Today's vlog from Itchy Boots was truly a valuable lesson for every motorcycle traveler. The way she handled her stolen motorcycle situation, using AirTags and a double wiring system, was both smart and resourceful. The use of GPS tracking helped her locate the bike, and the backup wiring system ensured she had a fail-safe if one of the systems failed. It's a brilliant example of the importance of taking extra security measures when touring. Thank you, Itchy Boots, for sharing such crucial tips. For anyone who might find themselves in a similar situation, this vlog is a must-watch-knowing how to act and the tools to rely on could make all the difference.
Guys it doesn't have a steering lock or ignition key? One of the most basic obstacles to theft. Yes it's good she has airtags, but if it's parked somewhere out of signal then she is stuffed. This was pointed out when the German guy built it with no electrics. Hey presto we are a month into a trip and someone nicked her motorbike
@@fraserwright9482 Steering locks are nigh on useless as they're easily broken & in an attempt to get round the ignition key was why they cut the wires, which probably would've been much simpler on the original wiring loom. If they can get any modern bike in neutral they could've done exactly what they did in this vid.
I don't understand why backup wiring didn't help ... why did she still have to drive without electronics? I am sorry I don't understand how it works. But yea I wish you would at least give police statement or somethin so they could catch those thieves. Not for you but for others. If they get away with it because you didn't want to give statement that means they will steal from someone else next time : /
It is clear that the people at the hotel have knowledge of the theft. We are following you from Saudi Arabia🇸🇦. Continue your adventures. Our hearts are with you. You are wonderful, Nourali.
@@787878abdullah Rightt ! At first they said that the men in the black shirt was a policeman, then they said that the police is coming after that they ve changed everything they said so weird !
...please, @787878abdullah, how on earth is it "clear that the people at the hotel have knowledge of the theft"? What evidence do you have that was not apparent to Noraly nor the police? Feel free to share with us, but note that hunches and biased gut feelings do not suffice as evidence. Neither does guesswork. We continue to wish Noraly all the best in her journey as she presents us with true facets of humanity.
I did not expect such a cold response from the hotel staff and the police.. hats off to those 2 gentlemen who accompanied you with their presence for protection and providing you food and other needs.. you are truly blessed, to be watched the Almighty and providing comfort and help when needed.. God bless you, stay safe..
@danielbarnes6873 that's why I mentioned that she is truly blessed to have found her bike almost intact.. Just because God is with us, doesn't mean we are protected from troubles, it's the ability in oneself to have the faith that one can overcome these troubles it's what the presence of God does
Yes, German engeneering! We think wider what can be happen. This is one advantage to live in Germany. Other mentalitys in other countries have other advantages. Will say we are in many things not perfect in our country and somtimes we are very slow. i hope Noraly will be repaire Franky complete. Best wishes on Christmas days for all the follwers and Noraly from South Germany
I was thinking along those lines. Once the authorities realize what a famous person she is, if those thieves are caught; they might be in for a very bad time
I agree that the hotel staff was definitely involved. They were very uncooperative. I'm amazed that in all your travels This has never happened before. I'm so glad you and Frankie were reunited.
Çok üzüldüm, o güzel motosiklete nasıl kıydılar. OTEL ÇALIŞANLARININ SENİNLE İLGİLENMEMELERİ UTANÇ VERİCİ. Sana helal olsun diyorum inşallah motorunu tamir ettikten sonra planladığın gibi gezine devam edersin. Bahtın ve yolun açık olsun.
For sure Hotel Personnel involvement, as soon as you told them being able to track the Bike, they probably rang the thieves, and they abandoned it. Plus whats the deal with the Lobby Personnel not calling the Police for you? .... Really impressed with your yechnical ability, Electrical knowhow, and calm under pressure. Well done!
She said the bike had already been abandoned for 2 hours when she got to it. Not sure what the timeframe was in the video, but I doubt it was 2 hours between the start of the video and her finding it.
Yea Mauritz is a the GOAT for thinking so far ahead. Incredible. Great job of Noraly's execution of his contingency plan. Hats off to them both for sure.
@fraserwright9482 Obviously you lack comprehension skills. This bike does have a keyed ignition. The genius part was Mauritz wired her bike with 2 sets of wire loom paths. One that will work under normal conditions with the key, and one that will allow her to run the bike if she has a primary electrical failure. But only the builder, Mauritz and Noraly knew about the second set of wires and only they knew how to operate it. For that reason alone is precisely why the bike theives could'nt get the bike started, but it is also why Noraly was able to get the bike running again despite the main wire harness getting cut. Thats the genius about it. Sorry your're not able to grasp what just transpired.✌🏾🤡 😂😂😂
The redundency built into Frankie by the German builders (Moritz?) paid off on multiple levels. Your self-reliance, determination and grit saved the day and Frankie. You are an inspiration to many Noraly - safe travels - Cheers!
Not just the redundancy, but also the fact that Franky is so ridiculously outdated when it comes to the electrics. With a slightly more modern or even a fully modern bike loaded with all the electronic assist systems, cutting through the wiring harness would be a death sentence.
I wasn't sure as I don't have much clue about motorbikes but now I think Frankie is too simple for a modern thief? And is this statement valid in a developing country? Frankie was built partly for the simplicity of fixing her in those regions. I'm baffled how thieves couldn't figure her out. Noraly mentioned they must have been car thieves. How does cutting wires help to get the engine started? I still think Moritz have done a fantastic job!
Maybe the cut the wires because they were it afraid it would have an alarm. Anyway, a simple old bike has its advantages and it's good to know your own bike inside out like she does. 👍
@@blubbietweeduizend Oh, yes, that makes sense, the alarm! I also thought Frankie doesn't look modern enough to have Air Tags so maybe when they discovered them they gave up. Absolutely, Noraly seem to know much more about her bike that she shows in her videos😀

