The XT 60 connector is a common electrical connector used on RC cars, drones, and airplanes. The 60 means it is rated for 60 amps.
Thaks for the video. I just bought a new Wired Freedom Ebike and I think it uses the same electrical connector that you just changed. Supposedly the Wired Freedom and the battery are UL certified, we will see how it works out. The first time I saw that connector system used on my new bike I wondered about it's durability. I did notice that it fits very tight and hopefully it is making a good connection.

Great video. Had the same problem twice. First time under warranty, they replaced my Hyperscorpion. Second time now. No warranty. No reply after a week. Follow your video and was able to fix it. But accidentally took out the Phillips screw holding the locking mechanism and frack it up. So folks be aware of that lonely screw holding the key mechanism. Kind regards to all.

lol nice video. i think the yellow duct tape was there to protect against vibration rubbing into the wiring and causing shorts. As someone who designs these types of bikes i can tell you that these faults are only half juiced bikes fault, juiced merely adds another companies designed battery systems to their frames. juiced has nothing to do with the battery or battery cable designs. All of these bikes should be xt connectors anyways, there is too much vibration to cause the connections to loosen up and begin shorting.

    • @UncleFjester

iPhone are made in China, and to say, Quality is only 1/2 Apples fault is wrong.
If Juiced cared, or wanted to pay more for a better built battery, they could.
And introducing the phrase "Quality Control" into the Chinese Language could also be accomplished

Just wanted to make you aware to keep an eye on your connection from the controller to the motor. When I disconnected my rear wheel to swap the tires, upon inspection, I found the same burn marks inside the plug coming from controller to motor. Juiced responded today that "it is likely a result of using throttle in race mode". Soooo if you ride the bike within its parameters (modes) it will fail. Gotta love the quality. (Sarcasm)

      Typical 🐂💩 reply from JB.
The connection this Mod repairs is the only connection from the battery. Battery to Controller.

Any ebike you buy that I have ever seen will have these connector problems. Connectors under heavy load (battery connectors) only last about 5000-7000 miles of use. It's expected.
I've put xt60s and 90s in every bike I've owned, after the stock connectors fried.
Even xt60s and 90s have a limited lifespan though.
Consumers do not want to buy a bike that has protruding wires in which they have to manually plug an xt 90 to connect their battery, even if that is actually better. They want "seamless design".
This is just the world we live in.
Heavy users understand that an xt90 is superior... and even those will not last beyond a couple years of heavy use. Replacing battery connectors on an ebike is an annual/biannual expected thing, kind of like new tires.

I plan to do this mod but it won't stop me from getting a RCS this year. At this price-point Juiced bikes are just too damn good (except for the battery connectors of course). What clinched it for me is the buttery smooth torque sensor, humongous 52v battery, bulletproof packaging and customer support. Did I mention that Juiced bikes are just too damn good?

Uncle Fjester, could you have just connected the XT60 battery connection to the XT60 controller connection instead of connecting to the locking mechanism XT60 connection?

Jay, I can't remember, its not making sense either. With this mod, the lock(key) just keeps the battery secure, then you have the one xt60 connector to deal with. Sorry I can't be of more help.

CCS with 5700 miles and the 21 AH battery. I'm doing the mod this weekend. Got every thing apart. I notice on the video when you cut the wires in the battery to the battery connector, each pin actually has two wires going to it, a thick one and a thinner one. You don't mention anything about theses and cutting them and hooking them up.

    • @UncleFjester
      @UncleFjester  2 ปีที่แล้ว

the thin wires were going to a tiny xt30 connector and wasn't hooked to anything, maybe used for testing? Fjust put everything back the way its removed and you'll be good

UF I wished you had posted this in February!. I had a bad connection on my Juiced CCX battery within a month of getting
the bike. I reported this in March to Juiced and they didnt send me a new battery until MID AUGUST! They claimed they couldnt get a box from Fex Ex to ship batteries. Meanwhile they were sending you guys new bikes. The new battery also had issues. the only way I got it to work was by loosening the nut on the bike and letting the connector float into the battery. But I am afraid to take the battery off.
They did give me a hundred dollars Juiced store credit for my troubles.
If I had seen your post then I would have fixed the whole problem in a half hour!

I purchased this bike 1yr ago and I would not recommend it. After 14 months it broke due to electric component failure. Im an avonics specalist with a major airline and so have training and experiance working with electrical components and systems. This is build with cheap parts in China. Specifically the battery terminals and connections are unsafe and will burn which is a mjor safety concern. Mine bike failed and Juiced bikes was even aware of the manufacturing flaw but took no steps to fix it. Please see other youtube videos documenting this dangerous issue.
