hi everyone!! do you have a kindle? what do you like/dislike about it? ✨ i hope you enjoyed the video & don’t forget to like + subscribe because it really helps me out ♡ i hope you have a wonderful rest of your day! love u always ☁💕
yesss I do What I like: - Waterproof -Adjustable light so I could read at night - Long battery life -You could take it with you every where. What I dislike: - Doesn't feel like a book 😭 -
Yes I have the paper white signature edition with wireless charging 64gb and I love it I like to read both forms ebook and physical copy but I mainly gravitate towards ebooks
Yes and I love love mine! I have the Paperwhite 4 in Sage and it’s the best thing ever. I never leave the house without it and the number of books I read increased ever since I bought my Kindle.
I’m right here with you! I was all “I HATE EBOOKS” and then my mom got me a kindle for Christmas and I’ve already read THREE books on it. It is truly a game changer!! 🤗
I love owning physical books but I can read so much easier and faster on the kindle. What I've been doing and has worked for me is seeing if a book I want to read is available on kindle unlimited before buying a physical copy. If it is, I'll read it "for free" (Not free because of the subscription price but so much cheaper than buying physical copies of every single book!) and if I finish a book and really love it, I'll buy the physical book to have on my shelf. Just an idea!
To make it feel even more like a book you can change the settings in the kindle to make the book cover of the book you’re reading the lock screen of the kindle! Love your videos so much!💜
Owning a Kindle is truly a game changer. It not only gets you to fall in love with books all over again, it adds a splash of "Self Care" to reading. I own the 11th generation and its such an amazing device to read on. Sometimes I would even be reading in nature. The Kindle alone is such pure magic ❤
I can’t believe you didn’t mention the fact that you can get a definition of any word just by touching the word, that is my favorite feature, I used to have to live with my Oxford English Dictionary next to me wherever I was.
The e-reader doesn't strain your eyes like a computer, not only because of the yellow light (which can help) but mostly because the majority of e-readers now a days use E-Ink technology, which is not the same as a regular screen (computer, tablet, etc). When you look at it closely you actually see the differences, is not as shiny as a normal screen 😊
I LOVE my kindle paperwhite 11th gen 16gb the fact that it is so light and portable, doesn’t take up space in my bag nor do I have to worry about my book getting damaged in my bag and I can use light/warm light at night. And using my library card, and kindle unlimited it’s AMAZING! Plus with the built in dictionary, i don’t have to put my book down stop reading to search it on my phone anymore. I just click highlight the word and get my answer lol. I will never go back to physical books.
My wife gave me a kindle last year and I absolutely love it! My eyesight isn’t the best so the fact I can make the font bigger was a game changer! No more large print physical books from the library. Plus it is so easy to use. I’m not much into technology but I can get books downloaded just fine. As for KU that also is a fantastic service! There are so many books, audiobooks, even magazine subscriptions you can add. Completely worth 10 bucks a month. Plus you can always read a physical book to get that tactile sense you like so much and to annotate in it. Borrowing physical books from friends is something Kindle can’t match nearly as easily. Welcome to the Kindle family. We’re glad you’re here. I subscribed to see what the next video will be about.
I love physical books and definitely prefer them over e books. Previously I used to hate reading digital books but when I actually tried it out, it wasn't so bad. It's very convenient.
Recently got a Kindle within the last year and I love it. I have to commute a lot and I read a lot of non-fiction (especially sociology), so Kindle has been an absolute must for me, tbh. My favorite thing about Kindle is that you can change the margins and font size, which helps me focus and read a lot faster than I normally would on a physical book.
Not all the the current Kindle models are waterproof, but the current Kindle Paperwhite is. I got my Kindle just before Christmas and I've read a lot more books since then than I normally would. I really like it.
