I Broke My Gold Record | Digging into Mine Shaft Sump Finds Rich Placer Gold

- We finally broke our own Gold record after removing tons of dirt from the sump of our mine shaft and try a little metal detecting the Drift new tunnel with our Minelab Gold Monster 1000 for Placer Gold Nuggets. After we run all the red paydirt from the sump , we get more Gold than we have ever seen in the pan. This is ask Jeff Williams saying thank you.

You could 3d print a clay comb for your sluice with a 🗜️ on each side.

You could also use firm silicone to make bristles so that the clay chunks don't pass until they break down.
Make multiple combs of lesser size for smaller chunks.

I still laugh when I remember my grandfather teaching me about carbide lamps. In a pinch you can spit into it if you run out of water. But he had many a time where he said to hell with it and just pissed in the reservoir.
The one time taking a piss mightve saved your life hahahahahaha 😆 🤣 😂 😅 🤪 😜 😆 🤣 😂
With the metal detector going off with every blow it looks like the wall is crying in pain everytime you hit it hahahahahaha 😂 🤣 😆 😅 🤪
For everyone else’s benefit, the case of those carbide lanterns get hot, really HOT! It didn’t matter what brand whether a Guy’s Dropper or a Justrite. Don’t bother with the plastic Justrite types which came out in the 70s, they melt and are unsafe. Thanks for the demo with the sticking Tommy and carbide comparison. 🤩

At 24:44 the large rock on the 4th riffle appeared to be a nugget caked in clay. I only caught a glimpse of color but I think it maybe was missed. The largest rock in that riffle caked in red clay.

Nice to see you on the notoriously fickle pay streaks....you've got 2 advantages over the old times better lighting and metal detectors to focus the search. One obvious question grams tonsof material? One other thing that might be good for a future video would be field dry panning techniques... you've stated nuggets run in clusters and often with Au fines so say if your detecting how to search the surrounding soil especial for those of us in very dry climates...

If my grandsons and I ever found that much gold at one time we would be dancing for sure. It looks like 1.2 ounces. We keep going to this place in gold basin found over a gram once but only finding fly poop hoping by going a little deeper we might hit it again.

In the early 70's we could still buy carbide & lamps. In those days battery & bulb TEC wasn't like it is today. Spelunking the only way to spend a long time underground was to use carbide. Really worked well. Cheers from Northern California!!!

Jeff for the rooting project try some H2O2 it's 33 % and super strong and will burn your hands so dilute it before mixing with water... you should get roots in 8 days.

One candle creates heat and energy equal to about 100 watts,, which became the normal 100 watt light bulb that produced 10 times more light. LEDs ramp the efficiency up another X10, an order of magnitude.
That cleanout looked like 52.1 g! Love that sump dirt!
