Hey gamers, put your monster suggestions in here so they're all in one place. That way it's easier to see which ones are popular choices! Make sure to like someone else's comment if they already suggested your pick
Given that first-gen monsters are our theme thus far, may I suggest Basarios? He's just kinda... a pile of rocks sometimes garnished with moss in the shape of a wyvern. Maybe linking him more to Gravios in a sort of indirect way ala how Gore and Shagaru function? Fight-wise he's okay, but taking Agnaktor's gimmick and slapping it on other monsters isn't exactly a novel concept, though I'd say between Basarios and Lavisioth, Basarios definitely does it better.
What about plesioth? I do like it’s design but also it’s kinda just a fish with legs and wing-fins, maybe changing it so instead of it liking to attack from the water with little way of getting it back to land, make it so when in the water it likes to jump to land for ambushes from the water, also maybe making the fact that it can induce sleep more clear or giving it more of a focus
0:35 I got that reference. For you non monster hunter players out, their diabos are said to have terrible eyesight. If you're wondering why it's because they spend most of their time below ground and they those giant horns over their eyes.
I love that you've done something that I've been a little bothered that most sand and mud monsters don't. The realization that there are more colours than just brown. I remember reading a passage in a book called Wings of Fire about how the mud dragons aren't just brown, they've got reds, and oranges, and little gold flecks in their scales. Hell, just having more than one colour of brown makes designs so much more interesting

Like the flocks of Legiana from Iceborn, it sounds fun.
Love the video just wanted to clear something up officially according to Capcom Piscine Wyverns are closer to fish than other Wyverns they evolved from the extinct Garutoto and are in their own Taxonomic order being Piscine Wyvern while all other Wyverns are in the order Saurischia
@@T.H.C_OFFICIAL there seem to be several conflicting official sources on this then, which I guess is probably down to MH not really having much of a canon
I second this. Based on Oceaniz and MH wikis phylogenetic tree the Piscine Wyverns are as of Rise their own Order of "Piscine Wyvern". As the book "モンスターハンターライズ 公式設定資料集 百竜災禍秘録 / Monster Hunter Rise: Setting Materials" has finally updated and merged the many old evolution trees. All the large Piscine Monster are in the Suborder of "Fish Feet Wyvern". Meanwhile the Order "Saurischia" includes: Flying Wyverns, Bird Wyverns, Brute Wyverns and Fanged Wyverns. The name Wyvern just stuck for the Piscine like it does in science a lot of times. Funny enough some of the catchable fish like the Arowana are now also classified in the Order "Piscine Wyvern".

I like the scene idea for the different versions at the end! Also, maybe for displaying the final renders and sketches of what they do you can present it similar to a hunter's journal/bestiary. @@indomleon Sounds perfect! I never actually found that temple online but I think if you do a similar approach it'd look more interesting, and you can add some ecology notes like how you do your normal description on it as well
I got Para-d by Cephadrome A LOT. In Freedom Unite it has an attack where he ~clunkily~ glides in the air, and if you're below it you get paralyzed. Very similar to what you described on your first redesign, although I haven't seen that behavior in GU.
8:50 What? Thats not a misconception, that's been stated directly by the devs. You're gonna have to give me a hard source to convince me here. Edit: Went and found the source for where the MH wiki makes the same claim. The phylogenic tree shows Piscine Wyverns as their own Order, completely disconnected from all other Wyverns which are shared under the Order of Saurischia. The phylogenic tree doesn't go any higher than Order, meaning there is 0 confirmed evidence for Piscince Wyverns being related to the other Wyverns. And if they were, it'd have to be on the Phylum or Kingdom levels, meaning the extent of their genetic relation to the other Wyverns would essentially be "they are both animals." There is also nothing that contradicts the original artbook from which the original fish lineage claim comes from. This "correction" seems to, in fact, be the misconception.
@@BaronSterling every time i research it, the answer seems to change. What I have gotten most recently is that they split from the wyvern tree very early on, and are secondarily aquatic
These videos just keep getting better! I always have felt that the piscines were a bit of an untapped well of potential atm; so many cool fish to take inspiration from and yet so little variety in the ones Capcom has made so far.