The other pros I have for mine if you didn’t know is 1. The fact that it tells you how much time you have left in a chapter which allows me to read and finish books faster and 2. You can link your Goodreads account to it and when you highlight your favorite parts you can share those highlights with your Goodreads followers. I do agree with your cons though but again not deal breaker ❤
Hey!! If you didn't know, another pro is that it syncs to your Amazon Kindle app and you keep track of the days you read and you can earn badges!! I find it super motivating to keep my streaks going! 😉❤️
So true nothing beats the feeling of holding a physical book and the turning actual pages. Plus side of the eReader is many books in smaller more portable version, I love using my tablet to read but again physical books hopefully will never die
I got the same kindle for Christmas! I’ve been using the crap out of it! I love my kindle! I’ve downloaded all my books onto it and then some. 😂 I love physical books too but the kindle is so much easier. I’d also prefer to read off my kindle than my phone.
i always loved physical books but ever since getting a kindle it actually changed. i now prefer the kindle i LOVE it so much it's just better in every way. i only buy physical books now if i really liked the book and want it on my shelf.
I ended up getting one last year on prime day and I love it so much! I’m a physical copy kind of girl but I love how portable it is + all the ku books (Dreamland Billionaires series is 10/10)! Loved this video!
This video literally came at the perfect time for me!!! I've been wanting to get e kindle for a couple of weeks now but I've always been a physical book kinda girlie through and through (you know the smell of books and the flipping the pages etc.) But lately I've been thinking about getting a kindle because it seems very convenient for going away on trips and such and also to reduce my spending on books hahaha
@@alexaraye I just finished watching your video like 3 minutes ago and I am convinced. I just purchased a kindle 😂 If there's one youtuber on here that can influence me this quickly its you 😅💌
I love my kindle paperwhite and my stand up charger. Bought my mom the package for her birthday. My favorite is charging it on the charger in the cover! Second favorite is being able to read in the brightest sunlight. Third favorite is when I read at night before bed my kindle brightness adjusts all the way down. Fourth favorite is seeing the cover of the book when I open it, that makes it feel like a real physical book. I even bought the page turner for cold winter nights snuggled in my bed under covers and can just click to turn the page without pulling my arms out from under the covers. Throw it in my purse and it goes with me everywhere. I also downloaded the Libby app and now get pricey books as e books and if my library system doesn't have it I put in a request to purchase it and every book I have requested they have purchased. Love kindle unlimited. My first 21 book series from kindle unlimited was A.J. Rivers, the Emma Griffin series. Cons: I wish I could read 24/7 ! HAPPY READING!
Hey! Alexa I really really obsessed with your daily videos and I love to read books so so much you are my inspiration and I wish you reach 60K Subscribers very very soon!💫💞☺️
I source my books from other places than amazon, so I was happy with my kindle keyboard... but it won't hold a charge (not an issue with the battery but the kindle) so I bought a 7th gen paperwhite for 40 bucks. I absolutely love it. Maybe I'll get an oasis one day cause I read for 5+ hours a day
I absolutely love my Oasis but I'd maybe wait until they announce a new one before purchasing... the battery life is sooooo bad. I read a lot and pretty much have to charge it daily and it's the latest edition. As an example I charged it to full yesterday night, read about 4 hours between then and now ( its 2pm) and it's back down to 50%. I'm hoping they improve battery life on the next version.
If the lighted screen strains your eyes you can turn the light completely off and the screen looks just like a book page… no strain! This is what the first kindles looked like before backlighting was added and doing this also extends the battery life. I only read with back light when I need to because of poor lighting wherever I am.
I, too, prefer physical books over ebooks. Maybe I won't get a kindle but hey, no hate and glad you got one for yourself to enjoy reading!! Lovelots Alexa! 💕💕
I'd still get one if I were you. I love having the option to grab my Kindle when I'm on the go, but read my physical books when I'm at home. It's very convenient, especially if you're going on a long trip.