Moritz did an amazing job building Frankie. Technology (air tags) helped you get Frankie back, but an old school build helped you continue on your journey with minimal inconvenience. You’re an amazingly strong woman. Safe travels.
I think Moritz already planned ahead if these things are going to happen. Dear Moritz, youre a genius, Man! Man o man I ran out of words. Noraly, safe travels dear!
Old school build would have actually been a vibration alarm/hidden switch/horn setup. I, er, know this because that was the old school way we used to use to prevent our bikes being stolen.
As a result of this problem it become clear how good is Moritz, I think that he will have to get much bigger workshop, there would be many work orders coming his way.

Hat off the the lady, great lessons learned just watching the video. She is so compose and brave, able to work on the circumstances. The air tags helps greatly.
To have the guts to go after Frankie yourself, and then proceed to take out your tools and get her running again, WOW. You’re a special lady. Sending much love and Christmas blessings from Texas 🙏🏼❤️
Yes, we that have followed Noraly knew she would take bull by the horns. Could hear it in her voice, chomping at the bit to go while somehwat frustrated the first two men didn't seem to have any urgency. She knew time was of the essence. I love her tenacity. If I had a daughter I would name her Noraly. Sad to see Frankie stolen but wow what an incredible ending. Couldn't write a script better than this. So many lessons to learn from this video. I have always said she is more intelligent that some give her credit for. Truely we are watching the real Wonder Woman. Peace!
I said this was going to happen when there is no steering lock or ignition key. Air tags are great if there is a signal, I don't see this as the last theft she will encounter as it has no key. 🗝️
Cable lock, or chain and hefty padlock. That way it can’t be walked off or towed away. Passed through the wheels or better through the frame and tied off to a post, or other fixed object. I never leave my bicycle or motorcycle unchained.
@@AtomicAndi How I see it is that she did not worry too much. Guess she can afford a new bike anytime. Plus until now she pretty much parked Frankie in gated and locked parking. This time she was ill and chose a hotel with food and comfort offered but parking was somewhat accessible to outsiders. It was a risk and it happened. People suspect the hotel staff may have had something to do with it as they didn't seem to be much involved in calling Police and being supportive. But hey, things happen and we deal with them. With a large account I would have the comfort of worrying about my health more than about my bike. And I'm glad she could recover physically first. Bike is just an item.
The bottom line. You are safe. I know I am not alone ( 2.49 M ) in saying that no matter how much we love your videos, we want you to be safe out there. Thank You, Moritz once again for putting your personal touches on Frankie.
I admire this lady for how she remained calm and got her bike back as well as repaired it. In a strange land. But as always, the Arab hospitality was there to assist her as she progressed. Well done guys!
WTF Arab hospitality are you talking about...NEITHER of the two clowns at the front desk said..."lets go and get it..." BECOUSE THEY ARE IN on it, the bike was 2blocks away, they were giving the thiefs a head start.....I laugh at your Arab Hospitality comment. The meaning of Arab hospitality is " we will rob you, and we will send you on your way"
Wow Noraly u are BadAss Seeing you fix the bike was the moment i thought i want my daughter to be this independent, this confident. What guts, What a soul, what a journey.
Yeah , it was at that moment when she started to fix the bike , I said to myself - I love that woman - so self sufficient , in control , confident , and admirable.
Compare this incident with what happened in Iran and Shams Ali's family... you will find a clear difference between the two neighboring countries... I hope you leave Iraq safely... we are waiting for you with love...
@@yineLeyla This honorable lady has traveled almost the whole world with her motorcycle and this is the first time that such an incident has happened... yes just in Iraq
16:51 I'm watching this on Christmas night. I'm a bit sick, and on the grumpy side of a mood. But these two guys sharing their food, and telling you they wanted to keep you safe and make sure that you can get Frankie going - that made me smile for the first time today. Two punks tried to ruin your day, but many others just want to help. Thank you for the smile, Noraly.
