Rinjani is not for beginners. You made the memory of Rinjani so beautiful and serene. It makes me miss to hike Rinjani once again only for the view. The only downside of Rinjani's memory is the trash all over the places. I truly hope the local governments, hike operators, and visitors keep the cleanliness of Rinjani

I though it is not for beginners. For newbie, I recommend Mt Merbabu in Central Java known as the most underrated mountain for foreign indeed

Yes it's 100% beginner level it's just a walk up a hill, nothing technical, no climbing or rope work, and if you do a paid trip there are porters who carry everything. The porters do it in flip flops...
I'd actually advise to do it without a paid tour and carry your own gear etc, take a light weight tent etc

Hey Steff, beautiful video and amazing feat! I'm thinking of going in August, I want to ask: Are there (many) dangerous sections of the track? I don't mind the required fitness level, I'm just not a fan of those sections where there's a big drop on the side and similar. Are there ladders on the track?
Is the guy at the end really hiking the mountain in flip-flops? 😀😀

Hi Lukas thank you for watching:) not many dangerous parts really, just take it slow and steady in the dark on the crater rim in the dark, the ridge can be a little exposed. And yeah there’s 2 ladders I remember seeing but they arent very high. And yes flip flops how mad is that😂 good luck!

Rinjani is not the toughest. Definitely not for the beginner tho. Mt. Slamet and Mt. Kerinci are more challenging in terms of vegetation surrounding the trail (dense tropical jungle) and difficult terrain.

If you have a good level of fitness and take a guide its possible, but it is pretty full on