I love the personalized backdrop for the monster art (: I think you did a great job on the desert and want you to continue trying a personalized backdrop for future monsters
I love the sail fish version so much! It would be cool to see a similar design but in a flounder wing style. Moder sail boats actually have big long keels that work with the sail to produce lift. That would be such a great inspiration for a wyvern.
a little tip to future backgrounds is to make more detail around the monster so it doesn't feel out of place of its environement and go simplifying the background the less proximity has to it. By the way, congrats for this video, I really loved the concepts around them and I feel like they integrate more in the ecology of their biome. Keep it up dude!
"You can break their head but it almost never happened...." (Laugh in greatsword supremancy😂) Anyway, i feel like rajang would be my most anticipated monster to mend. His design simply doesn't make any sense, skinny leg yet he jump and kick, he somehow become a pinball to attack, and for whatever odd reason he can shot a lightning beam. I really don't like how he just reduced to become a dragon ball reference.
Picine wyverns have so much potential that just isn't being reached as a class so I'm happy to see you helping them reach thier full potential, that last design was especially good
OH HO HO, Finding this account while theres only three videos?? excellent! Amazing video, great designs, great concept, great everything!! So excited to see more!
At first, I was annoyed how long they took. Meanwhile. The quality is above and beyond what I had expected. Man. Take your time. These are great. You'll blow up like this.
I really like these redesigns. Picine wyverns before rise really suffer from a condition I like to call "2(or 3) zones, 4 attacks". In which they are restricted to only a couple of zones on the map they appear on, and only have like 4 unique attacks.
Back in the MH1 days, i really enjoyed Cephadrome. The Desert map was introduced to you a few quests ago along with Cephalos, but there aren't any large threats in that map until you receive the quest with this guy. Then, all of a sudden, the large, wide-open sandy areas has this MASSIVE, dark-colored variant of an enemy you were previously familiar with, accompanied with eerie as hell music. It was a hell of a vibe, i tell ya. Today, however, he really doesn't stand out much. He once was the largest monster youve fought up to that point, and the only large monster in the desert area for a good while,, and now hes early-mid game fodder with a mediocre moveset. (Though.... He's always had a plain movset to be fair.) I think the context surrounding the monster helps a lot, because my early days of experiencing how he was handled in MH1 has led me to have a pretty big soft spot for the guy
The paralysis is something ive encountered more with the smaller cephalos. I honestly thought it was their bite that was supposed to be venomous rather than their wings though.
I've had it happen to me as well, both from the Cephalos, and the Cephadrome. In the case of the later it's only happened when it manages to slice me with its back fin while it was swimming through the sand.
this might be the best batch yet. all of the designs have distinct roles. I think you could honestly get away with a desert environment that had two or even all three of these monsters.
I love this, it started off weak because its, well, cephadrome, just made the already not great conceptually monster more feasible and in line with the current series, but designs 2 and 3 were so amazing. If these were a piscine wyvern in game I may actually be excited to fight them!
Loving these designs, Indo! I should really up my A-game when designing FanonMH Monsters, ahaha. Nevertheless, I *love* this video - and this series, too! Keep it up my g. ~ Sap
Love all these! Although I can't imagine trying to improve upon the PERFECTION that is Cephadrome I mean, their fight is just so perfect, even attempting to think about changing it would be sacrilege. No, I am not being held hostage by a gang of cephalos in the 1st gen piscine liver quest. Thats ridiculous.
I know this probably wasn't intended, but I love how the third Cephadrome drawing's head kinda looks like the head of the "Ancestor Piscine Species" from some of the Official Artworks have. ties it back to that guy and I hope something similar in design the third Piscine appears in wilds, although unlikely.
The paralysis attack was more common in the early games because Cephadrome would spend much more time away from you. It's the long range jump/glide attack that paralyses you (Cephalos can do that too). Since it's much more aggressive in 4th gen it doesn't get to use that attack often.