I like the way Itchy Boots has dealt with the situation. I never realised the extent of the preparation and precautions she takes before her trips to deal with every kind of situation. Hats off to her, once again! Ride safely!
I think you might be slightly misinterpreting the preparation extent etc. The bike builder builds in a back up wiring harness, not for theft, cutting the wire to prevent power to airtags is the most likely reasoning, and Noraly doesn't use any other theft deterrence. She uses no steering lock, disc lock, cable lock, motion sensor, alarm, phone alert from air tags..to wake her up at the moment, seems weird that she just leaves a free rolling bike under a tarp with attractants like luggage while on a big world trip. It was no doubt going to happen sooner or later.
OMG, my heart skipped a beat when I read the title. A couple of episodes back I was praising the universal hospitality around the world, and now this! Thank God you are just fine and so is Frankie. This incident just reminded us the hard way, that we are following week in, week out and cheering for a very brave woman alone against a world that can be at times very cruel. Please take care of you Noraly.
Still, keep hope for humanity. There's always gonna be 1 or 2 people that get a little lost, and hopefully, they find their way back. We come from love, we just get here and our egos get in our way. And we forget it . Blessings to all, may grace dance with you on your path.
Guys the motorbike has no key. 😂 Anyone can start it. Her Honda has a key and whilst I love African hospitality this seems a bit of a long stretch to assume this would not happen anywhere.
@@fraserwright9482 She said in the video... she has the key. Why are you so insistent in explaining your opinion - mansplaining. This event happened months ago and she is off and gone from Iraq. You seem to want to bash her move. Geesh
Trust me, for this trip, you definitely don’t need to replace the entire wiring harness. The nearest service center, which is fully capable of neatly soldering it together, can do the job in 1-2 hours without any issues. There’s no reason to feel down or worry about it. I’ve been a specialist in this field for over 30 years.Any way-good luck!Cheers from Germany.
Yes, all those wires can be rejoined but it depends on how well that is done as to long term reliability. It sounds like the wiring loom is custom so getting a replacement could be difficult.
I feel sorry for what you’d been through. But however, you’re an amazing woman. You’re able to fix your own bike and extremely calmed. You’re an inspiration. Hoping the best for you and have a safe journey. ❤
Moritz taught you well! You know Frankie inside out! Your self reliance comes through again! So happy you are reunited!!! Hope you can get it properly sorted out!
Something as simple as a key in a steering lock like most Motorcycles stops people pushing the motorbike away. This German Fachwissen is also why it got taken in the first place
Here in Brazil, due to the high rates of motorcycle theft, it’s common to install trackers that are powered by the motorcycle’s main power line (connected directly to the battery to function even when the engine is off). That’s why thieves here often cut the wiring to avoid being tracked - that’s probably why they cut it.
Ya, no doubt that is exactly why they cut it. Its amazing how many interpret this incorrectly. I wonder why there was no other theft prevention ideas like...steering lock, disc lock, cable lock, motion sensor, alarm, phone alarm telling her air tags are in motion......makes me wonder.....
My bike was stolen once and the person(s) rolled the bike out of sight, cut all of the wires near the steering column, then attempted to hotwire. Luckily they blew fuses and eventually gave up. But what I'm saying is, cutting the wires solely to disable tracking is not definitively the reason they cut hers. They would need only know or figure out which wire(s) to jump in order to get the bike live and able to run minimally, exactly as she did at the end of the episode.
