Some clean sounds going through a Fender-style amp model on the Yamaha THR10ii. Gear - Ibanez AZES40-BK - Boss GT1 - Yamaha THR10ii recorded through Logic Pro
Hi again Hans, I love your playing and your contribution to music... and you are so helpful! I am having a lot of fun using your John Mayer "Slow Dancing in A Burning Room" settings. I had to transpose and tweak it a little bit, because I use a different "Effects Unit" and a "Vox Amp." That being said; it sounds great with your core settings. Nailed it! I wanted to ask? What make Strings are you using? And what String Gauge do you use? I am using the Ibanez "factory Strings," which were good. I believe they are .010 to .046's However, they now need changing? Hope you can help me out? And thank you for your help. Much appreciated. Cheers. Phil
Thank you for the kind words! For this video, I used the factory strings which were .010-.046. They felt like 9s because of the Ibanez AZES40's shorter 25" scale length. On 25.5" scale length guitars like Strats, I use 9s. These days, I use 10s on my Strandberg since it's a multi-scale guitar. As for the brand, I find that Elixir Nanowebs 10-46 last the longest for me.
Thanks, man! Sorry I can’t remember the exact product code. I looked up the nuts on the Graphtech site and PT-5000-00 might be your best bet. What I do remember is the nut my local guitar tech installed was slightly longer than the required dimension. You can always sand it down if it’s too long. Hope that helps though and thanks for checking out the video.
Hi Hans are these the Stock Ceramic pickups? Or have they been modded please? I have an AZES40 in Mint Green great Jimi Hendrix Wind Cries Mary tones and nice playing cheers!
Hi I’m a beginner needing some help with amp settings. Do you play with headphones on your Yamaha THR? I have the same guitar and Yamaha THR10II but when I play with headphones on it sounds different. Also what model of bridge did you change it to? Did you also change the tuners?
Hi. I just play through the amp. Sound will depend on the quality your headphones, so I suggest investing in some studio headphones. I changed the bridge to a Wilkinson WVP6-SB 5+1. I kept the tuners stock, but if I had this guitar again, I would change them to staggered locking tuners . Hope that helps!
Here are the amp and FX settings I used when I adjusted my tone for this guitar. Yamaha THR10ii Voice: Classic Amp: Clean Cab: Vintage 4x12 Gain: 50 Master: 92 Bass: 1 Mid: 55 Treble: 80 Boss GT-1 Guitar Effects Processor Compressor Type: D-Comp Sustain: 50 Level: 50 Attack: 50 Tone: +20 Reverb Type: Hall 2 Time: 4.0s E. level: 70 Low cut: 160Hz High cut: 4.00kHz
@@froilanbas759 Thanks! I prefer the AZES40 because of its versatility. It can go from jazz all the way to hard rock and fusion, and everything in between. The neck shape feels more comfortable, faster to play on due to lack of a finish at the back, and the 25” scale makes it easier to bend. It also costs less than a Classic Vibe.
This is exactly the AZES40 demo I was looking for. Fantastic tones.Thank you Hans!!
Thank you for watching! 🙏🏻
Same!
Thank you for sharing!
Thank you, Tomo!

Hey man sounds awesome, was wondering what graph tech nut model did you use specifically
Thanks, man!

@@hanskorn thanks man really appreciate it I know there is a ton to choose from

Hello. They’re stock ceramic pickups. I only changed the nut and bridge on this guitar. Thank you!
@@hanskorn Hey! What bridge did you replace the original for? I hate the wobblyness the original one has in the actual arm.

Hi,do you recommend for this guitar, Thanks.
Yes, absolutely.
Grrat playing, what bridge did you upgrade to ?
Thanks! Wilkinson WVP6-SB 5+1.
@@hanskorn thanks, I just bought an AZ40 myself, is it worth the upgrade of the bridge did you notice improved tuning stability? Thanks
@@toneranger Congrats on your guitar! Yes, worth the upgrade. The guitar does not go out of tune easily despite heavy whammy usage.
@@hanskorn thanks alot Hans. I might get one or even double upgrade to a 2 point trem. Cheers
All stock? Amazing crispy tones
I eventually changed the nut and bridge, but pickups and electronics remained stock.
@@hanskorn You played so good. Torn between this and the classic vibe squier 60s. I like both of their necks. Which do you prefer?
@@froilanbas759 Thanks! I prefer the AZES40 because of its versatility. It can go from jazz all the way to hard rock and fusion, and everything in between. @@hanskorn bro one last thing. How's the bending with the stock strings. Is it easier because of the scale length?
Yes, the scale length makes it easy to bend with the stock 10s. I didn’t need to change to 9s.
What s the song name @1:05 ? Thx! Awesome guitar man!
Thanks! “Lenny” by Stevie Ray Vaughan & Double Trouble.
What equipment you use?
In this video, Boss GT1 into Yamaha THR10 II.
@@hanskorn very nice result👍
Stock azes40?
Yes.
be out of sync with the sound