As a migraine sufferer I read way more with my Kindle! Not having to have the room bright enough to read or a book light is great! I do still read paper books, but I find I am more limited in trying to read with natural lighting which is not sparse in winter. Plus, the cost of a physical book here is approx 20 dollars before tax. Since getting my Kindle in the spring I've read 65 books, I had 3 months of Kindle unlimited free and there is also Prime Reading. I've only bought 3 ebooks and only one was over 10 dollars. I've bought a couple books in hardback that were new releases and the reasoning was that the savings on Kindle wasn't worth not owning the hard copy! Compared to pre-Kindle (even with Kindle app) I was struggling to read a book a month because of eye strain and arthritis in my hands! The warm light really helps and not having the glare!
I thing i dont like about the kindle is i notice is there is alwayys white dots on the screen on the black of the screen edges of the screen.I always wipe it but it always appers its so annoying man.
Omg ahhhhh so exciting!! I've been so on the fence of getting one cos I'm such a paperback girlie 😅 but now I want oneeeeee! Especially with how expensive books are in Australia 😭
Reading on a Kindle is so much nicer than reading on an iPad or phone. The E-Ink display is far superior for displaying text as it's specifically designed to mimic actual ink on paper. It also doesn't emit light directly into your eyes like an LCD, LED, or OLED screen does. The image of the Kindle is lit from the top down instead of behind it (LCD/LED) or from pixels like on a OLED screen. Plus it's not using pixels as mentioned but actual ink cells that are stimulated by an electronic current to form the words and pictures you see on screen. Hence why the slow response times of changing from one image to the next. Aka.. the "electronic ink display". Because it's actually moving ink around in little cells to form an image. Plus unlike tablets and phones, even without a backlight turned on, you can still read a Kindle display in full sunlight.
One more series I would recommend on Kindle Unlimited is The Shadowhunter Series. Not all the books are on Unlimited, but 5 of the 6 Mortal Instruments books and the entire Infernal Devices series is on there (I absolutely loved Infernal Devices!).
if you have pdf or epub files or books, you send them to your kindle by emailing them as an attachemtent. each kindle has a unique email address, just send the file to your kindle email address and the file/book will appear in your kindle library
I used to hate ebooks too. I hated reading on my phone or iPad but then I found an old kindle my dad used to use and started using it. I liked it so much I upgraded to the kindle paperwhite. I take it with me while traveling. I read an entire book in an 8 hour drive and I never had to worry about not being able to read in the dark. Finished the entire last book of Harry Potter on that ride. Also you mentioned eye strain. It being an e-ink screen, eye strain would be significantly less than it being on an iPad or phone or even laptop. Idk if you noticed but the light doesn't shine directly on you, it's actually a frontlit screen so the light is coming from tbe front and not the back unlike other devices. It also helps to remind yourself to blink a bit more since as you read you blink significantly less than normal.
Hey! Alexa, I am really obsessed with your daily videos and I love to read books so much you are my inspiration and I hope you reach 60K subscribers very soon!💫💞
You are gonna be soo addicted with your kindle! I love kindle unlimited so much. I have a basic kindle and i read so much KU thrillers and romance. Edit: Idk if u know this but keeping ur kindle on airplane mode saves battery.
Okay, so as far as I'm aware, eyestrain isn't really a thing on Kindles because it isn't like looking at a screen. It's an E-ink display which is different to say your phone or tablet, which is the pro of using a kindle over your phone or tablet. Eliminates eye strain because it's more like looking at an actual page than a screen. I'd call it their main selling point (over phones or other tablets)
I've been contemplating buying an ereader for a year or more, now I'm just down to being super torn between a Kindle Basic and a Kindle Paperwhite. I think this video has sold me on the Paperwhite, especially actually being able to see it in someone's hands and on. I also have pretty severe eyestrain & headaches from it so e-ink and the lighting are the two biggest selling points to me, with the price of ebooks being 1/3 of paperbacks being another huge perk. I actually had a NOOK color when I was a kid, about 12 years ago now, and it wasn't e-ink. I have no idea how I used to so much without it burning out my eyes, but those days are gone lol.
Hi! So glad I just watched your video to help me make my mind up about purchasing! I’m getting one today 😊 Where did you get that pretty pink case from can you link it please!?
Kindle you can get books from the library in the states only. I am in Canada and you can’t get library books on kindle. But in Canada you can get library books on kobo. One of the reasons I switched to take books from the library.