Almost all stolen and recovered-ish street motorcycles I've ever seen (at police and insurance auctions, going back to the 70's) had the locks (if any) and one of the main battery cables cut near the battery terminals, and the thieves quietly either pushed / pulled the bikes a short distance away to a waiting van or truck, or quickly lifted it directly into one without attempting to start the bike at all. An alarm (or hard wired tracker) won't work without electricity, and only some have internal power sources. Slide hammered and punched out ignition switches were usually only to defeat the steering head lock. Attempts to hotwire to get the engine running came later, once back at the thieves garages.
Not really no the bikes that they drive they are cg125 or cg150 based on the old iconic honda from 90's or 80's and they're Chinese bikes that don't really have any security how they steal it is the main wiring harness runs along the bikes and really visible and easy to reach without moving anything so basically just grab the harness cut it and like i said it's a Chinese bike without even jacking the wires the bike starts right away by just cutting the harness and when the tried to do that on her bike didn't really work out they got a notification about an air tag following them and just ditched the bike when it fell they knew it was a pain in the ass to start lol
I truly feel your pain. My 49cc motorized bike was stolen about 3 years ago. Although I've motorized another bike, I still miss Pepe. He logged over 1000 miles in over 15 years, which is pretty amazing for a 49cc 2 stroke-John in Texas
WTF .......😳 A shady reaction from the hotel at first, not calling the police and just no action. So glad you got her back!! Damn ....girl.... You handled it like a boss 👊👊👌
Some hotel staff was in on the scam. Very fishy to leave the bike like that. Someone in hotel must've told them to find the 2nd air tag before police come and they couldn't so had to leave it.
With these emotional reactions, you don't know their culture and their words so judgement is yet uninformed. If you know what they are saying and have proof of any lack of integrity, then maybe there is some suspicion.
@Care2WorldBuild which culture is known for hotel staff not calling police when a guest's vehicle is stolen??? That list would be beneficial to many.....
This is why Moritz insisted on building a bike for you that was as simple and absent of nanny aids and gizmos in order to create the maximum amount of redundancy and fail-safe reliability in case the SHTF. This definitely qualifies as SHTF! I remember him talking about creating the fully redundant electrical system, insisting on a kick-start option, etc etc. Every part he chose and every decision made was for situations like this where the apocalypse is coming down on you. Glad you are safe. Frankie will ride again!!
I disagree, she does not have a key to lock or start it. There is no steering lock and if they look at how to start it they can ride off, even Moritz boasted how you can start it by turning on the fuel and kick starting it. This is one of the most basic acts to stop theft as you can't push it away or into a van without help. Her Honda wasn't stolen at any point. That's how stupid this idea was
@@fraserwright9482 Again you have no clue. If Moritz wasn't that prepared the bike was gone ! No one can start that bike without knowledge of how it works. If she'd have had the Honda in that situation the trip was over !
This was an inside job. Those hotel staff probably knew about it, & the tracking got them unaware. When they realised you got to the building where the bike was hidden, they pulled you abit far away so that the motorbike could be removed from the building, so that the police don't get it inside there & bring problems to the owner of building or caretaker
I guess they do same thing for all customers, what is that Hotel Name?. Such country Police also same. Please leave that city and hotel ASAP if you are sill there.
If they still cut off peoples hands maybe they consider the penalty for vehicle theft to be a little harsh and are reluctant to contact the police due to the maiming of the theives if they get caught.
It looks like an inside (hotel) job . Not wanting to get the police ect . I don't think they were expecting a female on her own to be brave enough to go after it .
@@Moniqueg005_ I love the people of Iraq and Syria, but this is pretty common in hotels: the staff organise the timing of the theft, tell you not to contact police etc. and if they do the police are usually in on it as well and want baksheesh for the return. It looked like the guy with you was giving updates to the thiefs and told them about the airtags so told them to leave it, not worry the trouble

