghetsis has no fucking hope.
The writing in this game was really damn good. Honestly one of the best I've seen in Pokemon period.
I just wish we actually got to fight her Ultra Beast form. I was so ready to throw some hands.

This is the greatest 'boss battle' Pokemon has ever done. The setup, the artwork, the MUSIC. The entire thing felt like a true RPG Final Boss battle and I loved all of it (yes even you, you pesky Clefable)
And Mother Beast Lusamine made Clefable into a Smug! Clefable now has Meme Potential thanks to Mother Beast Lusamine.
Rose theme is epic but yeah Lusamine with all the setup still the best.

Well it’s normal now because one time a was wonder trading and somebody randomly gave me their GMAX LEVEL 50 CHARIZARD
@Legends77 no,the way the event worked was that people with sun/ultra sun would get palkia,and people with moon/ultra moon would get dialga. It was a simple gift Pokémon and it destroyed everything considering I wasn’t that far in-game when I got Dialga.
I'm surprised on how close a Pokémon game came to actually seeing a character die. For how light a colorful this game looks. It can't hide the darkness this fight brings.
Every one of Lusamine's tentacles have a different main color gem. It would have been cool if this was done like a horde battle, and every tentacle had an element you needed to defeat.

Most likely the main reason we don't actually get to fight her as a Pokémon is probably because if she was registered as a Pokémon in the game files modders could make it so we actually could use her as a Pokémon
I don't really think nintendo is interested in what modders are capable of doing

I love how with the Pokemon anime turning out, and from what I've seen from Ultra Sun and Moon, that really shows that this is just the "Bad End".
Well, Sun and Moon's Lusamine life is just full of tragedy tbh, her husband dissapears, she gets possesed by and UB, she feels like her own children neglected her, and on top of it after everything that happened she's just left with herself having to realize how much damage she caused to everyone and her own family, she can't get up from bed at all and she's probably going to die without being able to fix her mistakes (and almost none of that is actually her fault...), it made me feel so bad for her...
The eyes on Lusamine's Pokémon are different, except for Bewear. Such a weird-ass Pokémon...
