The problem I have been having is winning an auction the after I pay the seller cancels & refunds because they want more money.I have also won auctions, payed and then had to go through eBay to get my money back because the seller wouldn't ship the comics. This isn't isolated,I have had this happen about 14 times since January.

I think that FF1 would benefit from a crack and press. That spine fold would definitely improve. I use the Comic Doctor in Oshawa.

It's simple people,if the book is too good to be true then it is more likely a scam so always make sure you know what you are buying cause there are a lot of scammers out there trying to take advantage of people.

I think on that first book - this was listed by a person who had not idea. What he did was look at another listing and do “sell one like this” and AI wrote the description. He probably got a lot of questions and took it down himself.

It could just be someone selling books from someone deceased who has no idea of what they could be selling and needs the money? Zero feedback does not necessarily denote scam. In this case it would actually work out HUGE for the buyer if they acquired a real copy even if not in 4.5.

Hey Lawrence, what’s up a few years ago I picked up on eBay amazing fantasy 15 8.0 restored for only $8500 I believe.. yes, I knew it was too good to be true. It was from a lady in Russia.. obviously, I never received the book. I got my money back, but it’s a pain in the ass.. yes you have to be careful. You are never going to get an amazing fantasy 15 restored 8.0 that CHEAP you should expect to pay $20,000 give or take a few thousand dollars.

Journey to Mystery uses deception to trick buyer. They are selling a modern reprint, but using old photos of a different comic.

Truth is that now might be a great time for run collectors to get some of those bigger keys. With prices beat as much as they are there may never be a better time to purchase some of these books

It's scary buying raw at those high prices. Got burned many times buying raw at online auctions.

No idea what the theme is. First I thought Spider-Man, then I thought silver age. Now I’m leaning towards good presentation and what goes along with it (pressing, cleaning, etc)

Please explain why you say "color depth" matters on a book BUT I have not seen a CGC book ever say "faded color" on their grade. Do they?

Sounds like a clueless guy who just pasted the description from someone else's listing. Probably no idea what CGC or 4.5 means.

From my understanding you are accusing both the buyer and seller of being scammers because the comic sold for $500 and because the buyer has zero feedback even though you admitted to not knowing whether it sold or was taken down by ebay. i will admit it does look odd but this is not enough evidence to say they are scammers. i think if you're going to accuse someone of a crime then you need to present solid evidence of this and report it to the appropriate authorities. i understand where you are coming from but at the same time i think you need to be careful of accusing people without any evidence. it can become a habit and ruin peoples lives. that is why we have a legal system with courts of law so that the law may determine whether or not a person is guilty of the crime they are being accused of.

I said the listing was a scam. Which it was. I never said the buyer was a scammer. In fact the buyer reached out to me on Instagram and confirmed the order was cancelled. So I’m allowed to give my opinion , which in this case was correct. Thank for watching.

@@mightycomicsandcollectibles Correct, so technically you're calling the seller a scammer. Of course you're allowed to give you're opinion im not trying to attack you in any way im just simply stating the facts. Are you really correct or is it that you are assuming something because a buyer cancelled his ordered. Do you know for a fact the seller was trying to intentionally deceive the buyer to deprive him of his money or was this a mistake? have you personally talked to the seller to confirm he was intentionally trying to deceit the buyer? Do you know if he has been doing this for a while? Do you have evidence of other scams hes tried to pull off? All we can do as viewer's is assume he is a scammer because of the description not matching the photo. At that point one can argue is it really scamming or just you not reading the description. i can't say im not in the mind of the seller, i don't know his true intentions. i would have to report this to the FTC and FCC then they would have to look into it and determine whether the person is scamming or not. only then could i say with confidence that the seller indeed was a scammer and can prove it based on the findings of the authorities. so i don't think it's necessarily about you being wrong or correct but about the facts of this type of situation which is the point im trying to make. The truth is you can't say for sure that you are correct without providing further evidence of this alleged crime. You're only evidence of this being a scam is a message from the buyer telling you they have cancelled. That in the eyes of the law is not sufficient evidence to call someone else a scammer. The buyer could have simply cancelled because he saw that the photo did not fit the description of what was being sold so he could only assume this to be some sort of scam.
