Just had to do the same thing today but I used a die grinder for the inner race along with a hammer an chisel. I had motor winding that was exposed and I was worried about too much heat but it all worked out. These motor shaft bearings should be a sealed bearing so they last longer. The bearing I was removing off our compressor was only like 4 years old and the ball cage was broken making the bearing scream. Hopefully the sealed bearing will last much longer. I have never tried cutting the inner race with the torch I will give it a try next time. Thanks for the vid.

May I suggest viton rubber shielded bearings? Just wash the old grease out with acetone or some other degreaser, dry it with an air line and refill them with high temperature grease.

My boss Ted used to do that. Amazing bro. Thanks for posting. His son Ricky could reverse weld as in removing the bead without touching the parent medal. Wish I knew that kind of stuff. I’m just a machinist. Amazing

Could you do a video on how to cut a broken bolt out of a bulk head with oxy acet ... we used to do it on bulldozer track roller bearings but I never got taught .

Washing a bearing off, the best puller out there!

we have some flange housed bearing that we were heating up to knock off a 2.5 shaft but ran out of fuel. we had to find a way to get it off asap. We ended up using about 20 - 6" cutting wheels to cut it off and finally got it off. Any other ways that we could have got it off faster without heat? The puller wasn't budging it at all. it was a Flange-Mount Ball Bearing Unit - 4-Bolt Piloted, 40 mm Bore, Cast Iron Housing Material, Set Screw Locking. Wondering if you could find one that has spun on the shaft and getting it off with out heat

Good video... not enough featuring the industrial side with most videos.... I would suggest a camera view under goggles that would show the separation of what were looking for ....

Great suggestion, we actually are experimenting with a head worn GoPro that will show that first person POV I think you are referring to.
      Thanks Marc

usa un extractor o en su defecto suelda unas varillas en el rodamiento....si tienes un mal dia mandas a la mierda el eje y te toca rellenar y tornear....

Ways off cutting off big bearings off a shaft without hurting the shaft

You have to feather it off with a cutting torch, You do it quickly as to not let the shaft heat up and cut into the shaft. I will try and make a video on this to show how its done so keep an eye out on the video uploads or subscribe to get notified when we upload new videos.

That's not the most professional way to remove that bearing.
Because the heat applied by that torch can affect the integrity of the shaft .
