the resist icons on the life bar is a feature i believe came out in archnemesis. glad to see more improvements next league. thanks for the updates
Yeah come to think of it I think they are there on rares
They are there now, but I suspect most people don’t even see them because you need to be looking at your character’s feet and the icons are so out of the way.
The armor one is the only one that appears new.
Resistance icons on life bars was a change done to squish amount of text since it used to mention "resistant to fire/cold/lightning" along with monster mods. It was made during Sanctum League 3.20
Funny little fact about the icons: They also show up on players when you hover them with your mouse!
This makes it so you can see wether or not people are res capped - both chaos and elemental (icon will be red when res is in the negative)
Funny to check in Rouge Harbor to see who are running solid builds and who are running a risky business 😂
Tbf most people run auras, unique effects like TWWTs and flasks to cap their res. So most of the time people are res capped outside of towns. My char for example is in the deep reds in town while capped in hideout.
@@izaruburs9389 that's a good point, guess it's still applicable in hideout lmfao
I like the idea of a current league mechanic having passive nodes to let you specialize, but I really do think it should be done more like how they did with Sentinel by having it be a separate tree/mechanic instead of competing with the rest of the atlas tree.
Having it separate would also make it easier for them to make sure that you are actually forced to make choices instead of taking all of the nodes, since they would have more leeway in balancing the number of nodes and passive points compared to the atlas tree that already have a certain number of points that always are going to be more than it requires in taking all of the nodes for any one mechanic.
Absolutely agree. You could give points in a separate tree by doing map completion, random objectivs, or new things GGG could come up with.
GGG could test nodes that, if the content end up going core, could be in the main atlas tree somewhere.
A passive skill tree is fine for new material... just don't put it on the tree itself!!!
You know like how that wildwood ascendancy gave us totally separate points? There you go, 8 passive skill points for the league... play the new league content how you want.. and don't have to run all over the damned normal board to have it available.
The best versions of this were during scourge and sentinel leagues. A seperate tree to play around with that enhanced the way you interacted with the league mechanic.
those small icons have existed for awhile, i believe they mean resistances, as they pop up when mobs have for example fire resistance mods.
Yeah, they have been in the game for a the past few leagues.
Werent these icons under the boss bar already in the game before? Only not on bosses but on certain rare enemies maybe nemesis kind of thing? I might be wrong but i think ive seen these icons already somewhere.
Oh yeah, I think they may be there on rares
Those icons under health bars have been in the game for sooo long now
The league mechanic NEEDS to be on the tree. i've been wanting it for years but ofc they f it up horribly and then remove it forever.
it should be it's own little tree like we had in 3.13
putting it on the tree causes some problems, because you either full invest on it or not at all, unless it is a whole separate system from the atlas tree
@@darwinjackson3560 It needs to be like sentinel, seperate and unlockable
Well this is a first time I get here this early haha. Got my drink
Cheers for the info Mr Sirgog
Thank you Eleventh Hour Games
I think it's good that there is league mechanic on Passive skill tree, however it should be transformative (for example like Stasis node for Legion) instead of it's better.
I would really love a video on efficiently acquiring all four voidstones, especially if any interesting strategies come out of the race.
wooow . didn't expect that lvl of sass at the end . my man - bravo 👏
Just a quick correction: Jungs 4 Stone Race is indeed in Necropolis HC SSF and not Standard as he wants to see how people make use of the mechanic in a format like this.
In the options you can hide 90% of your own buff/flask icons so id assume we can also adjust the size of the life bar for bosses
I agree that current league mechanics should not be modified by the atlas. It in and of itself is a huge selling point for each content cycle and should be at full "power" at launch. A small amount of agency might be something to consider in the future for both games, but it should never be a gate to get the most out of the current patch.
Maybe it's just me but there were already icons for resistances in the HP bar of rates
I don't understand why they don't make clear in the boss life bar when the boss becomes invulnerable. Adding a shield or a visual hint would help a lot understanding the fight phases and aid new players.
Top 300-400 players you say? (Inhales large dose of fresh Copium) Sure I'll login, why not.
Got that turtle hideout as soon as it came out, best MTX i ever bought
that Jacket swapp wizardry @ 1:57 and @ 3:40 mark had me feeling like I was going crazy. "wasn't he just wearing blue? wasn't he in red......"
you must be new to sirgog videos. Sirgog often does cuts with different jackets on. its quite humorous and has become his signature style for a long time now.
Taking scarab nodes on atlas also feels mandatory. The whole scarab change is way too tedious , there's too many of them, it's a chore pick them up as it feels bad not to. Are they really better than compasses... at least there we had single tradable currency in sextants and then rolled compasses. Rolled compasses are basically scarabs now but you collect tons of junk ones.
love you gogsir
Boss health bars look beatiful.
The reason they dont put league mechanic nodes on atlas passive tree is because it's a off map mechanic, which easily explained devs dont want to adjust atlas tree affecting off map mechanic, if they do so, they can also do that to affect heist run and blight maps as well, but they didn't.
Another guess of mine, is that Settlers of Kalguur are remake or fusion of Heist and Expedition, which mean both their nodes on atlas passive tree already exist, what we need to do is run both mechanic and gain progression for this new league mechanic, most probably off map stuffs, then we put that thing on map device and "brrrrrr and loot, done, meh, go next", chasing something something beeg beside mapping.