I stayed up until 1AM to watch your new video! I am always excited every time I see your YT name pops up on my screen! Happy new year alexa and all the love from PH 🇵🇭💕
Hi Alexa, thanks for the very informative and enthusiastic review, helps alot! Just checking if any of the academic related books can be found as well in the 1 million library? Thanks a lot
Hey, great video! I actually have a question: Does KU differ depending on where you are from? I really wondered when I saw your recommendations, because neither the Crave Series, nor Song of Achilles oder The Invisible Life of Addie Larue are available in my KU subscription? :(
I loooove my Kindle but I’m also such a big book collecter too and sometimes I want to buy the book just so I have it in my collection, even though I’ve read in on my kindle before. 😄
I’ve been binge watching Kindle recc videos and ended up getting one for Christmas as well! So excited to see you post one! I definitely can relate to how obsessed you became when having one and how convenient it is! I also wanted to know where your kindle case is from? Thank you and I love love your videos! 😊
Wow I’m loving all those books you recommended for KU 😮 I didn’t know they had ALL these amazing series’ I trialed it for a month I think but there were heaps of great books.
I also got a paperwhite kindle for Christmas as my old one was about nine years old. I see you said you can connect your library card to it. Can someone explain how I do that?
Hi Alexa ❤ Thank you for all your amazing videos, I love all your book recommendations and recently got a kindle myself which I am obsessed with!! Can you send me the link to your cover please? I can’t seem to find one I like and I love the look of yours. Thanks 🥰
thank you so much lovey!! here is the link to my storefront: www.amazon.com/shop/alexaraye?ref_=cm_sw_r_cp_ud_aipsfshop_aipsfalexaraye_AVTWNQ341QF5CSPSSW6Y the case is linked under electronics 🫶🏻
not sure if theres any Canadians here watching, to decide between a Kobo or a Kindle, just to let you all know that Libby/Overdrive is not availabe in Canada on Kindle, you can only access it on Kobo
While I do enjoy a floppy paperback, I actually prefer reading my Kindle... Especially the one you just got... It is by far the most SATISFYING Kindle I've owned... I also love that I can access books I'm reading on my iPhone with the Kindle app... So while I'm eating or waiting for a haircut, I can read and I love how the app has continuous scrolling and as long as you were reading the Kindle connected to wifi, the app will tell you that you can skip to the last page read on your Kindle 👍🏽👍🏽 Oh! and I love how you can have the screensaver be the current book you are reading! (if you pay to have ads removed... well worth the money for that feature)
@@alexaraye did you get it at a nail salon?? I’ve been doing my nails gel for years and have been searching for a color just like that one with no luck!
Hi alexa. I’ve been thinking of getting myself a kindle. But have a questions. Can you like “annotate” highlight favorite parts and if you can. What happens to those annotations when you return the book?
I converted to eReaders in 2012 because my eyes function poorly 😅 I have 20/20 vision but my eyes do not like reading. I need bigger print. Migraines, double vision. The works. I've been a bit of an audiophile with audio books for the last 5 or so years because I didn't have an eReader anymore. I just got a kindle off a friend and l think I'm going to fall in love with reading again. My entire family spends their days off reading, and I'm joining them!
I love physical books until its super chunky and heavy so Kindle is so perfect for huge and heavy books - no more fear! :') I've read on iPad mini and kindle both but only the iPad hurts my eyes after several hours!
Well, about the black and white "problem"... I have a Pocketbook inkpad color and it has a color filter over the eink screen so you have color covers/pictures and crystal clear text still.
i love my kindle! best part about it is being able to eat and read at the same time, don't have to worry about getting pizza grease on my book since i can just turn the page with one knuckle lol
I think they vary in price depending on which one you get! Mine was a gift so I don’t actually know how much they are but I believe they start at around $100?

BRO SAME. I WAS LIKE “nuh uh, i hate ebooks, ill read physical books mostly,” but really, the Kindle is phenomenal!
