This is hands down, my favorite cover ever. George Jones is my favorite country singer of all-time. 'The Grand Tour' is my favorite George Jones song. This version is even better. My God, just stunning.
The guitar part is equally as great as the vocal. He’s doing some clean lines almost as if he is accompanying someone else and not having to focus on singing. Tough to pull off especially on a ballad with a lot of empty space to fill. Bravo.
Well, I do not know how I did not find this artist prior to 2021. But this is an amazing cover. He has the twang of Jones and the grunt of Eric Church. Well done sir. Well done. Hope you're still at it.
I'm speaking with all due respect here when I say keep working at it.... Right now without sugar coating anything , you have just chopped then hell outta the second best country music artist that ever lived.....
Dude, I've been trying to emulate George's voice and it's damn near impossible. You did a fantastic job on this!!! Come through Austin and I'll be there!!!
Good as gets trying to nail the essence of this classic gem. Great playing, bit of side mouth sneer-- when you think about it--can't really do this song justice w/out a bit of contempt. Worthy of repeat viewings. Like that tech 21 amp too. Inspired
Fantastic job! You nearly made my cry, dude! I have to disagree with you, though. This is the 2nd saddest song ever. George's "He Stopped Loving Her Today" tops the list.
+weeno derp and for anyone else I am going to try and tab this out before this weekend is up and put it on ultimate-guitar.com or something I will let you know.
Great work man! You def have an Eric Church/Gary Alan type voice. Would love to hear you cover their songs. You may already have, Google just didn't pull it up. Either way, excellent work. Keep it up! Sounds great!
It's hard to do a cover that a legend has done elvis.no one can do his covers and do good in my opinion.however this fellow did a great job with his great voice.!goerge is in my opinion the king of country!and not far behind is David Allen coe.i like how he does different voices. R.i.p goerge !not only was he a legend he loved the coolest cars . Corvettes!
It's a cover my brother. Not an imitation.. .. I think you might enjoy it more if you looked at it in those terms... But I respect your opinion... Your right he doesn't sound like George
Wow... When my mom said that her cousin Robert was a musical artist, I didn't think he would be so talented!
I was workiing at a bar and heard him live. WOW... I was an instant fan. I stopped working just to listen and watch his show. truly amazing.
as a 32 year old massive fan of Mr. Jones... you make this amazing. Thank you.
Wonderful. Just wonderful.
This blew my mind. What a voice!! And love the simple but CLEAN guitar pickin. Keep it up man. I'm already a fan.
Now that IS country music. Wonderful job!
This is hands down, my favorite cover ever. George Jones is my favorite country singer of all-time. 'The Grand Tour' is my favorite George Jones song. This version is even better. My God, just stunning.
This version is better?
This is an exquisitely sad rendition of, as you said, perhaps the saddest song ever. We miss you here in H-Town - but wish you grand success.
The guitar part is equally as great as the vocal. He’s doing some clean lines almost as if he is accompanying someone else and not having to focus on singing. Tough to pull off especially on a ballad with a lot of empty space to fill. Bravo.
Wow, not only the voice, but what he's doing with that guitar.
That snarl tho. Well done sir. Thanks for teaching me how to play this song. One of my favorites for sure. 👊🏽

Well, I do not know how I did not find this artist prior to 2021. But this is an amazing cover. He has the twang of Jones and the grunt of Eric Church. Well done sir. Well done. Hope you're still at it.
There are quite a few albums out there - latest was “Texas Piano Man” where he switches from guitar to keys and just kills. Go get it!

Like this? Me too. Check out Robert Ellis as the Texas Piano Man. It brought me here.
Nailed it!
Great voice and guitar playing! A little Willie influence on guitar.
Fuck... The feels just hit me!
Sounds like Willie Nelson and George Jones had a jam session! Very nice
sweet. long live george.
this is beautiful...*takes a tissue and wipes tear from her eye*...how do you do it?
Awesome.
Can anyone tell me exact what guitar this is? Looks like an SJ200
Definitely SJ200

Wow, and wee.
Ya ain’t the Possum but that was damn good
His voice reminds me of Jimmy Rose from American Idol.

I can't even.
Great voice and thumbs up but just one thing -- isn't it "our baby" and not "her baby" near the end?
"I think this may be the saddest song ever written".
Ah huh.
New hipsters are better than old hipsters.
Not bad but loose some of that singing through your nose.
He need to step it up and but steel guitar in it
too much style not enough heart. dont be fooled people. there's nothing here
Post a video of you covering this song! Would love to hear it!