The ideal form is run like Harvest(one button) and loot like Forbidden Sanctum(pillars of reward) XD
I thought the swirly icon second from the right is stun resistance/immunity.
I am almost sure, that with the new icon they will let you decrease physical defenses bellow 0 allowing to scale phys builds further.
i think the experiment was cool however we also had many changes to the atlas tree, scarabs, embers necropolis was really ambitious patch that just didn't hit for everyone
They need to fix the Atlas tree to not be the passives the way it is, honestly the simplest fix would be that we should be able to start pathing from any of the “gate” nodes when you reach unlock any gate nodes with only having one gate node allocated. It is so silly that I can’t just combine different mechanics from the “right” or “left” side of the tree without sacrificing 15 points or whatever
No more point taxation! :)
For fear of bringing D4 into this, a 'tree' like D4's skill tree would be a good visualization. You could have a Base node at each branch/level, where you choose a mechanic, and then choose to either spend points on the sub nodes for that, or choose the next mechanic you get. Etc. Etc.
The balance that currently exists re: distance from the start could be maintained by putting those nodes deeper in the sub skill tree.
I wonder what happens to the excess buff icons at the top left. Hopefully, the new UI at least retains the previous information during a boss fight.
Yeah if they just overflow behind it'll be an issue
League atlas supports does feel like a mandatory pick up making us have less points to use. 😮
Atlas tree in Necropolis was bad, cos the league mechanic support was in all 4 corners requiring to have this weird build that takes those + all the scarab nodes + not much else cos you're short on points now.
I kind of want to watch some with occultist leveling is there any of those players
The problem with a skill tree is that it should matter which nodes you take. As such, some nodes will always be better than others. If you're trying to optimize your atlas skill tree for maximum profit, there will thus always be "mandatory" nodes to take, ie those that result in the best and most drops. But you don't have to maximize for profit. You can maximize for fun and still be profitable. Just take the nodes that make the game more fun to you.
will be interesting to see if they will do more scarab changes. I kinda wish they would remove some of the lesser/useless ones, like the "this map contains Alva" type.
2:14 OH I THINK IT IS !!!!
I think something about Necropolis broke me. Nothing they are putting out is drawing me back to POE. There have been leagues that I haven’t liked but always came back. Something feels different this time. Hope everyone has a great league and enjoys the hype train along the way. Will be my first league I have skipped all together since I started playing during Talisman.
Take a break if you need one. I just hope it's not the third extreme magic find league in a row.
this week 1 versus week 2 average player power difference continues to reek havoc upon the balance of the league, time and time again. the nodes on the atlas tree were another attempt to adjust that but it's definitely not a good implementation. they do need something and i hope they keep trying. a rework of the Sentinel power-board seems most appropriate to me.
Like Sentinel or Heist so that people max it out around level 92, or like Scourge so it's maxxed out around level 99-100, or like Delve where it never maxxes out?
I don't have the answers here.
Thank god... I always wondered why boss life bars were a joke in PoE. If your mouse wasn't directly over the boss, no life bar... I thought it was so strange! haha
To be fair, it meant little if you instaphased bosses
@@daedalus6433 Yeah that's beside the point though. You shouldn't always instaphase bosses the entire lifetime of yoru character, and this is a great QOL update imo.
@@Donniecaison Yeah, not denying that, but the small HP bar was enough for me and I always made sure to do enough dmg that looking at the health bar wasn't a concern
You guys are crazy , i need 10h just for the campaign ...
Hi I'm sirgog, Director on sirgog
i think league support on the atlas wouldve been much better if it was somewhere nearer to the middle. that way you had access regardless what other stuff you wanted
Yeah. Ideally, they would reshape the Atlas Passive tree to have a hollow center, like the current character passive tree, and then fill that center in with the nodes for the current League mechanic.
I just realised I won't be able to see my 50 self buffs against bosses because of the new life bar feature 💀
gg
I hope for xbox, they make the health/energy shield UI better. When playing chaos, you can't even see the health it is so bad.
🍺
Doesnt the fact that there are no atlas passives being implemented for the league mechanic imply that the league mechanic is almost certainly an out-of-map mechanic? The atlas passives only work for maps.
Might be, but in 3.24 they mentioned that putting it on a tree is an experiment
If it was out-of-map it would imply it can’t have atlas passives, but not having atlas passives doesn’t guarantee it’s out-of-map, since necropolis was the only one to have passives in its own league so far.
Kind of amazing they took this long to get proper boss life bars in there
Damn, 10-15 hours to kill all bosses. It takes me 10 hours to kill Kitava, on softcore trade league...
That's Jung's skill level, 4/4 voidstones takes most people a lot longer.
They did say that the 3.25 mechanic will not be on the Atlas tree but they did not actually say that the Necropolis ones are coming down either
I think the icons under the healthbar are ailments actually, shock, ignite, chill,..
Man, I haven't noticed the icons. Thanks for pointing them out! Also glad to hear this mechanic won't be on the tree.
I hope the next league is good, this game feels dead.
Don't care about anything but the unalived totem on the ground. That has me feeling some kinda way... .
Kinda funny how they are drip feeding decade old features as if its some revolutionary thing and people are just eating it up 😂
I see no indication that they think this is revolutionary. It’s a 20 second clip three weeks before the league, not some major announcement.