I have to question the judgement of a person that takes a motorcycle ride in the middle east and hopes all will be ok. But then again a title like "They stole my motorcycle in Iraq" gets a lot of views! One wonders what is real and what is fake on social media.
Your mindset in all of this and ability to see the humour in the stupidity of the thieves is a testimony to your strength, resilience, and streetsmarts, Noraly. 💪
Was thinking same. I was surprised to learn of cameras everywhere there which would make us wonder, did they not realize that, or just too stupid. I have learned most theives in general are stupid. That bike in Iraq is like a white elephant. Lets draw attention to ourselves by stealing it! No idea if police there would have investigated it or not. Peace!

In case anyone had any doubts, today you show us that in addition to being a motorcycle traveler, you are a woman of resources who knows how to face problems without despair. Congratulations and thank you for continuing to tell us about your trip despite the difficulties.
Yes Noraly keeps shining through in this way. I've often referred to Noraly as the real Wonder Woman (see her shirt S1 intro). We've seen her navigate through some very difficult circumstances that required extreme mental strength and this one ranks high on the list. No one can be compared to Noraly, and Noraly can not be compared to anyone. Peace!
Maybe not directly involved, but it could be they have friends or relatives that they suspect could have done it and wanted to protect them. Or possibly they knew getting police involved could complicate things even further
They were attracted with all the bags you put on Franky. The thieves thought they would find valuables in those bags. We can't wait to see you ride again Noor ❤
I'm so sorry to hear about your motorcycle being stolen - what a terrifying and violating experience, especially while traveling alone. But I'm overjoyed that you were able to recover it! Your strength and resilience in handling this situation is truly inspiring. WOW! Incredible episode of shock, despair, determination, tracking, eureka, recovery, repair, regroup, and the show goes on! Glad that you're safely reunited with Frankie and your belongings. What an amazingly unstoppable woman you are, Noraly!
Three Things: 1) I listened to the timeline, but I’m still not confident the hotel person wasn’t involved. He kept putting her off finding Frankie and waiting on police. Having lived in the Middle East, I wouldn’t dismiss the idea of hotel staff being involved in the theft. 2) The tracking pods were mentioned several times in front of the hotel person. Is it possible the reason the wire bundle was cut was because the thieves were notified by hotel staff about the tracker? Maybe they wanted to stop her from tracking Frankie? Another reason the hotel staff was delaying her? 3) Even though she didn’t want to press charges, she should have asked the police to go back to the hotel to make sure they didn’t want to press charges for trespass. If the hotel wasn’t involved, they would want to protect their reputation. Many hotels in the Middle East are by word of mouth, so they may have pushed prosecution (if not involved). Just some thoughts!
Hi Noraly ! So sorry about this misadventure. I've been watching you for many years, but today I feel enormous respect for you, for your calm and resilient attitude. Great example for all of us. Thank you so much, and good luck in Iraq.
As a rider, I could feel every second of this incident. Any bike becomes part of our soul and body in few days, losing it or seeing it in bad shape hurts any true rider. Glad that you got it back in usable state. Wishing you happy miles ahead !!
You are truly one of the most remarkable individuals I’ve ever come across. Even the thought of you being late and possibly never seeing Frenkie again breaks my heart. It’s an absolute injustice for someone as talented, cheerful, and courageous as you-someone who selflessly promotes everywhere you go without expecting anything in return. May God watch over you and ensure nothing bad ever comes your way. With all my respect and best wishes.
So sorry to hear about this. I'm actually surprised that something like this hasn't happened before. Congratulations on effective problem solving to get Frankie back on the road. @@simonstucki thanks for explaining. I'm thinking there is a reason for why Noraly wouldn't have one. Could it be about the overall weight of the bike? Or storage space? I used to hike long distances. It was always about the weight and space limit lol
as a Mechanic,i think that is a quite easy fix.each wire has it's own colour.what you need to do is,get wires the same diameter and colour and either put them together with connectors or better solder them together and isolate the whole cable tree again and each wire with either tape or shrinkage plastic.any Motor or Car electrical shop should be able to help you.

