    Regarding Markus Naslund, I remember when he was early with the team and the Canucks started the season with two games in Japan against the Anaheim Ducks to help promote the NHL overseas. Canucks tried a first line of Markus, Pavel Bure and Mark Messier together and at least two separate times during those games, Markus was set up with an open net to shoot at but missed and I yelled at my TV "Who is this Naslund bum?!?!" What a difference a few seasons made.

    being the keyboard warrior that i am, i've taken runs at button through the years but he really is a classy guy who figured it out and is one of the best at what he does.

    Did Craig actually try to make an equivalence between Luke’s loser rant and Bieksa’s media meat comment? Bieksa was standing up for EDM players. Luke was salivating in a strange, uncalibrated way as he seemed to want nothing more than to burn the entire VAN house down…

      Yah I don’t find the Bieksa and Gazdic comments remotely comparable

      I believe he was using it as an example as to how to respond. Bieksa burned the Edmonton media (and really, specifically only two or three of them) and they didn't respond. Gazdic responded to the vile trolls who reacted to his congratulatory post on twitter for the Oilers. Why are these trolls even responding? He would of done the same tweet if it were the Canucks that had made it to the finals - that's what sent him off on his rant. Did you even read the tweets he got - just vile and if I were a Canucks fan I'd of been embarrassed and would have disowned those trolls. Totally uncalled for - and would love to see those cowards who most likely live in their mom's basement say those things to Luke's face.

      @@KptKrunch9481 I think Gazdic has every right to be frustrated and disgusted by the trolls hounding his account. He’s relatively new to the industry, and I believe everyone can agree the Vancouver/Edmonton series was crazy. You had the worst from both sides blasting away on social media, and no doubt Gazdic was on the receiving end of some vile messages. I can’t fault him for reacting in the moment.
      However, I just don’t think he did himself any favors. This reaction is exactly what those trolls were hoping for. They successfully got under his skin, and I suspect this will only add fuel to the fire. I know Donnie and Dhali briefly spoke about their personal experiences with online harassment. I imagine Dhali unfortunately is subjected to a lot of racism, and I've personally seen an immense amount of misogyny directed at Botterill. Yet, I haven’t seen them personally attack a team or organization, and that's where he made his mistake.
      I don’t believe anyone should be calling for him to lose his position on the panel. People make mistakes, and I doubt he will make this one again. I’m not asking him to love the Canucks or even like them at all. The only thing he needs to do is show some respect towards the Canucks as an organization/team and I believe he has that.

      @@Hawks12 very well said and I agree 100% - I don't blame him for calling out the trolls but attacking the organisation was and is uncalled for. I'm sure he has learned his lesson. In today's world you need a (very) thick skin to deal with the bullies who are hiding behind their keyboards. Personally, Canucks are my 3rd fav Canadian team and prior to the Jets and Oilers joining the NHL were my 2nd favorite team (grew up watching Bobby Orr what can I say :) ) . But I do hate trolls making personal attacks to celebs - there's free speech and then there's slander and verbal assault. Unfortunately, the human race can be an ugly cesspool at times - but we have enough 'good' people to outshine the minority of those trolls.

    Flames fan here. It's all good, Craig, that was 25 years ago! Dealt tough some cards back then (decade of poor drafts before him 90-98), owners who wanted hardnose hockey, rising salaries (no cap yet). Those bad trades (St Louis, Giguere, Savard) turned out a mess but had to shake up the roster. Brought in solid players every Flames fan remembers (Ference, Leopold, Yelle, Conroy, Donovan, Drury, McAmmond, Lindsay, Turek), some who were key players for Flames season in '04 cup run.

    Forsling was a very promising prospect for Canucks, and then Benning traded him in attempt to keep Canucks competitive. The player they traded for played next to no games for Canucks. Benning did so much damage to the team during his tenure.

    critism is part of tje job. Sorry you cant take it luke gazdic. Show some professionalism if you have any at all.

    • @KptKrunch9481
      @KptKrunch9481 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes and no - criticism is one thing but as I've always said (and this goes for all fans of all teams) if you wouldn't say something to someone's face, then you shouldn't hide behind a keyboard and say it. I don't blame Luke for doing it (though I wouldn't in his position) but Van fans (not all mind you and I realize it's a small minority of them) are the most vile and uneducated fans on the internet. Personally I think the vast majority of the trolls don't even watch hockey - they troll to get under peoples skin (whether its Luke or someone else) and then they cry when that person fires back - shows what kind of backbone those trolls have.

    I never blamed Benning for the Forsling trade. I mean, you trade away a 5th rounder prospect, who would was a few years away from making it, assuming he is even interested in leaving Europe.... and you get a defenseman picked in the 2nd round, a RHD who has put up 59 points in 74 AHL games, but stuck behind a stacked Blackhawks defense core (Keith, Seabrook, Hjalmarsson, Oduya, Timonen, Rundblad, Rozsival) and who may no longer be waiver-exempt anymore. Good trade at the time... but hindsight is 20/20.

    Wow. Did you watch Florida play the Rangers? Bobobsky is way better than Skinner. Canucks almost beat Oilers . If they had 5 more minutes. They would have tied Edm and won in OT. Canucks were shocked losing Boeser to blood clots. That's why they did not wake up until the 3rd period. Florida is big , mean, nasty and has a bunch of scorers too with the most underrated center in league in Barkov. Panthers in six. Hate the Oilers and mcbaby and arrogant fan base. Mcbaby high sticks Hughes on purpose. No call. Does it against the stars and gets called. Karma baby. Oilers used to blow out the Canucks in the 80s. Never forget.
