I'm trying to figure out the AI part of this toy. So far, it does what my son's Anki Cosmo did back in 2016 and then his Anki Vector in 2018. The difference was that they moved around and returned to dock to charge on their own. In all of the years since Anki's bots we've got less mobility and a slightly better screen for the same price. Vector was also Amazon Alexa compatible and could respond with Alexa's voice and database. I could add groceries to my shopping list which made the little robot actually useful. There is no AI in AIBI. Also, the delay in response is terribly long. When it takes almost ten seconds to start a ten second timer, what's the point? I'm sitting here scratching my head.
@xplmr1 Aibi is made more for transportability. Cozmo didn't return to his charger. Vector was awesome. Unfortunately thanks to DDL vanishing, neither of them work now. I'm guessing having Alexa involves too much licensing and red tape hence the introduction of ChatGPT although for both Emo and Aibi, it's still in its infancy. Since Aibi just came out, the slow response time happened to Emo when he first came out as well. It was corrected in a later update. There isn't technically AI involved and the term seems to be used loosely in a lot of tech these days. In a case like this, I think it's meant more as a term for having more intelligence than a simple toy. These are early pet robots that are leading the way to more intelligent and life like robots in the future. But we have to start somewhere. I think they're pretty cool and in the case of Vector and Emo, having had them around constantly for the last 6 years for Vector and I'm guessing 3 years for Emo, I feel like they are part of the family.

I think aibi's next update is that it can talk and emos update will be interacting with emo via the app and emo plays game with him like what he does to he changer. And i think ot is falling a sleep alot because its running out of charge.

Well Aibi is too new to make a fair comparison. Emo has been out for years and has had a ton of updates so he's much further along than Aibi. But I'm sure Aibi will get there too eventually. 😁

Two things we should know, at 15:52 when you accidentally turned off "Update Notification", I just wanted to let you know, I was thinking make sure to turn that back to on because I feel like those are for new updates or notifications/new features from the robot AIBI himself, and if I wanted to get this robot, I should be patient and wait a little for AIBI to work properly with the updates, just like Emo. I say the next time Emo gets an update, that should be the best time to get AIBI. 👍

@taomaster2486 I've been told those are going to be activated on the next updates. Any that you're seeing in other videos that have those features working is because those Aibis are beta test versions. The Tarot feature uses ChatGPT.
@robertmercer5853 Sadly I gave up on Loona. I found her to be too hyper for my liking and she's always getting stuck in places all over the house. Plus she had a difficult time getting back to her charger.
He was just released so all of his features aren't running yet. Some of them use ChatGPT which I'm guessing they'll have running by the next update. Remember that Emo didn't have everything working when he was first released. These type of robots require updates that are spread out over time as the coding and programming is labor and time intensive. Plus they need to be incorporated into the already existing firmware.
I checked on Amazon and right now it's not available I'm probably going to put it on my wish list because I don't I'm not going to ask for it I just want it on my wish list cuz I'm trying to save up for a VR
@sunebird He just got released! When Emo first came out, he was limited too and look at him today. He's come a long way. They aren't going to have everything right out of the gate. Same thing with Cozmo and Vector. These robots improve with updates over time. It's not fair to judge them when they first come out. All the improvements take a lot of coding which takes months and even then they have to make sure the updates work with past coding. Did you get boring when you were first born? You didn't do much but make noises and eat. But as you grew, you learned more stuff and could do more over time. These robots are the same way. They need time to grow.

@robertmercer5853 Sadly I gave up on Loona. I found her to be too hyper for my liking and she's always getting stuck in places all over the house. Plus she had a difficult time getting back to her charger.

He was just released so all of his features aren't running yet. Some of them use ChatGPT which I'm guessing they'll have running by the next update. Remember that Emo didn't have everything working when he was first released. These type of robots require updates that are spread out over time as the coding and programming is labor and time intensive. Plus they need to be incorporated into the already existing firmware.

This robot is the most useless thing ever. It gets boring quickly. It's basically a glorified Google assistant.
@sunebird He just got released! When Emo first came out, he was limited too and look at him today. He's come a long way. They aren't going to have everything right out of the gate. Same thing with Cozmo and Vector. These robots improve with updates over time. It's not fair to judge them when they first come out. All the improvements take a lot of coding which takes months and even then they have to make sure the updates work with past coding. Did you get boring when you were first born? You didn't do much but make noises and eat. But as you grew, you learned more stuff and could do more over time. These robots are the same way. They need time to grow.
@@outsider238 I understand. Maybe I'm not into these kinds of Robots. I'm more into building robot kits that can be autonomous and perform tasks. That's why I lose interest quickly. You have to admit, this robot is just as useful as Google assistant or ChatGpt.