Hi Noraly, as said already by many others, as an electrical engineering I would suggest that you find a good electrician or electronics shop. They should have shrink tubing and a soldering iron, and will fix this cable problem easily. You may just take care that also the outer harness is closed again with a separate and wider shrink tube or with waterproof tape. For a shrink tube to be waterproof, before I start the shrinking I usually put some silicone glue between the outer side of the cut harness and the inner side of the shrink tube fitting over it, to make the connection between both waterproof. You may do this also for the smaller shrink tubes covering the resoldered cable ends. Just put silicone glue over the nicely cleaned soldered part, and then slide the shrink tube over and shrink it. Then you end up with completely watertight cables and with a watertight harness, good enough for a world trip. And, having a soldering iron and some shrink tube in your repair kit could be of good use. If you need help, you may find me through the internet. Best wishes from Freiburg, Germany.
Exactly as I mentioned earlier. Well said, all totally repairable, yup, soldering, heatshrink, I have even greased internal wires prior to heatshrink etc before now. We all wish we could be there for Noraly 😅
probably be a better repair if the whole loom is replaced, looms that have been repaired are always going to be trouble. besides do you want a big clump of repaired loom getting tangled up around you steering head.
@@gogogeedus That's the at home do it right repair. We're talking the finish the trip and get it home fix. Solder and heat shrink would make the cleanest "field repair" that she's likely to get. Where this trip is taking her, they could butt splice those wires back together and have no problems as long as they were properly sealed. It wouldn't look pretty, but it would last the few months left in this trip with no issues. Actually, some would argue that if she's going to be taking rough roads (and most of them are over there) then butt splices would be the better fix since a solder joint is allegedly more brittle and succeptable to failure due to vibrations.
@@davidpullar5453 I was thinking about those too. Love them & use them all the time. I definitely think it would be a good addition to the road side repair kit.

I wonder why, often enough, people such as this get such "respect" for something that was ultimately preventable....no steering lock, no disc lock, no cable lock, no motion sensor alarm, and no phone alert telling her that her airtags were now in motion...pretty basic...makes me wonder...makes me wonder quite a lot.

I'm so sorry your motorcycle was stolen. However, I'm glad you found it again. Good luck to both you and Frankie. Love from Turkey
When you left the Turkey, i know that something is going to happen. I knew it from my experience! My Turkey trip was amazing but after I passed the border to Iraq, they stole my bag etc. It was nightmare. Same thing happened in Iran also. Fingers crossed Noraly. Take care of you, stay safe, ride safe 😊
So If I follow the steps you have guided in the video I can make your bike start. How generous and thoughtful of you and thank you for letting people with bad intent know they must remove the tags first. Thumbs up and hats off.
Maurice is a genius. You have exactly the motorcycle you wanted and needed. I think that is possible that someone at the hotel may have been involved but we will never know. A woman is viewed as an easy target… however, you are not the an ordinary woman. You have my respect, you overcame of the most difficult circumstances that could have happened and overcame. Perfect 😍.
The guy built a motorbike with no key or steering lock and after a month it gets stolen. Nice bike to do Sand raiders on, not a good idea if you can't lock it. What do they expect?
Yusen and Paul were so sweet, all of the helpers give me faith in humanity. Especially wonderful to see that in a country where women are not always kindly treated. Very nice! ❤
I got my CRF250L stolen out to the back of my pickup truck at my house within 15 minutes of me getting home. I ran inside to use the bathroom and when I came out to unload, the bike was gone. I didn't have an AirTag yet. Very fortunately the bike was found a week later by the police about an hour away. When I got it from the impound the bike had been painted primer grey and two rear spokes were missing. I cleaned her up, bought all new plastics and an Acerbis 3.5 gallon tank. What a crappy feeling getting your bike stolen. There's an AIrTag on her for sure now! Glad you got your bike back so fast Noraly!!
Your calmness, your determination, and your willingness to take on anything is beautiful. If you can repair two wires, you can repair 14. You might have to. You will succeed!
A soldering Iron patients and some shrink tubing will re-connect all those wires as a permanent fix, New loom not necessary. Find a good auto electrician it's an hours work. The fact you had a back up wiring system is a massive credit to the guys who built your Bike. Bravo!
I agree with you in the mindset that it's not that big of a deal to fix all the wires instead of only two. Soldering ... i prefer other solutions. But beggars can't be choosers: The repair shouldn't shorten the wires very much and mustn't make a big bulge in the loom. Whatever solution is available and fits the requirements will do it and might last longer then the whole trip. Of course, a new loom is the most reliable solution. However, I'm pretty sure her backlog of videos isn't that short. The moment we discuss this matter here she already got it done and is on her way.
You can get the joiners with solder in them , all you have to do is plug the wires in and heat the joiner and the solder melts around the wire and shrinks the outer plastic over the wire, my dog did the same thing on my motorbike trying to get at a birds nest and I rejoined them all like that so no need for an iron.
@@adeaston6553 I keep some Wago quick connectors in my tool bag for situations like this. If I’m deep in the back country I won’t be able to plug in my soldering iron. But I do carry a soldering iron, plus a small multimeter. But I thought I carried a lot of tools and parts, Noraley carries way more than I do.
Newly available low tamp solder connectors that solder and seal with hot air. Replacing the whole loom you run the risk of we’ll Intended help that may make your bike worse. When the replacement loom is not an exact replacement. I would splice the wires back together with the least amount of dismantling what is there.
Wow. Good catch. Someone in the hotel staff probably knows the thieves. Notice, I said 'probably'. This incident happened months ago and she is out of Iraq and elsewhere. She is strong woman - emotionally mature and intellectually mature.