Me too. But mine is Google Book.
I had the same thought but now I’m a convert definite a Kindle girlie now 😂
I love owning physical books but I can read so much easier and faster on the kindle. I love that idea!!
I take photos of books at the bookstore so I can see if I can find them on audible, but now I'll be looking for kindle too!
Yeah this is my idea too, haven’t quite executed it but I WILL be 😅 in saying that I’m not buying the same books on the Kindle and paperbacks.
This is actually a really good idea, thank you for suggesting it!
To make it feel even more like a book you can change the settings in the kindle to make the book cover of the book you’re reading the lock screen of the kindle! Love your videos so much!💜

You’re making me want a kindle now! 😅 but also your nail polish is gorgeous, do you know what color you used? I love!!!
Omg!! Thank you so much!! I don’t know the name unfortunately 😭
I just ordered the Kindle paper white yesterday from Amazon. Can’t wait for it to arrive
Thank you so much!!
You are gonna be soo addicted with your kindle! I love kindle unlimited so much. I have a basic kindle and i read so much KU thrillers and romance.
Edit:
Idk if u know this but keeping ur kindle on airplane mode saves battery.
Yes!! I really am! There are sooo many books available on it!
I am not super big into fantasy HOWEVER the crave series is…… chefs kiss
Ooooo I’m intrigued
Love this video and was waiting for so long for you to upload this video.
Yay!!! I’m so glad I was able to get it up for you 🫶🏻
I’ve heard that like scrolling the page it lags or takes forever? Does that actually happen?
I think it lags but very slightly
love you video! But how do you read a library book on your kindle?
Okay, so as far as I'm aware, eyestrain isn't really a thing on Kindles because it isn't like looking at a screen. It's an E-ink display which is different to say your phone or tablet, which is the pro of using a kindle over your phone or tablet. Eliminates eye strain because it's more like looking at an actual page than a screen. I'd call it their main selling point (over phones or other tablets)
Waiting for my Kindle in the mail. I'm trying out some of these, thanks!!
What I do is I read til the 5th chapter and if I want to go read further I buy the physical book. Voila I have my book, need my physical book!
Love it!
Omg thank you for posting this!! Been thinking about getting a kindle for the past few weeks 😅
Yes!! It’s definitely worth it
I got my first Kindle just last week and then purchased kindle unlimited as well! I am beyond happy! I got the Kindle Paper white 2022, 32GB

@@alexaraye thank you!
Just when I was asking for kindle recs, you post! 😊😊😊😊
Yay!! 🥹💖💖
This is your first video I watched! Subscribed 😊
heyyyyyyyyyy I LOVE YOUR VIDEOS I JUST GOT ARCHERS VOICE BC OF YOU
Omg hi lovey!!! Thank you so much!! 🫶🏻 I hope you enjoy Archer’s Voice as much as I did 🥰
I bought a nook glow light in pearl pink and I love it!!
You can also get a paper like screen protector for you iPhone and turn display settings to grayscale for the same effect on the kindle app
Do we need to pay more for the books when we buy a kindle?
Hi! So glad I just watched your video to help me make my mind up about purchasing! I’m getting one today 😊 Where did you get that pretty pink case from can you link it please!?
I got it from Amazon! It’s linked in my amazon storefront!
Kindle you can get books from the library in the states only. I am in Canada and you can’t get library books on kindle. But in Canada you can get library books on kobo. One of the reasons I switched to take books from the library.
Thank you for this! I thought it differed depending on country but wasn’t sure!
I stayed up until 1AM to watch your new video! I am always excited every time I see your YT name pops up on my screen! Happy new year alexa and all the love from PH 🇵🇭💕
Omg!! I’m so glad you’re here lovey 🥹🫶🏻 Happy new year!!! 🎊
ALEXAAAAA, YOU MAKE MY DAY BY POSTINGGGG, I LITERALLY LOVE YOU SO MUCH ♥️.
I’m so glad you’re here 🥹💖💖
I've been saving to get a kindle for a while now. Definitely going to get it soon 😅
It’s so worth it!!
