He kind of did already. If the RDA is super high, look out. Also, since 90% are synthetic, you are better off concentrating on how to eat healthy- period. I can HIGHLY recommend to you an audible called Plant Paradox and also FOOD what the heck should I Eat? Dr. Hyman Game changers.
@@MOAB-UT - thanks for the recommendation..much appreciated. I have been eating a predominantly plant based diet for around 10 years already but use a MV supplement on the occasional days that my time is consumed by work commitments etc (or the odd days that I treat myself to some crappy, nutrient devoid comfort food). I’ve been following Mark Hyman for years & even took the liberty of splashing out a bit of hard earned cash, on a few of his books. I’ve studied human physiology/health/diet/nutrition for over 20 years & thought I had gained an excellent knowledge but Hyman opened my eyes to much of the stuff that we just done see in textbooks or hear from western medicine practitioners. My knowledge has 1-2 gaps & I know very little about the differences between synthetic & natural compound or their names & despite my searching, I’ve found very little information that shows us how to determine between the less expensive & potentially harmful synthetic compounds & the more beneficial natural ones. Many of these compounds come in multiple forms & I’d love to know which is good & what to avoid..a simple table with compounds down the LHS & GOOD/BAD, SYNTHETIC/NATURAL headers at the top is all I need but I can’t seem to find anything like this..any links would be hugely appreciated
@@woodstockxx Not sure I can be much help other than to say read The Plant Paradox. It is a really nice compliment to FOOD- what the heck... by Dr. Hyman. Be wary of labels claiming health and even claims of organic this or that cannot be trusted- it's mostly just marketing speak. In general, as you know, get your nutrients from high quality foods. Also, check out Dr. Gundry's YES/NO list. In brief, he highly recommends little to no fruit (Fructose) sans some un-ripened bananas, mangos and papayas- in season. He says to eliminate all Whole Grains and to limit or remove Lectins to avoid leaky gut. Gut health is where it's at. His book takes a different approach than most. His focus is more on what to AVOID eating vs. just what superfoods to eat...though he covers both in great detail. He is an MD out of Yale so he is quite credible. He is not big on taking supplements. He has reversed and healed many diseases in his thousands of patients.
Very timely information, thank you! I just watched a video a few days ago about how synthetic Vit E (alpha tocopherol) causes cancer and that toco-trienal is the better alternative for it. Love your new look, very distinguished!
Completely agree on this. Vitamins can actually be found in our food. Hoping that natural science will make way again in our society and of health studies. We need to go back to our roots and avoid these chemicals in our medicines. ✌🙂
Dr. Bergs effort in explaining his years of experience is very helpful. And it was such a generous gesture that he exerted effort in educating individuals like me. Thank you, Dr. Bergs! 🙂
That’s assuming we are able to obtain good, nutrient dense food, which is grown in the appropriate soil & free of pesticides. Food reform starts with the farmers & farming methods & practices appear to be getting worse, not better. Good quality supplements are an essential supplement, considering what the masses are currently choosing to consume
Dr. Berg, you might be interested to know that I recently saw a video which warned diabetics that taking synthetic vitamin C can be very dangerous, even life-threatening, because it can cause your glucose meter to mis-read your glucose level, showing your glucose level to be much higher than it actually is and prompting action that would cause you to become hypoglycemic. Perhaps this is something you could research and report on? Thank you.
I'm sorry, didn't you just hear him saying synthetic vitamins are not good? He literally just said that in this video. Why should he waste his time to make another video? for each separate vitamin? C'mon, the guy is busy doing other stuff. Give him a break guys. I mean what part of "not good" is not clear enough?
As some have mentioned gave alternatives on what we can take. A lot of people can not afford organic foods nor do they have space to grow their own foods.
I'm below poverty, SSI and disabled and still eat organic foods etc. Join a frugal group to help cut expenses and watch Dave Ramsey. My granny always told me, if there a will there a way. You have search and find it.
I know synthetic vitamins aren't always the answer but its difficult to get your nutrients in this day and age. Superfoods and smoothies helped me- Cacao and Maca root powder and leafy green powder. Also collagen and zeolite powder.
@@Drberg what about fillers like microcrystalline cellulose which can be found in your supplements too. Appreciate your input on this one as this filler has been linked to several medical problems including cancer.
I have been taking vitamin supplements for years, Omg!! Thank you so much Dr Berg, this video is very eye opening. It would be very helpful if you could please provide us with a list of exactly what to avoid when reading the back label ingredients. Thank you so much.
When he's just saying avoid "synthetic" vitamins, en masse, without even specifying which brands, or which specific supplements, without explaining how supposed all-natural vitamins are superior in any way (except some pseudo-chemistry about antioxidants), or how "all-natural" supplements magically have a higher absorption rate, and then starts hawking his own products, you really should be more skeptical and consult your actual d0ctor. The fact he says 98% of supplements on the market are not like his supposedly miraculously superior product that should give you a giant red flag that he's trying to s3ll you a very niche product whose only value lies in the label he slaps on the front of it.
High blood pressure- remove all salt, supplement with potassium citrate and foods like avocados. @@rachkate76 Your experience is not everyone and you are not an MD- no offense. Generally limiting salt (we need some) is good. I ONLY consumer pink sea salt- no issues with my BP. I dont take vitamins every day. It usually depends on how I'm eating. For the past few days I've been taking my multivitamin and today I feel sick to my stomach and I have a headache. Its probably from my vitamins!
I just saw a video on TH-cam about synthetic vitamins. First, the RDA value is/was calculated based on use of synthetic vitamins. Second, the RDA is/was calculated using an animal model (mice). Thus, we basically have NO IDEA how much vitamins is enough or good for a human organism. We don’t really know how much of natural gas. synthetic is necessary… For example, people on carnivore diet don’t develop scurvy… even knowing that they don’t get vit. C with their food… I know that I know nothing! :)
Mass confusion. So fat soluble vitamins are very very bad as said in the video that includes vitamin D3 as well, but also many videos where "its impossible to get vitamin D from the food so if we going to take from supplements, to take them with the food". So what to listen, who to listen for right information? Random info all over the channel and youtube as well.
The "natural" form of "vitamin D" (known scientifically as cholecalciferol or "vitamin D3") is technically not a vitamin at all, since it is a prehormone that is synthesized *cutaneously* under "natural" circumstances. Moreover, while the synthetic "vitamin D3" added to milk and other products may be chemically identical to "natural" vitamin D, the "vitamin D2" (AKA ergocalciferol) that is added to milk "replacements" such as almond milk and soy milk is a cholecalciferol analog derived from plant sources (synthetic cholecalciferol itself is commonly derived from substances found on the wool of sheep) that has been seen in studies of the effect of "vitamin D" on lung infections in children to have somewhat different properties from cholecalciferol.