Dear Norally, I'm so glad you're reunited with your friend Frankie. Unfortunately, there are a small number of bad people all over the world. Well done Noraly. Its not so difficult for an auto electrician or mechanic to resplice the loom as the wires are all colour coded. Just make sure that solder joints are good and that they are well insulated with heat shrink sleeving. That will keep you going until you can replace the loom. Well done for using airtags, for staying as calm as possible and for being persistent. May the rest of your journey be more uneventful.

I'd have a least 6 air tags on the bike and a few hidden switches that disable it.
@CHRnorton Plus some stickers that say "Don't even try to steal it, lol"
You see what was directly over the road from Frankie where she was left .hm
It has no ignition key and it has no steering lock 😂 why is this seen as genius when the kids stole it
@fraserwright9482 Obviously you lack comprehension skills.
Ik weet dat het kastig meenemen is maar een goede ketting is eigenlijk een must.

They will repair it, but its not that easy. The location is with maximal bending, therefore it would break again.
It is very capable of fix it without buying a new wire harness if done right would have no need to break. It not a difficult job to fix.
For dry trips, it's fine but it's not reliable. New wiring loom is best.
Do both, get the wires properly soldered and track down a new harness.

The time she spent in Germany, has definitely payed off! Great idea for Moritz to have her there as the bike was been reassembled
Same as Turkey
Yes very curious reaction.
wow big surprise that's because someone in the hotel was in on it with whoever took it.
A lot if not most vehicles stolen in Montreal and many cities is tied to the night staff at hotels.
Some hotel staff was in on the scam. Very fishy to leave the bike like that. Someone in hotel must've told them to find the 2nd air tag before police come and they couldn't so had to leave it.
@@billruss6704 no, not really. They do not want police involved most times.
I ve never seen people so reluctant to help like the guys at the hotel.
Absolutely agree! What a shame!
because all of them Kurdish people.
They know something or might be involved ?
That's how stupid this idea was
never knew there got so much into bikes, that's cool!
Yes. It's a good thing Moritz showed her how to jumper the ignition in case she had any problem with the wiring, kill switch or start switch.
@@fraserwright9482 Again you have no clue. If Moritz wasn't that prepared the bike was gone ! No one can start that bike without knowledge of how it works. If she'd have had the Honda in that situation the trip was over !
@@fraserwright9482 LOL are you planning on making these same silly replies on every comment? Steering locks are almost useless
The guys at the hotel were very reluctant to call the police.
They are the ones who stole it . Very abvious
They don't have their heads in the sand.
@@WilliamAshleyOnline they're probably related to the thieves? That's why they were so incredibly reluctant to call the police.
So glad you got your Frankie back. The hotel staff was suspicious, reluctant to help.
That is what I am thinking!

Peace!

They may not be involved, however they may have other reasons to avoid any police matters, we will never know!

That's why the just abandoned the bike, they got a call...

@@simonstucki thanks for explaining. I'm thinking there is a reason for why Noraly wouldn't have one. Could it be about the overall weight of the bike? Or storage space? I used to hike long distances. It was always about the weight and space limit lol
Disc locks are ok but if someone tries to move the bike the disc will probably be damaged by twisting in its mount
as a Mechanic,i think that is a quite easy fix.each wire has it's own colour.what you need to do is,get wires the same diameter and colour and either put them together with connectors or better solder them together and isolate the whole cable tree again and each wire with either tape or shrinkage plastic.any Motor or Car electrical shop should be able to help you.
Yes, was going to suggest the solder and shrink wrap.

Solder Seal Wire Connector Solder melts with a match or lighter and also shrink's fitted shrink tube at the same time. Basically a permanent repair.