@@ivohunter24 that's a good point, actually, with Wilds taking place in what seems to be MH Australia they've got a menagerie of freaks there so far. Might have to think about doing that on purpose
Oh yeah, btw I always found it funny how piscine wyverns are technically related to other wyverns cuz that means that not only is magnamalo, gigginox, duramboros, and plesioth related, they’re all dinosaurs since wyverns descend from saurischians
Ok my personal opinion I’d see them living in environments like this First one:Sandy plains areas similar to where hunters hunt monsters in rocky areas but it would be able to just avoid crashing into rocks thanks to its senses and it’s legs Second one:More costal desserts where there’s more variety to snack on and might be a potential rival towards Nibblesnarf Third one:Muddy and open deserts similar to its muddy cousin Jyratodus and might even be a rival towards them and would kick them out of their muddy protection and leave them alone and vulnerable to predators
It’d be neat, to see Frontier get eventually covered with the mention of Anorupatisu in redesign 2. Unfortunately that’s a whole different can of worms that probably won’t be opened
First vid were i thought one of the redesigns is better than the actual in-game Version. Also i think you should use the biome Backgrounds at the end If they don't result in to much work.
I love both the second and third takes on Cephadrome. The third especially for the added world building and a mouth that really reminds me of Giasmagorm. Curious why Magnamalo was shown under “monsters I hate.” What weapon to you primarily use? The ones I use and/or my play style makes the fight fun. Plus I am a sucker for monsters with amazing theme music.
@@Manectrix2000 I'm a pretty hard Hammer main, though outside of Rise (because Rise has a crashing issue for me rn lol) I have been making sure to branch out a bit. I really hate Magnamalo mostly because I love the IDEAS it has, but none of them are implemented in a way I find satisfying
@@indomleon It’s funny, I have only played Hammer thanks to GU. My World and Rise main LS just didn’t feel fluid/too different. Ended up loving Hammer and use it occasionally in Rise. For my other game playthroughs, I actually used other weapons. Switch Axe for 3U and Insect Glaive for 4U.
New episode Dropped. As someone who loves Monster Hunter and Art, this is a win. Also, that intro feels familiar. Is it something Fnaf-related by chance? If not i just sound like a fool lmfao/
I love the first design as much as I would hate to fight him. Bring this one alongside with Plesioth to create de "Fish Scale" Dual Blades with paralysis ans sleep. Its also funny how he would do his paralysis flight much more in the older games when we couldn't do shit about it.
I'd like to see your take on Magnamalo Also, gou should totally collaborate with UHC (Unnatural History Channel) as he has a lot of zoological knowledge and is a huge MH fan
One thing to note is piscine wyverns are not literally fish, but they are also not related to wyverns(in other worlds they are considered part of their own order). This is proven both by the creators who showed off concepts of the ancestors of the various monster families were the ancestor of the piscines was a massive eal like creature, and the hunter encyclopedia books(the main literature that references this, Mostly reprints). Similar to how todays crocodiles and sharks are not actually the first creatures to use their body shapes and infact covergently evolved their shapes due to the forms being most effective.( ancient amphibans used the crocodilian form first "Prionosuchus", And a different family of fish first used the shark body plan "Acanthodians"). Piscine wyvern are lungfish like animals that covergently evolved the wyvern body plan. In the monster hunter world like sharks and crocodiles, the wyvern body plan is considered the one of most effective body plan. In the modern-day, a good example is true and false crabs having the same body plan but not being closely related( false crabs are more related to shrimp and lobsters then true crabs). and thats everything. Useless nerd information that maybe or maybe not taught you something new.
I have to google how the piscines work every time I think about this and every single time I swear I get a different answer so I don't know what to think anymore
@indomleon this is more than understandable. The devs themselves dont seem to know what to do with the piscines. Their origin and nature have been retconed at least twice, and the class has seen accentually no innovation, jyuratodus being basically just a lavisioth subspecies with a different name. Also, thanks for reading. I'm kind of shocked you had the patience, interest, and time to read my word jumble. Do keep in mind that like you, this is just what I could find through my own research, and by the time wilds come outs, it could be completely wrong. Half of what we know of monsterhunter could be mistranslations from japanese to english, as has happened before.

I kinda forgot about that guy but I will pretend that I am a genius and did it on purpose
The paralysis attack was more common in the early games because Cephadrome would spend much more time away from you. It's the long range jump/glide attack that paralyses you (Cephalos can do that too). Since it's much more aggressive in 4th gen it doesn't get to use that attack often.
love how much the #3 attempts always look like Wilds designs!!!