Been a huge fan of yours for years Mr B .. I have a teeny, weeny request & would be extremely grateful if you’d be happy to oblige. Is there any possibility that you might consider providing us followers with an extensive, in depth video which tells us how to identify between synthetic & natural vitamins etc..folate & folic acid being the only one that I’m aware of but I do know that there are other tell tale signs involved with compound names such as oxide, oxidase, sulphate, picolinate, sulphate etc .. can you please, please, please tell us which ones are synthetic & need to be avoided vs the natural ones that we need to be looking for ? .. if you haven’t already done this, in which case a link would be hugely appreciated 🙏🏻😁
Thank you, Dr. Berg!
Very timely information, thank you! I just watched a video a few days ago about how synthetic Vit E (alpha tocopherol) causes cancer and that toco-trienal is the better alternative for it. Love your new look, very distinguished!
Me too! I didn't know they made synthetic vitamin E (dl-), as well as Vitamin C (Absorbic acid 😫)
I am so confused on the Vitamin E. There are so many different versions.
... Basically d-alpha tocopherol is NATURAL Vitamin E, whereas dl-alpha tocopherol is the SYNTHETIC version that is supposed to cause problems.
Completely agree on this. Vitamins can actually be found in our food. Hoping that natural science will make way again in our society and of health studies. We need to go back to our roots and avoid these chemicals in our medicines. ✌🙂

That’s assuming we are able to obtain good, nutrient dense food, which is grown in the appropriate soil & free of pesticides. Thank you.

Dr. Berg, I am taking benfotiamine for my tinnitus after watching your video a few weeks ago. My tinnitus is a bit better. You said this is a synthetic and fat soluble version of vitamin B1. Does this have any long term side effects? Thank you for your help.
I cured my tinnitus using a natural high releaser. I used GHR 1000. Healed my ears in a few days.
I wonder also
Ear plugs can help; also getting in great shape and reduce stress...and learn to just deal with it. Learn to like it. I consider it a built in stress detector. When it gets bad and effects my sleep, that is a different annoying story, but day to day, you can learn to associate it to your own personal superpower! Ever notice that you can hear things differently- like your ear is tuned in to another frequency? I sometimes get that- it's odd but I can hear music clearly that others cannot- then if I turn my head a few inches, it's gone. It's pretty interesting actually so I don't mind it!

A lot of tablet based medications and supplements contain talc in the UK.
When you get talcum powder it advises not to ingest or breathe it in.

they can not separate arsenic from talc (both forms are minerals they grow together), watch a series called "not so pretty" which goes into depth about this
I was recently investigating the ingredients in synthroid - a medication for hypothyroid (under active thyroid) and saw this ingredient. With all the knowledge about what talc does to reproductive organs, I was shocked to see it in an oral tablet.

sir i looked at the ingredients in your vitamins and although your brand is a bit cleaner theres still crappy additives and synthetics in there. or sugar alcohols
Then how would they produce multivitamin. Do you expect that they would take all the vegetables , fruits in to the factory, put in to the machines, in other side the multivitamin tables would come out as a final product.
I would say it is for shelf life. Since vitamins are stored in our home cabinets and not in the fridge. I'm assuming alcohol (not checked his ingredients) is there to kill bacteria or prevent bacteria from forming.
@@deepakjena3628there are other brands that don’t include things like the mag stearate, rice flour & other stuff that some of us react to. Some brands only have the powder ingredient(s) that you are wanting to supplement.

I asked questions about this topic, finally getting my answers. Thanks
