It's got to be hard as hell to visualize, shoot, and edit a scene that shows everything falling apart without having the scene itself fall apart. This is amazing, and it was his first film.

Hedwig in this scene, it's like on the inside she's screaming, "IT HURTS IT HURTS IT HURTS IT HURTS." Because if she screamed it out loud, no one would understand.

I love the reaction shots of the crowd, their mouths slightly agape in shock and confusion. That, and when Yitzhak, after looking on (completely understanding Hedwig) finishes singing his/her verse looking so masculine, but eventually hitting a pitch or squeal that very few male voices ever might. Hedwig's dance moves are an odd juxtaposition to his attire. Watch him, his movements are very masculine (once the emotion breaks out). Great performances from both.
Yitzhak is played by a woman, actress and singer Miriam Shor.
Thanks to whomever pointed out Yitzhak’s feminine vocals and squeal. I never noticed that before and I love it now
This was probably the best thing I’ve ever seen as a high schooler. I’m almost 32 and it means so much more now.
I love how just about every song feels like an actual bands songs. Like. I know thats the point obviously but ive seen other musicals try and do that and it doesnt usually work that well. The songs from this on the other hand 100000% do. Like. They're all absolutely amazing. This is suuuch a good punk song.
How great would it be to go out and eat at some chain restaurant only to have this greatness occur in the land of mediocrity?

'The words to complete the sentence that I began, "I am...".' That is one of my most favorite lines from the play. I had never noticed that it was said at the end of this song in the movie until a couple of years ago. I'm glad it was included.

I felt exactly the same way-got the movie from Netflix, and went out and bought it the next day. I've seen it live once, and it was one of the best productions I've ever seen, and that's coming from someone who's seen a ton of shows. LOVE Hedwig!

I have never seen any other that are so true and deep about the feelings of love and gender identity and doing things your way no matter what others tell you because you know that when you follow your dream the way you want to then it will be all the more satisfying when you finally reach your destination

Сейчас же я осознаю, что это буквально ключевой момент фильма. Вокал Ицхака, Хедвиг, вырывающая у него микрофон. Срывание с себя платья - пластикового платья, личины, которая душит героя... Герой отказывается от своего образа. Он снимает это платье, затем снимет и парик. Эта сцена переворачивает весь фильм

So, Hedwig's backup singer, the one with the long hair and the beard who wanted to play Angel in RENT, is he supposed to be a transman? His voice just sounds so feminine, it seems to me that he was either a woman before he became a man or is in the process of becoming a woman.
