Do your Google Slides presentations have to be "pubished to the web" for them to be attached to the classroom screen? I never have had a reason to publish them to the web.

Yes. It's how you would get the embed code to embed them directly into classroomscreen.

I like this platform but my issue is with using my slides to interact while showing to students. I know in Google Slides if I am in present mode I have to have the movement and items prerecorded to move where etc. What if I want to use Google slides not in present mode so that I can interact, do I have to resize it within the classroomscreen each time? I use several Google Slide Presentations at any given time.

Classroomscreen is merely a way to present all your materials for the lesson and use tools like the timer and name picker all in one location (screen). Unfortunately, it's not really made for interactivity. You will want to share your Slides in another Tab to do the interactive lessons.

How do you share the screen ?

Classroomscreen is not an interactive site. This is solely for the teacher to teach from. If your Ss are in-person, they can come up to your smart board and manipulate the screen that way. But, to share the tab you have classroomscreen pulled up in would be to just project it on your smart board in-person or share your screen as you normally would in your virtual conference (via Teams, Meets, Zoom, etc.).

Does playing the video through this portal alleviate the issue with students not being able to hear the audio?

Playing video/audio through any platform only works as long as you are selecting the correct way to share the video/audio. For instance, in Google Meet, the only way to make sure video/audio can be heard is by sharing a Chrome Tab. If you do share your whole screen, it's not going to come out right for students to hear. It's more about the selection of how to share your screen so that the audio and video can be seen/heard.

My experience that if using something like Zoom you have to choose to share the audio when you share your screen.

Can you invite students to your screen?

No. It does not appear to have a collaborative feature. The one thing it does have is a poll feature but there is not link to share it out. I don't discuss in my video because you have to have students come up one-by-one to vote/answer the poll. It's not really something applicable right now in remote or with social distancing.