@@ivohunter24 that's a good point, actually, with Wilds taking place in what seems to be MH Australia they've got a menagerie of freaks there so far. Might have to think about doing that on purpose
The animation! what the heck! amazing!
I love this series! I suggest one of the fanged beasts like Congalala or Blangonga, Or maybe Bulldrome since its literally just a boar lol.
I definitely relate to that hunter at the beginning, Diablos terrified me back when I was a newbie.
was not expecting piemations' fnaf 2 animation as the intro
This channel rules. This thing is going places, just keep at it. I'm doing my thing for the algo too. :)
thanks for the vid. thats a good intro animation too
Sir, how did TH-cam didn't recommend me this earlier? This is great content
Oh yeah, btw I always found it funny how piscine wyverns are technically related to other wyverns cuz that means that not only is magnamalo, gigginox, duramboros, and plesioth related, they’re all dinosaurs since wyverns descend from saurischians
peak video
It's really crazy how many good piscine wyverns concepts the community makes. It's a crime that capcom just copy paste all of theirs.
Ok my personal opinion I’d see them living in environments like this
First one:Sandy plains areas similar to where hunters hunt monsters in rocky areas but it would be able to just avoid crashing into rocks thanks to its senses and it’s legs
Second one:More costal desserts where there’s more variety to snack on and might be a potential rival towards Nibblesnarf
Third one:Muddy and open deserts similar to its muddy cousin Jyratodus and might even be a rival towards them and would kick them out of their muddy protection and leave them alone and vulnerable to predators
simply INCREDIBLE
#3 is definitely the Piscine Wyvern ever
It’d be neat, to see Frontier get eventually covered with the mention of Anorupatisu in redesign 2.
Unfortunately that’s a whole different can of worms that probably won’t be opened
@@dynogamer1377 I would be interested in having a look, but it would probably have to be after I finish a big chunk of mainline
First vid were i thought one of the redesigns is better than the actual
in-game Version.
Gotta give him music points though, can't knock that
@@indomleon It’s funny, I have only played Hammer thanks to GU. My World and Rise main LS just didn’t feel fluid/too different. Ended up loving Hammer and use it occasionally in Rise.
For my other game playthroughs, I actually used other weapons. Switch Axe for 3U and Insect Glaive for 4U.
nice reference to piemations
Whoops i forgot to credit him in the desc, thanks for reminding me
We have reached peak
im not sure but when i hera scaring him it rmeind me of that funny fnaf 2 vid
@@samanthabronder9861 that's cuz that's what it is
I love the reference to piemations fnaf 2 video.
Tetsucabra is one of my all time favorites, I'd love to see your take on them.
New episode Dropped. As someone who loves Monster Hunter and Art, this is a win.
Also, that intro feels familiar. Is it something Fnaf-related by chance? If not i just sound like a fool lmfao/
@@Dragiot check the description :)
@@indomleon Knew it, A good reference from my childhood. Good pick man
The 3rd design makes it into a Delexdrome
I love the first design as much as I would hate to fight him. Bring this one alongside with Plesioth to create de "Fish Scale" Dual Blades with paralysis ans sleep. Its also funny how he would do his paralysis flight much more in the older games when we couldn't do shit about it.
Lol love the piemations reference
You could split the difference and make an action comic intro for the monsters. Like what Zenless Zone Zero does for some of it's cutscenes.
I have never heard of this before but I will look into it
It could have a mechanic similar to nibelsnarf where the hunter can place a barrel bomb in its path
Weirdly enough I actually made a subspecies of Cephadrome that can glide like the first redesign.
10:15 Why did I have the exact same idea that you did? “Ah it must be a fireproof gel to emphasize its heatproof nature in the game!”
14:38 Mmm Nibelsnarf+!
I'd like to see your take on Magnamalo
Also, gou should totally collaborate with UHC (Unnatural History Channel) as he has a lot of zoological knowledge and is a huge MH fan
@@tigris115 I hope to one day, he's my favorite MH person
I've had plenty of the cephadrome psycho crusher paralysis, it's happened to me.
10:15 Was that a ZeFrank reference? >:]
@@JurassicJohn216 sure was!
Very good