Your videos are my happy place ❤
That is so kind 🥹🫶🏻
Hi Alexa, thanks for the very informative and enthusiastic review, helps alot!
Just checking if any of the academic related books can be found as well in the 1 million library? Thanks a lot
Hey, great video! I actually have a question: Does KU differ depending on where you are from? I really wondered when I saw your recommendations, because neither the Crave Series, nor Song of Achilles oder The Invisible Life of Addie Larue are available in my KU subscription? :(
Yes different areas have different books I'm in UK and these books aren't available on KU 🥺
Yes, I’ve just discovered that it does depend on where you live 🥺🙁🙁🙁
I loooove my Kindle but I’m also such a big book collecter too and sometimes I want to buy the book just so I have it in my collection, even though I’ve read in on my kindle before. 😄
I feel this 😂 I want to buy physical copies of Sophie Lark’s books because they are so pretty 🥲
I’ve been binge watching Kindle recc videos and ended up getting one for Christmas as well! So excited to see you post one! I definitely can relate to how obsessed you became when having one and how convenient it is!
I also wanted to know where your kindle case is from? Thank you and I love love your videos! 😊
Yes!! I agree 😂 I got my kindle case off of Amazon!
@@alexaraye Thank you! ✨
I just finished reminders of him, love her books . I’m gonna read the other ones
Omgg I love your recommendation so so much!!...I can't but just say you are an artist in your performing!!🌟. your my superstar! 🤩🔥
Ps: love you!!
That makes me so happy!!! Thank you lovey, I’m so glad you’re here 🫶🏻
Wow I’m loving all those books you recommended for KU 😮 I didn’t know they had ALL these amazing series’ I trialed it for a month I think but there were heaps of great books.
I also got a paperwhite kindle for Christmas as my old one was about nine years old.
I see you said you can connect your library card to it. Can someone explain how I do that?
Hi Alexa ❤
Thank you for all your amazing videos, I love all your book recommendations and recently got a kindle myself which I am obsessed with!!
Can you send me the link to your cover please? I can’t seem to find one I like and I love the look of yours. Thanks 🥰

not sure if theres any Canadians here watching, to decide between a Kobo or a Kindle, just to let you all know that Libby/Overdrive is not availabe in Canada on Kindle, you can only access it on Kobo
Yes! I love that so much 🥰 so convenient for everyday life!
Yess!! pls read "Anastasia" it is enemies to friends to lovers trope! and I know it's a different thing but also so exciting!! 😊❤
I’m so excited!! Yes! I have high hopes for that book
can you make a video of how you get the books on kindle? I want to get a kindle but I would like to know everything before I get one
What color nail polish are you wearing??? Is it gel???
It is gel! But I don’t know the color 🤧
Yes! You can annotate the book! When you do this, I believe they are put into a deprecate folder in you library so that you can view it whenever!
I love your vids, kindles are my fav some times lol ❤
Thank you sm!! & same 😂🫶🏻
@@alexaraye you’re welcome 😊
I love my kindle. Can you please share a link for the cute cover you purchased?

I just found out on my kindle it had Goodreads! I don't know if we have the same version because mines a year old but I hope it has it!
so happy you finally have a kindle we are matching like the same kindle and the same cover 😂
I love it!
I have a Pocketbook inkpad color and it has a color filter over the eink screen so you have color covers/pictures and crystal clear text still.
where did you get your out of office sweatshirt?🥺
Target!
I have a kindle and I adore it so much, but sometimes it is nice to have a physical book in my hands!
I agree 🥰
i love my kindle! best part about it is being able to eat and read at the same time, don't have to worry about getting pizza grease on my book since i can just turn the page with one knuckle lol
😂😂😂
The perfect marriage was AMAZING !
I can’t wait to read it!
I wanna buy this one like yours how much it is for 🥺?
I think they vary in price depending on which one you get! Mine was a gift so I don’t actually know how much they are but I believe they start at around $100?
@@alexaraye I'll buy it ❤️
