my tbr for december is a court of wings and ruin by sarah j maas (3rd book in acotar series), looking for alaska by john green, finale by stephanie garber(last caraval book), regretting you by coho, icebreaker by hannah grace, archers voice by mia sheridan, and i want to reread the book thief by markus zusak!
I am gonna read the Hawthorne legacy, A court of mist and fury, twisted hate.
already into my December TBR so here is it + what I thought of the ones I read so far ^^ (oh and btw I'm French so I apologize in advance for my English haha)
- The Secret History by Donna Tartt (OMG, FIVE/SIX STARS READ!! It is now on the podium of my fav books ever, I felt so bright and mysterious reading this and mostly, the characters and their whole lifestyle is just SO fascinating. I'm bad at describing my affection for novels, but this one was as fascinating as disturbing sometimes because the (marvelous) casting of characters had morally grey actions, but you still loved them so much anyway. I need a new heart now for this book stole mine away. Please, read this book, there's a reason why it's considered a modern classic for it is a masterpiece!!)
- Daisy Jones & The Six by TJR (finally read this and I wish I'd done it sooner for it is sooooo good. As an enormous rock'n roll fan who dresses as one, tries to play the piano and the guitar as one and who watched every movie about rockstars she could, I do recommand. Although, it was unfortunately a 4.5 stars read for the character of Daisy was just too perfect for me, neither in her actions nor in her life, but whatever she would do she would just be better than anyone else, and that irritated me. Otherwise, it was brilliant, easy to read and with very powerful quotes and thoughts that are already living in my mind!)
Then, I have left to read:
- Eleanor Oliphant Is Completely Fine by Gail Honeyman
- You'd be home now by Kathleen Glasgow
- A Little Life by Hanya Yanagihara
And I'm new to your channel but already love it! Go girl, you're beautiful and have very great taste in books so goooo
Omg I love the red queen series, and in case you’re wondering if the red queen has romance in it , yes it does. It has a romance subplot and the love interest is one of my favorite characters.. And so does the shadow and bone series which again, is another one of my favorite series. Trust me , both of these series just gets better and better and I love them both
I promise none of those fantasies should intimidate you, they’re all great beginner books and most of them have romance!

As a reader who DNF’d and ONE STARRED ACOTAR five whole years ago, I finally picked up ACOTAR again last week and if you’re looking for motivation to read it, let me just say I’m halfway through ACOMAF with 4 and 5 in paperback making their way to me now (three I had.) Just dive in. You’re happy once you’re there.

Shadow and Bone is sooo good and once you finish it you can go onto Six of Crows which is MY favorite book in the world. Also there is some romance in it! Although it's not the main plot, it's got some very romantic scenes!

I'm actually planning on diving into the twisted series in either December or January next year. I bought the first book and definitely plan on going and getting the rest of the series if I love it.

I loved the Hush, Hush trilogy!
Ahh the sweetest oblivion I feel like wasn’t that dark so you might enjoy it. It’s darker because of mafia aspect but not as dark as some of the other mafia or dark romances that are out there. The whole series is actually really good.

to be fair, I think Hush Hush was a good cover for the year it was released... I remember reading the series when I was younger and really liking it
The Sweetest Oblivion isn't all that dark, I promise. At least not in my opinion.
Personally I like the second book more, and that's a bit darker, but not a whole lot.

okay I don’t want to set the bar too high, but I have read the Hush Hush series 3 times and I still have a soft spot in my heart for it. Could be because I read it in middle school and it’s nostalgic but as an adult I still read it if I’m in a slump. I hope you like it!!

Alexa, these are perfect choices for your December TBR! I have specifically read Layla (which you've mentioned), and I give it five out of five stars! It's a wonderful romance. If I may, I would like to recommend Nora Roberts, who is a romance author I think you may enjoy immensely, as her writing style may be compared to Colleen Hoover.
